Sun Jun 16 201319:48Driver: I'm open to in-season Packers return
Retired WR Donald Driver suggested at the Packers' charity softball game Sunday that he'd be open to returning if Green Bay called this year.
Brett Favre's nine-year teammate apparently was not joking. "I think the thing for me is if the Packers call midseason, I'd be in shape," said 38-year-old Driver, who "officially" retired on January 31. "I've been staying in shape." Reporters didn't ask what Driver would do if the Jets or Vikings called.

Thu Jan 31 201308:17Donald Driver retiring after 14 NFL seasons
Donald Driver announced his retirement Thursday morning on ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike."
Driver was slated to be a free agent this year, but was reportedly leaning toward retirement in early January. He spent 14 seasons in the NFL, all with the Packers, and retires as Green Bay's franchise leader in reception (743) and receiving yards (10.137). The Packers will hold a ceremony for Driver in Green Bay on Feb. 6.

Tue Jan 29 201316:44Report: Vikings interested in Donald Driver
Per Fox Sports Wisconsin, the Vikings are interested in impending free agent Donald Driver.
Driver, who turns 38 on Saturday, believes he can "go to any team and be either their No. 1 or No. 2 guy and be solid for another three years." That might be a bit of a stretch, but Driver has repeatedly said he'd like to play until he's 40. "The question is, do I want to see myself in another uniform? I've always said I only want to wear that green and gold and nothing else," said Driver. Minnesota has just Percy Harvin and Jarius Wright as virtual locks for roster spots in 2013 at receiver.

Wed Jan 23 201321:44Donald Driver leaning toward retirement
Impending free agent Donald Driver is reportedly "leaning toward retirement."
This comes from "a person informed of Driver's thinking on the matter." According to the same source, an announcement could come as soon as next week. After the season, Driver, 38 next week, said he feels he can still play and would like to suit up in 2013, so it would be odd for him to hang it up before free agency even starts.

Mon Jan 14 201311:49Donald Driver wants to play in 2013
Impending free agent Donald Driver feels like he's proven that he can still play and wants to suit up again in 2013.
"I think I'm just going to see what's out there for me and if teams call and want me to come then I've got to make that decision," said Driver. "If not, if the Packers want me back, then I'll come back."

Sun Dec 30 201215:07Donald Driver a healthy scratch for Week 17
Donald Driver is a healthy scratch for the regular-season finale at Minnesota.
Turning 38 in February, the impending free agent has likely played his last regular-season game with the Packers. With Randall Cobb out of the lineup, Jeremy Ross and Jarrett Boykin are getting the nod over Driver.

Wed Dec 5 201222:35Driver has a broken thumb; intends to play
Donald Driver revealed that he has a broken thumb.
Driver missed last week's game with the injury, but he intends to play through it the rest of the way. The 37-year-old is no higher than the sixth option in the passing attack when everybody is healthy, so he's well off the fantasy radar. Driver will be a free agent after the season and is certainly winding down an illustrious career as a Packer.

Sun Nov 4 201217:43Driver goes for one reception, ten yards
Donald Driver caught one pass for ten yards in the Packers' Week 9 win over the Cardinals.
Driver's role did not noticeably increase even after Jordy Nelson's early-game ankle injury. The 37-year-old rotated with UDFA Jarrett Boykin and was targeted just twice. Driver offers no fantasy value entering a Week 10 bye.

Fri Oct 26 201212:06Driver, Boykin headed for increased roles?
Donald Driver and Jarrett Boykin will see an increase in snaps if Jordy Nelson (hamstring) sits out versus the Jaguars in Week 8.
Driver appears to have the edge, as he's seen 73 snaps to Boykin's 15 this season. Neither player is an option outside of the deepest fantasy leagues, although Randall Cobb and James Jones should be locked into starting lineups.

Thu Oct 25 201210:09Donald Driver is OK with his reduced role
Donald Driver said he is "fine" with his meager role in the Packers' offense.
Through seven games, Driver has four catches for 45 yards while barely seeing the field. "I don't think you ever expect your role to be (reduced)," he said. "It happens when you transition to a certain point. ... I think you have to be OK with it." Driver will be 37 years old and a free agent in the spring.

