Sun Nov 24 201318:06Chris Givens held without a catch in win
Chris Givens was held without a catch on six targets in St. Louis' Week 12 win over the Bears.
Givens had one grab overturned by penalty, and another upheld as a no-catch on review. He was drawing looks deep, but just couldn't hook up with Kellen Clemens. The zero-catch effort was Givens' first of the season. Givens has some legitimate deep skills, but hasn't been able to translate them to WR4 status. That should remain the case going forward.

Sun Nov 10 201317:39Chris Givens has two-catch afternoon vs. IND
Chris Givens caught two passes for 54 yards in St. Louis' Week 10 win over the Colts.
Givens wasn't even the Rams' primary deep threat, with that honor going to rookie Tavon Austin. Givens' skill-set remains intriguing, but held below 60 yards in nine of 10 games this season, he's not a legitimate fantasy option in re-draft leagues with Kellen Clemens at quarterback.

Sun Nov 3 201316:12Chris Givens goes for 55 yards in Rams loss
Chris Givens caught four balls for 55 yards in the Rams' Week 9 loss to the Titans.
Givens hauled in a 25-yarder on St. Louis' final, desperation drive but was otherwise fairly quiet. A Mike Wallace-type player, Rams haven't been able to get him the football downfield this season. Givens would be a poor WR3 gamble against Vontae Davis and the Colts' stingy pass defense in Week 10.

Tue Oct 29 201300:48Givens reels in four passes for 59 yards Mon.
Chris Givens caught four passes for 59 yards in Week 8 against the Seahawks.
Givens was targeted five times and the receiving yards total was his second-highest output of the season. He's simply not burning defensive backs at the rate he was as a rookie last season. And with Kellen Clemens now under center, we wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon. Givens did his work on slant patterns Monday night. His upside has been sapped. Givens is a WR4 moving forward.

Sun Oct 6 201316:48Chris Givens held in check by Jags
Chris Givens caught two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 5 win over the Jags.
Givens led the Rams with seven targets -- marking the fourth straight game he's had seven or more passes come his way. The difference was that this time, Givens couldn't corral any deep balls from Sam Bradford. Givens remains the No. 1 option in St. Louis' passing and will be a WR3 at Houston in Week 6.

Fri Sep 27 201301:49Chris Givens catches four passes for 49 yards
Chris Givens caught four passes for 49 yards in Week 4 against the 49ers.
Givens started and played the entire game despite being limited this week with a knee injury. He finished behind both Jared Cook and Austin Pettis with eight targets. Givens is the Rams' top outside receiver, but has struggled to get anything going down the field with Sam Bradford the last two weeks. He should find more success in next Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars.

Wed Sep 25 201317:15Chris Givens probable for Thursday night
Chris Givens (knee) is listed as probable for Thursday night's Week 4 tilt with the 49ers.
Givens sat out of practice on Monday but got in two "full" sessions Tuesday and Wednesday. He'll be all systems go. Givens was suspended for one game against San Francisco last season. He caught 11 passes for 92 yards in the other. Treat Givens as a WR4 this week against a top-eight pass defense.

Tue Sep 24 201320:04Chris Givens returns to full practice Tuesday
Chris Givens (knee) returned to a full practice Tuesday.
Givens sat out on Monday. The Rams were just giving their No. 1 receiver a day off after the team was clobbered by Dallas the previous day. Givens is on the WR4 radar this week against the 49ers on Thursday night.

Mon Sep 23 201319:57Chris Givens (knee) doesn't practice Monday
Chris Givens (knee) did not participate in Rams practice Monday.
The Rams practiced lightly for about an hour after getting shellacked by the Cowboys on Sunday. They released an injury report because they play Thursday night versus the 49ers. Givens played his normal amount of snaps Sunday, so we have no reason to believe the injury is serious. Keep an eye on him.

Sun Sep 15 201318:29Givens goes for 105 yards in loss to Falcons
Chris Givens hauled in five passes for 105 yards in Sunday's Week 2 loss to Atlanta.
Givens finished behind both Tavon Austin and Austin Pettis in targets, but he posted the most yards of the trio. A true big-play threat, Givens had one of his patented long gains. He picked up 47 yards on a third-and-10 play in the second quarter with the Rams trailing 21-0. A week after mostly being shut down by Patrick Peterson, Givens returned to form. He'll square off against the Cowboys next week.

