Mon May 19 201417:28Josh Cooper part of Browns' roster purge
Browns waived WR Josh Cooper, WR Tori Gurley, FB Chris Pressley and TE Andre Smith.
The Browns continue to subtract, rather than add, bodies at the receiver position. It's an odd strategy with Josh Gordon facing an indefinite suspension, but neither Cooper nor Gurley are intriguing talents at this point in their respective careers. Shuttled back and forth better the practice squad and active roster last season, Cooper caught nine passes across five games. He'll look to latch on elsewhere as a camp body.

Sat Oct 27 201219:47Browns hint at expanded role for WR Cooper
The Browns are expected to "continue to find playing time" for WR Josh Cooper.
Cooper was targeted eight times by Brandon Weeden in Week 7, and has six catches for 92 yards in two games since being promoted from the practice squad. With Travis Benjamin and Mohamed Massaquoi (questionable, hamstring) returning from injuries, the Browns will continue to carry Cooper on their active roster. It's possible Cooper could play himself into a full-time role at slot receiver, but he isn't on the fantasy radar.