Fri Oct 5 201213:39Donald Driver has played 37 snaps
Donald Driver has played just 37 snaps through the Packers' first four games.
He's buried on the depth chart and has two catches for 29 yards on the season. Driver recently told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that although his major reduction in playing time is disappointing, he's fine with it as long as the Packers are winning games. Driver should remain buried on fantasy waiver wires.

Sun Sep 9 201222:57Driver sidelined for all but last 3 plays
Donald Driver was on the sidelines for all but the final three plays of Sunday's Week 1 loss to the 49ers.
The only reason Driver took to the field late was because Greg Jennings called for a replacement. Playing in come-back mode, the Packers operated out of the no-huddle formation extensively. That personnel grouping consists of Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and James Jones. Asked about his role, Driver replied, "I don't know. I'm all right."

Sun Sep 9 201221:29Donald Driver held without a target in loss
Donald Driver wasn't targeted in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.
Driver apparently checked into the game at some point, but we didn't see it. Clearly more of a mascot and leader than asset on offense at this point in his career, Driver should be owned in zero percent of fantasy leagues.

Tue Aug 28 201218:24Driver distancing himself from WR competition
Donald Driver has "steadily distanced himself" from Tori Gurley, Diondre Borel since hauling in three touchdowns in one early-camp practice.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, unsure of Driver's roster security two weeks ago, now believes the veteran is "entrenched." The question is whether Randall Cobb overtakes him as as the primary slot receiver. Gurley and Borel will vie for one roster spot if the Packers do indeed decide to keep six receivers.

Tue Aug 14 201211:16Driver not a lock for roster spot?
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Bob McGinn doesn't consider Donald Driver a lock for the Packers' 53-man roster.
However, McGinn doesn't believe the 37-year-old wideout has noticeably slipped this summer. It's hard to see the Packers cutting their veteran leader after revising his contract in May. Driver won't be higher than fifth on the depth chart, however.

Tue Aug 7 201222:33Driver says he hasn't 'lost anything'
Donald Driver insists he hasn't "lost anything."
"I think a lot of people are surprised how I've played at 37 years old," Driver said. "It's funny how these young guys look up and say, 'I thought I was going to catch the old man, but I can't catch him.'" Driver looked near the end in 2011, but reporter Rob Reischel believes he's "arguably the best-conditioned player on the team," and has been "playing terrific this summer." Both those things may be true, but Driver will still be no better than fifth on the depth chart. He's off the radar in fantasy leagues.

Fri Jul 27 201210:36Donald Driver lines up at No. 3 WR
Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson and Donald Driver lined up as the top-three receivers as the Packers opened training camp.
We wouldn't read too much into this. As the leader of the group and a 13-year veteran, Driver deserves the respect. But when the chips are down, the Packers know they are better off with the younger, more explosive legs of James Jones and Randall Cobb.

Wed Jul 25 201212:04Donald Driver expected to make the Packers
Offensive coordinator Tom Clements said he anticipates Donald Driver making the 53-man roster.
Driver signed a one-year, $2.3 million contract in May. The Packers have plenty of cap room, so they can afford to keep him on as a veteran leader. But at age 37, it's hard to see Driver holding off the likes of Randall Cobb and James Jones.

Thu Jul 12 201211:27Donald Driver plans to play two more years
Donald Driver, who turned 37 in February, plans to play two more seasons in the NFL.
"I'm going to play two more years, this one, then next year, then I'm completely done," he said. "(I'm) gonna put my cleats on the shelf and do something different." Driver signed a one-year, $2.3 million deal with Green Bay in June, this leaves open the possibility that he could finish his career playing elsewhere.

Mon Jun 11 201213:54Donald Driver gets 1-year, $2.3M contract
Updating a previous item, Donald Driver's one-year revised deal with the Packers is worth $2.3 million.
He was already paid a $1.2M roster bonus. That money is considered "guaranteed" based on the fact that it was already paid. His 2012 salary is $1.1M, and there is no other money available. The contract should make Driver a safe bet for a 53-man roster spot, though his role will likely decrease this year.
