Sat Mar 9 201316:19Cardinals RB Javarris James arrested
Cardinals RB Javarris James was arrested on Thursday for failing to appear in court.
James' rap sheet has been growing since entering the league in 2010. In 2011, he was arrested for marijuana possession, and it was announced last month that he would be suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. An exclusive rights free agent, James hasn't appeared in a game since 2010 with the Colts.

Wed Feb 13 201312:37Javarris James suspended four games
The NFL has suspended Cardinals restricted free agent RB Javarris James for the first four games of next season.
James' violated the league's program for substance abuse. Edgerrin's cousin was a borderline NFL prospect already and is now highly unlikely to get a tender from the Cardinals.

Fri Aug 31 201203:24Javarris James out for the season
Cardinals RB Javarris James is out for the season with a torn ACL.
He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. James tore the ACL in Thursday night's preseason finale. A middling-at-best talent, James was outplayed by unheralded William Powell before suffering the year-ending injury.

Sat Jul 28 201217:36Javarris James to miss 'week or more'
Cardinals RB Javarris James will be sidelined a "week or more" with an abductor muscle injury.
It's a hip injury for the third-year runner, who spent 2011 out of football after appearing in 10 games for the Colts as a rookie. If James' timeline holds to its "or more" portion, his already slim chances of cracking the Cardinals' 53-man roster could be toast.

Mon May 14 201217:59Cardinals sign four players
Cardinals signed RB Javarris James, K/P Ricky Schmitt, CB Larry Parker, and S Eddie Elder.
Elder and Parker are UDFAs. The Cards could have aimed higher for a No. 5 back, but settled for Edgerrin's younger brother. James is a subpar talent with appeal only as a short-yardage runner. Schmitt can both placekick and punt.

Sun May 13 201220:26Javarris James attends Cardinals minicamp
Free agent RB Javarris James participated in the Cardinals' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
Another notable Cardinals tryout player was former Rams WR Keenan Burton. James, 24, was waived by the Colts at final cuts last season and spent the year out of football. He has below-average talent, but is keeping the dream alive.

Sat Sep 3 201113:31Colts waive RB Javarris James
Colts waived RB Javarris James.
James earned fantasy appeal in touchdown-heavy leagues last season as the Colts' desperation goal-line back, scoring six times on just 46 rush attempts. Edgerrin's little brother is just a borderline NFL talent. His release could be a sign that undrafted rookie Darren Evans has made the roster.

Fri Jun 10 201117:38Report: Javarris James arrested for marijuana
The News-Times in Miami reports that Colts RB Javarris James was arrested Thursday night for marijuana possession in Fort Myers, Florida.
The charge is a misdeamanor. NFL players are obviously smoking, or at least possessing, plenty of marijuana while lockout rules prohibit personal-conduct suspensions. That doesn't mean they won't go into effect after a new CBA. James, 23, was signed off the Redskins' practice squad last October and scored six fluky touchdowns as a short-yardage back. He didn't have a bright NFL future to begin with, and the arrest certainly won't help.

Sun Dec 26 201014:50James among Colts inactives
Colts declared Javarris James inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Mike Hart (ankle) is also inactive, showing how confident the Colts are in Joseph Addai's health. Other Colts inactives: G Jacques McClendon, G Jaimie Thomas, DT Daniel Muir, LB Clint Session, CB Kelvin Hayden and S Al Afalava.
Wed Dec 22 201020:02Javarris James to be odd man out?
The Indianapolis Star suggests that Javarris James will be the odd man out of the Colts' backfield with Joseph Addai (neck/shoulder) and Mike Hart (ankle) both making progress in their recoveries.
James has practice squad eligibility, and probably isn't talented enough to generate much interest on waivers. Dominic Rhodes is expected to keep his spot at the end of the tailback depth chart. Donald Brown obviously "isn't going anywhere," so by the start of the playoffs the Colts' backfield could evolve into a Brown-Addai-Hart rotation with Rhodes as fourth string.

Fri Dec 10 201000:04Javarris James finds end zone again in win
Javarris James led the Colts with 17 rushes for 49 yards and a touchdown against the Titans in Week 14.
James is a below-average NFL talent, but he continues to show a nose for the end zone. The Colts entrusted him with the feature back role down the stretch, and he outplayed a thoroughly underwhelming Donald Brown for a second straight week. The 17 touches were easily a career-high. He could be in line for a similar workload next week depending on the health of Joseph Addai and Mike Hart.
Sun Dec 5 201020:23James punches in two goal line looks for TDs
Javarris James carried the ball six times for 18 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts' Week 13 loss.
James was the most impressive of the team's running trio, though he started his day late with Dallas' defense already worn down. He punched in both of his goal line looks, and made a strong case for being active when Joseph Addai returns. It will be interesting to see which runner gets scratched once that happens.
Sun Nov 28 201023:35James receives just two carries
Javarris James picked up zero yards on two carries and had three receptions for 22 yards in the Week 12 loss to the Chargers.
James has been the team's goal-line back the last few weeks but didn't get a chance Sunday night. He remains a sketchy fantasy play, at best, even with Joseph Addai out, and he'll likely be inactive once Addai is ready.
Sat Nov 27 201011:44Javarris James could draw start for Colts
Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star expects RB Javarris James (questionable, knee) to play in Week 12.
Wilson also speculates that Mike Hart (questionable, ankle) will join Joseph Addai (doubtful, neck/shoulder) on the sideline for Week 12 against San Diego, making James the likely backup to Donald Brown. The Colts/Chargers game figures to turn into an aerial shootout, making James an unattractive option.

Sun Nov 14 201017:44Javarris James vultures another score
Javarris James was held to 26 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries against the Bengals in Week 10.
James showed nice leg drive to power in from three yards out early in the second quarter. The Colts goal-line back of the moment now has three scores in the last two games. His role for Week 11 may hinge on the health of Jospeh Adddai and Mike Hart.
Sun Nov 7 201020:31Javarris James picks up two touchdowns
Javarris James rushed four times for 12 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
James played exclusively in the Colts' goal-line package and converted both his chances. He won't stick as the goal-line back once the Colts' backfield gets healthy, but for now his role is defined.
Tue Nov 2 201001:34Javarris James makes NFL debut in 30-17 win
Javarris James ran three times for four yards in Monday's Week 8 win over Houston, 30-17.
James gashed through a huge hole on his 7-yard run, but posted negative numbers on his other two. He should not be added in any formats just yet, but it's worth getting James' name out there as the three backs ahead of him on the depth chart are all banged up.
Thu Oct 7 201011:26James signed by Colts
Colts signed RB Javarris James off the Redskins' practice squad.
Donald Brown is really struggling with his hamstring injury and appears headed for another inactive day again this week. James will only get touches behind Joseph Addai and Mike Hart in an extreme emergency.

Wed Oct 6 201011:38Skins' sign Javarris James to practice squad
Redskins signed RB Javarris James to the practice squad.
James may be the cousin of Edgerrin, but the two are light years apart in talent. Don't expect him to see NFL carries any time soon.

Wed Sep 15 201011:22James to get the call with Maroney gone
The Patriots are expected to sign RB Javarris James off their practice squad to replace Laurence Maroney, according to Scout.com's Adam Caplan.
This would be a confusing move. The Patriots already have four healthy running backs on the roster and James is a fringe talent at best. Edgerrin's brother is not in the mix for carries, even if he is active Sunday.
