Giants fourth-year T/G James Brewer may be on the outside looking in at a 53-man roster spot.
Brewer was the 117th pick in the 2011 draft and stands 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds with vine-like 36-inch arms. He appeared in 14 games last season, participating on 443 offensive snaps at left guard, right guard, and right tackle. In five starts at left guard, Brewer was exposed as a pass protector. Brewer might have the edge for a roster spot if the Giants decide to keep ten linemen.

Sat Jan 26 201320:39Giants looking at Brewer for right tackle job
ESPN New York confirms that James Brewer is a candidate for the Giants' right tackle job next season.
With David Diehl entering the final year of his contract and Will Beatty set to become a free agent, Brewer will be in the mix for a starting role in 2013. He's appeared in just eight games in his first two NFL seasons, but has the requisite size to play right tackle. The move would also allow Diehl to return to his more natural guard position.