Sun Sep 8 201320:34Chris Givens held to two catches on 3 targets
Chris Givens was held to two catches for 27 yards in St. Louis' Week 1 win over the Cardinals.
Givens was targeted just three times, and simply got erased by Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson. It's a consequence of the extra attention Givens is going to receive this season after establishing himself as a legitimate deep threat last season, and the loss of Danny Amendola. He's still an intriguing WR3/4. Givens will get a chance to bounce back against the Falcons next Sunday, who could be without CB Asante Samuel (thigh).

Sat Aug 24 201322:18Givens reels in one pass in tune-up game
Chris Givens caught one pass for 17 yards in Saturday night's preseason game against Denver.
Givens was targeted three times on the night, but he and Sam Bradford weren't on the same page on a third-down pass. Givens ran a go route, while Bradford threw the slant. The second-year receiver is clearly Bradford's top outside weapon, and he has five catches for 156 yards and a touchdown through three preseason games. Givens' route tree is developing, and he's on the WR3/4 radar.

Sun Aug 18 201300:05Rams WR Givens continues sterling preseason
Chris Givens caught a 57-yard bomb in the Rams' second preseason game Saturday night versus Green Bay.
He was targeted twice on the night; the incompletion should have drawn a pass interference flag on Davon House. Through two exhibition games, Givens has four receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown on five targets. He's oozing big-play ability and an obvious second-year receiver breakout candidate.

Tue Aug 13 201308:57Chris Givens impressed throughout camp
According to the Post-Dispatch, "no Rams receiver has been more consistent" than Chris Givens during training camp.
Givens got lost in St. Louis' offseason headlines stolen by Jared Cook and Tavon Austin. But he burst back onto the scene in Thursday's preseason opener, recording a 3/82/1 line while playing just 11 snaps. There's evidence that he's more than the mere straight-line speedster he was a rookie, giving him heaps of upside. The explosive Givens is ticketed for an every-down role.

Sat Aug 10 201311:03Chris Givens practicing at all 3 WR positions
Chris Givens has lined up at all three wide receiver positions in Rams camp.
Givens was a one-trick-pony, deep-ball specialist as a rookie. The Rams want his route tree to diversify as a sophomore, and it showed up in Thursday's preseason opener as Givens burned the Browns' defense on receptions of 3, 20, and 59 yards. Through the first week of exhibition games, there aren't many bigger fantasy risers than Givens, who's shaping up as a high-ceiling WR3.

Thu Aug 8 201321:21Givens shines in preseason opener vs. Browns
Chris Givens caught three passes for 82 yards and a touchdown in Thursday night's preseason opener versus the Browns.
Givens roasted backup corner Trevin Wade down the middle of the field for a 59-yard gain on the Rams' third possession, and he then caught a simple three-yard touchdown while sitting in the back of the end zone later on the same drive. The second-year wideout is clearly the Rams' top outside weapon, and his deep speed is easily the best on the team. Givens is a borderline WR4.

Tue Jul 16 201318:45Rams list Givens as starter on camp chart
Chris Givens is listed as a starter on the Rams' training camp depth chart.
As he should be. Ticketed for a bigger role after excelling as a deep-ball specialist as a rookie, Givens is perhaps the only known commodity in the Rams' nebulous receiver corps. Givens is currently the 44th receiver off the board by ADP, coming in just behind DeAndre Hopkins, and ahead of Emmanuel Sanders.

Sun Jun 9 201314:22Chris Givens has more diverse role now
Sam Bradford says second-year WR Chris Givens will play a more diverse role after primarily serving as a streak-route runner as a rookie.
"Where last year he primarily played the `Z' for us, now he's also being asked to play inside," Bradford explained. "He's being asked to go backside and play `X'. He's a really, really smart football player; he understands our offense and I think by moving him to different spots in our offense, he'll be able to run more routes." Bradford expects Givens to have a "great" year in 2013.

Tue May 28 201310:41Chris Givens added more muscle
Chris Givens has added more muscle this offseason.
Givens came into the league at just 5'11/198. Adding some size while retaining his special vertical speed will help, but the concern this year is opportunity. Givens will be behind Tavon Austin, Jared Cook and Brian Quick in a suddenly fast Rams' offense.

Thu Mar 21 201312:18Chris Givens primed for big role in STL
Coach Jeff Fisher noted Chris Givens' versatility grew as his rookie season moved along.
Givens was initially a one-trick pony, using his 4.4 speed to run vertical routes. But by the end of the year, he was on his way to being a polished wideout. "He improved weekly," Fisher said. "We were able to do more and more with him as he got more familiar." Now that Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson are both gone, Givens is penciled in as the Rams' No. 1 wideout. "I think he knows that this is his opportunity," Fisher said.
