Fri Aug 7 201514:20Floyd (fingers) without return timetable
Floyd (fingers) is without a return timetable, Kent Somers of azcentral sports reports.
Floyd had surgery to repair three dislocated fingers earlier this week, an injury coach Bruce Arians called "unique" in nature. Multiple reports have speculated that Floyd could miss somewhere between three and six weeks, putting his availability for the start of the regular season in jeopardy.
Thu Aug 6 201517:31Michael Floyd: (Fingers) Undergoes Surgery
Floyd underwent surgery to repair three dislocated fingers on his left hand late Wednesday night, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Floyd's recovery timetable has been the subject of numerous reports, including 4-to-6 weeks from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports and 3-to-4 weeks from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the latter of which was confirmed by Weinfuss. The preceding are mere expectations rather than set in stone, but Friday's scheduled news conference with head coach Bruce Arians has the potential to clarify Floyd's potential return date. In any case, the wideout should be watched closely over the next few weeks to learn if he'll be available for the regular season opener on Sept. 13 against the Saints.
Wed Aug 5 201520:32Michael Floyd: (Fingers) Timetable Amended to 3-to-4 Weeks
Floyd suffered three dislocated fingers in Wednesday's practice, and his recovery timetable has been amended to 3-to-4 weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Per an NFL source, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports initially reported that Floyd would miss six weeks due to broken fingers. However, with further clarification of the injury, the time line has decreased in kind. Floyd's recovery will continue to be monitored closely as Week 1 approaches, but there's a chance that he could be ready for the start of the regular season.
Wed Aug 5 201519:40Michael Floyd: Out Six Weeks With Broken Fingers
Floyd has been diagnosed with three broken fingers on his left hand, which will sideline him about six weeks, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
After sustaining the injury in Wednesday's practice, Floyd's hand and lower left arm were held by a trainer en route to the locker room, likely as a stabilizing measure. If Floyd follows the given time line, he'll be eligible to return to the fold for Week 2 in Chicago, at the earliest. In the meantime, his absence will give Larry Fitzgerald and burner John Brown a boost in the target department, while similarly elevating Jaron Brown, Brittan Golden, and J.J. Nelson up the depth chart.
Wed Aug 5 201517:58Michael Floyd: Leaves Wednesday With Hand Injury
Floyd left Wednesday's practice due to an injured left hand, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Any hand injury to a footballer is expected to have an impact, no matter the severity, but receivers are especially susceptible to such concerns. Making matters worse, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reported that during his walk off the field, Floyd's left arm and hand were held by a trainer. The Cardinals are sure to relay the diagnosis, once it becomes known, but the early signs aren't positive.

Floyd was sidelined during the Cardinals' minicamp last week due to a hamstring concern, the Cardinals' official site reports.
On the first day of minicamp, Floyd sat out with what head coach Bruce Arians deemed "a slight hamstring tweak," according to Craig Grialou of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. Instead, Floyd worked on the side, which indicates the minor nature of the injury and the likelihood that he'll achieve full health in time for the start of training camp on Aug. 1. Even though John Brown is expected to take up a larger portion of the offensive snaps in 2015, Floyd is a decent bet to tally the second 1,000-yard season of his career.

Floyd is not practicing at minicamp Tuesday because of a minor hamstring tweak, Craig Grialou of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports reports.
Floyd has yet to miss a game through three NFL seasons, and there's no indication of his injury being serious. More important, QB Carson Palmer (torn ACL) is making good progress, with all signs pointing toward him starting against the Saints in Week 1. Floyd thus has a nice opportunity to bounce back from his disappointing 2014, although there's been no shortage of hype surrounding second-year wideout John Brown. If Palmer stays healthy, there should be enough targets to go around, especially with Larry Fitzgerald another year older.

The Cardinals exercised their fifth-year option on the Floyd's contract, the team's official site reports.
Floyd, the 13th overall pick in the 2012 draft, is thus under contract with the team for the 2016 season, though his salary is guaranteed for injury only. As a result of the move, Floyd -- who will make $1.75 million this coming season -- is now in line to earn about $7.3 million in 2016. In his third NFL campaign (in 2014), Floyd saw an overall dip in his production (47/841/6), but he's a candidate for a bounce-back this coming season, with added stability at the team's QB position presumably on tap, assuming Carson Palmer's health.

Floyd caught 2-of-8 targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 35-6 loss to the Seahawks.
Floyd made a 32-yard catch over Richard Sherman in the third quarter, when Ryan Lindley surprisingly threw a perfect pass to beat strong coverage. The play was an aberration, as the Cardinals otherwise found it tough to complete even shorter passes, with Lindley finishing just 18-of-44 for 216 yards. Floyd tied John Brown for second on the team in targets, trailing only Larry Fitzgerald's 11. Remarkably disappointing since Week 3, Floyd will be a shaky option for Week 17 against the 49ers, even if Drew Stanton (knee) returns.

