Thompson was released by the Bills on Friday, the team's official website reports.
Thompson spent his first three seasons (2012-2014) in Baltimore, occupying either one of the final roster spots or a slot on the practice squad. He could draw some interest if a team has need of a kick returner, but his work as a wide receiver is unlikely to turn any heads.

Thompson has had a good showing through the Bills' first two preseason games, hauling in four passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. Thompson signed with the Ravens on Tuesday, the Baltimore Sun reports.
Thompson was waived by the Ravens earlier this month, after initially surviving roster cuts following training camp. However, with Dennis Pitta (hip) now out, Baltimore may be seeking an additional pass-catching option, so Thompson's signing helps on that front. In seven games for the team last season, Thompson caught 10 passes (on 18 targets) for 96 yards.
Mon Sep 1 201416:26Thompson survived roster cuts
Thompson survived roster cuts, the Ravens' official website reports.
Thompson, Michael Campanaro and Kamar Aiken were thought to be battling for one or two spots, but the Ravens ultimately decided to keep seven wide receivers, allowing all three to stick. The team presumably won't use seven roster spots on the position throughout the year, and may even release one of the three before Sunday's opener against the Bengals. It's also possible that the Ravens are looking to trade Thompson to a returner-needy team in exchange for a late-round draft pick.

Thompson helped his roster chances with a huge performance in the return game Saturday against the Cowboys, the Ravens' official website reports.
Thompson amassed 188 yards and a touchdown from three kickoff returns, but he didn't catch any passes. With the Ravens' top four receivers seemingly locked in, Thompson, Kamar Aiken, Michael Campanaro and Jeremy Butler are competing for either one or two roster spots. While none of the bunch figures to do much on offense, Thompson could be a threat to Jacoby Jones' role in the return game. Thompson is probably the fastest Raven, and he could catch on elsewhere as a return specialist and depth receiver, if he doesn't make the roster in Baltimore.
