Palmer was promoted from the Broncos' practice squad ahead of the team's Week 1 win over the Colts, but has now been released and replaced on Denver's practice squad by tight end Dominique Jones.

Previously waived on Aug. 30, before being added to the Broncos' practice squad, Palmer will provide the team with added wideout depth in the wake of Wes Welker's four-game suspension.

Broncos signed WR Nathan Palmer, S John Boyett, OG Ben Garland, OT Paul Cornick, DE Hall Davis, DE John Youboty and WR Greg Wilson to reserve/future contracts.
Palmer is a third-year undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois. He caught one pass in five games for the Colts in 2012. A 2013 sixth-round pick of the Colts, Boyett was cut loose shortly after final cuts after getting popped on multiple drinking-related charges.

Colts WR Nathan Palmer will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL.
Palmer was active just five times last season, but kept his roster spot after being promoted from the practice squad in September. In January, GM Ryan Grigson called Palmer "about as explosive a receiver we have." He struggled to stay healthy this preseason, however, catching just one pass in two games. Injured reserve is a possibility.

Colts GM Ryan Grigson called WR Nathan Palmer "about as explosive a receiver we have."
Palmer was plucked off the 49ers practice squad in September and appeared in five games in 2012, registering just one catch. Palmer, 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, caught 47 passes for 695 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior at Northern Illinois in 2011. With Donnie Avery and Austin Collie set for free agency, he could see an increased role in 2013.
