Sun Sep 30 201208:56Former Colts WR Gonzalez moving on from NFL
Former Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez has moved on from football.
Gonzalez, 28, enrolled in the Stanford Graduate School of Business two weeks ago. "One hundred million percent, no doubt," Gonzalez said when talking about if he has officially moved on from the NFL. Gonzalez signed on with the Patriots earlier this offseason but was released in May. "I'm actually happy they released me," Gonzalez added. He caught 99 career passes for 1,307 yards and seven touchdowns from 2007-10 with the Colts before his career was marred by injuries.

Wed May 30 201210:38Anthony Gonzalez just 'doesn't have the legs'
According to the Boston Globe, the Patriots are believed to have given up so quickly on WR Anthony Gonzalez because he "just doesn't have the legs anymore."
In other words, Gonzalez's speed and short-area burst has been sapped by recurring leg injuries. The Patriots didn't even deem Gonzalez worth bringing to training camp. We wouldn't expect to see the 28-year-old in the NFL again.

Sat Mar 17 201217:35Patriot take flier on Anthony Gonzalez
Patriots signed WR Anthony Gonzalez, formerly of the Colts.
Once of the most promising young receivers in football, Gonzalez has seen his career all but ended by injuries. Primarily sidelined by knee issues, the 2007 first-round pick has appeared in just 10 games since 2008. If he can get and stay healthy, it's possible he'd be a shrewd low-cost flier on the Patriots' part, but he'll be far from guaranteed of earning a roster spot.

Thu Mar 15 201208:50Anthony Gonzalez to visit with the Pats
Free agent WR Anthony Gonzalez will visit the Patriots this weekend, a source tells the Boston Herald.
In typical Patriots fashion, Gonzalez is a low-price, low-risk kind of option. The 2007 first-round pick certainly has talent, but he's appeared in just 10 games over the last three seasons due to injury. Gonzalez's natural position is the slot -- a position held by Wes Welker in New England. Gonzalez is a backup at this point in his career.

Sun Mar 11 201218:34Anthony Gonzalez won't return to Colts
The Colts have informed free agent Anthony Gonzalez that he will not be back with the club in 2012.
They told him via phone call on Friday. A first-round draft pick in 2007, Gonzalez is on the verge of washing out of the league due to so many injuries in Indy. He has caught just five passes for 67 yards over the past three seasons.

Thu Dec 1 201117:12Anthony Gonzalez out with groin injury
Anthony Gonzalez (groin) was held out of Colts practice for the second straight day Thursday.
This is just an FYI on a player who has appeared in only six games this season, drawing one target. Gonzalez is much closer to being out of football than ever regaining fantasy relevance. He'll be a free agent at season's end.

Thu Oct 27 201109:31Anthony Gonzalez not part of the Colts' plans
Anthony Gonzalez has recorded no catches on one target all season.
Gonzalez has been healthy all season, but has been inactive three times and didn't even sniff the field on special teams in one other. The former first-round pick will head to free agency with nothing significant on tape since 2008.

Sun Sep 18 201111:54Gonzalez, White active for Colts
Anthony Gonzalez and Blair White are both active for Sunday's game against the Browns.
The Colts' wideout corps is at full strength, but now there are severely fewer snaps to go around thanks to the increased use of two-wide sets. With Gonzalez and White the No. 4 and 5 receivers, they don't figure to see more than a handful of snaps at most. The Colts' inactives: QB Peyton Manning, RB Darren Evans, G Seth Olsen, LB Gary Brackett, LB Ernie Sims, CB Kevin Thomas and CB Chris Rucker.

Wed Sep 14 201119:11Anthony Gonzalez back to full practice
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) has resumed practicing fully.
Gonzalez was inactive for Week 1's loss to the Texans. Limited to just two games the past two seasons, Gonzalez was going to be a shaky fantasy proposition even if Peyton Manning was playing this season. Without him, Gonzalez is completely off the fantasy radar.

Sun Sep 11 201111:46A-Gonz, Blair White both inactive
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) and Blair White (back) are both inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans.
The Colts will roll with just Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie as available wideouts. It's yet another sign that they plan on attempting a run-heavy scheme that involves fullbacks and double-tight sets. Other Colts inactives: QB Peyton Manning, DB Kevin Thomas, RB Darren Evans, OG Jamey Richard and DE Jerry Hughes.

Thu Sep 8 201117:00Anthony Gonzalez limited again Thursday
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
Gonzalez has little fantasy appeal this year as the Colts' fourth receiver in a passing game that will struggle with Kerry Collins as the new starter.

Wed Sep 7 201117:22Gonzalez limited on Wednesday
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) was limited in Colts practice Wednesday.
Gonzalez has said he'll be ready for Sunday, but he'll need to turn in at least one full practice before the end of the week. Buried on the depth chart after appearing in just two games the past two seasons, Gonzalez might not be worth a look in deeper leagues even after Peyton Manning returns to action.

Tue Sep 6 201108:53Gonzo still out of practice
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) did not practice Monday.
Gonzalez somehow made the team even though he missed virtually the entire training camp. He'll need to sustain health for an extended period before even thinking about climbing the depth chart. For what it's worth, he says he'll be available for Sunday's opener.

Tue Aug 30 201121:06Gonzalez squarely on the roster bubble
Anthony Gonzalez (hamstring) understands it's a "realistic possibility" he will be released this weekend.
Coach Jim Caldwell did little to clarify matters Tuesday. Caldwell cited Tony Dungy's maxim that the "most important ability is availability," which would seem to hurt the oft-injured Gonzalez. On the other hand, Caldwell acknowledged that Gonzalez "makes something happen" on the rare occasions when he does take the field.

Thu Aug 18 201114:15Gonzalez sidelined with hamstring injury
Anthony Gonzalez is once again missing time with a hamstring injury.
He missed Wednesday's practiced and is questionable for Friday's game against the Redskins. Beat writer Phillip B. Wilson doubts "very seriously" that Gonzalez will be re-signed next year even if he manages to shake his nagging leg injuries and contribute this season.

Mon Aug 8 201116:12Anthony Gonzalez added offseason muscle
Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez added seven pounds this offseason in order to potentially increase his durability.
"I've put on a little bit of weight, intentionally, not fat weight," said Gonzalez. "(I'm) right around 200. I always played at 193. ... I feel stronger." Gonzalez entered camp as the Colts' No. 4 receiver. We have no faith whatsoever that he can stay healthy, but it's not out of the question that he could come into some fantasy value if he makes the final roster.

Fri Aug 5 201108:53Gonzalez confirms this is his last chance
Anthony Gonzalez acknowledged that this season is likely his last chance with the Colts.
Gonzalez enters a contract year desperately trying to prove that he can stay healthy. He reverted to his college training methods this offseason, citing the fact that he never missed a game at Ohio State. But as the Colts' No. 4 receiver, he'll need an injury to become relevant in fantasy.

Fri Jul 29 201112:14Gonzalez cleared for full participation
Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) has been cleared for full participation in training camp.
The good news is the knee injury that ended Gonzalez's season didn't require surgery. The bad news is multiple knee injuries have limited Gonzalez to just three games the past two years. He's not going to enter the season any higher than fourth on the depth chart barring injury.

Thu Jul 7 201115:11Anthony Gonzalez (knee) feels 'great'
Colts WR Austin Collie revealed that Anthony Gonzalez (knee) should be good to go when training camp starts.
"He feels great," said Collie. The odds are against Gonzalez re-capturing his early-career form after losing two years to ongoing knee troubles. He won't be a lock for the Week 1 roster without a healthy and productive August.