Floyd caught 2-of-3 targets for 55 yards in Thursday's 12-6 win over the Rams.
Floyd blew past the defense for a 49-yard reception in the first half, and he drew a 36-yard pass interference penalty in the third quarter. He also got a look deep down the field on the game's opening drive, but it didn't count as an official target because of a defensive penalty. Floyd thus finished fifth on the team with just three targets, though he was a bit more involved than that number would seem to indicate. He's still been one of the bigger disappointments at wide receiver this season, and Week 16 doesn't offer much hope for a breakout. Drew Stanton was forced out of Thursday's game with a knee injury, leaving Ryan Lindley as the possible starter for a dreadful Week 16 matchup with the Seahawks.

Floyd corralled four balls (on seven targets) for 85 yards during Sunday's victory against the Chiefs.
With his running mate, Larry Fitzgerald (knee), back in the fold after a two-game absence, Floyd found more room to operate and proceeded to put together his most productive outing, yard-wise, since Week 3. Floyd's most-lengthy reception, a 45-yarder, placed the Cardinals in the red zone during their first possession of the second half, which was eventually converted into their third field goal of the contest. He'll next take on a Rams defense Thursday that has held wide receivers to an amazing 9.6 YPC in back-to-back shutouts of Oakland and Washington.

Floyd caught 5-of-9 targets for 53 yards in Sunday's loss at Atlanta. He also lost a fumble.
Floyd followed up last week's goose egg by posting solid, albeit unspectacular numbers. He made a tough grab in traffic at one point, but negated the positive play with a fumble, as he fought for extra yardage. He's been very inconsistent this season, although he's generally performed better with Drew Stanton at QB, as opposed to Carson Palmer. In any event, Floyd will have a tough task next week, facing the Chiefs, who have the stingiest pass defense in the league.

Floyd was held without a catch, getting just two targets, in Sunday's 19-3 loss at Seattle.
It was a tough matchup against Richard Sherman and company, but there's really no excuse for a catchless performance, especially given Floyd's physical talent. In fact, it was Floyd's second zero-catch outing in the last month. In any event, he'll look to rebound next week at Atlanta.

Floyd caught 2-of-5 targets for 54 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 14-6 win over the Lions.
Floyd provided all the offense for the Cardinals, with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns. The first score came on a pretty 42-yard bomb, in which Floyd simply boxed out a defender in the end zone, and his second touchdown from 12-yards out, showed his length and leaping ability. Unfortunately, Floyd didn't have any other receptions, although Drew Stanton underthrew him when he was open on a long ball at one point in the first half. One thing of concern for Floyd is that he tends to disappear in the second half of games; he scored first half touchdowns in both Weeks 6 and 7, but did literally nothing over the final 30 minutes of each game. On a positive note, he's shown a good rapport with Stanton this year, especially on deeper routes. He'll have his hands full next week, facing Seattle on the road.

Floyd played 58 of the Cardinals' 66 offensive snaps during Sunday's win over the Rams, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Floyd earned run-of-the-mill looks in the offense, but his production lagged for a third consecutive game, a span in which he's accumulated five catches (on 13 targets) for 47 yards and no touchdowns. He was seemingly on pace for a breakout campaign after recording two 100-yard receiving efforts in the first three contests this season. However, he's failed to surpass 50 yards one time in Arizona's past six outings, despite picking up five targets per game during that stretch. Perhaps his knee is more of a bother than the team is letting on, but his upcoming opponent, the Lions, hasn't exactly been yielding to wideouts in 2014, giving up a league-best four scores to the position through nine tilts. As a result, owners may want to turn to a more reliable option in Week 11, if one exists.

Floyd (knee) had four catches on five targets for 36 yards Sunday against the Cowboys.
One week after getting completely shut out on four targets, Floyd was at least able to catch a pass, though he wasn't able to get any long gains down the field. Floyd's been very up-and-down this season, with his fantasy value very dependent on breaking one or two long pass plays per game, which makes him a very inconsistent fantasy performer. Up next is a Week 10 matchup against a Rams defense that is much better against the pass than the run this season.
Sun Nov 2 201411:44Floyd (knee) active for Sunday's game in Dallas
Floyd (knee) is active for Sunday's game in Dallas, the Cardinals' official site reports.
One week removed from his first catch-free outing since Week 2 of the 2012 season, Floyd is a decent bet to prosper against a Cowboys defense that has given up 13.3 YPC and nine touchdowns to wideouts this year.
Fri Oct 31 201417:40Floyd (knee) probable for Sunday's game against Dallas
Floyd (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against Dallas.
Floyd practiced fully all week, so his health isn't in question. His up-and-down role makes him a bit more hit-or-miss than his owners probably anticipated when they selected him early in drafts prior to the season, however.
Wed Oct 29 201420:18Michael Floyd: (Knee) Practices Fully Wednesday
Floyd (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
During Sunday's win against the Eagles, Floyd came up gimpy on a deep throw down the right sideline en route to a catch-free day on four targets. The blank outing was his first since Week 2 of his rookie campaign in 2012, so owners can expect somewhat of a return to normalcy Sunday at Dallas, who have surrendered 12.6 YPC to wide receivers this season.

Floyd didn't catch any of the four passes thrown his way in Sunday's 24-20 win over Philadelphia.
Floyd nearly scored on a fairly long touchdown in the first half, but the ball bounced off his shoulder in traffic. Carson Palmer didn't have his best game, completing only 48 percent of his passes, although that's not entirely reassuring to Floyd owners. He'll look to get back on track next week against the Cowboys.
