No game this season was worse than his Week 11 performance, however, as the veteran back managed to lose nine yards on his only two carries, resulting in negative points for any fantasy owners still counting on him. The Cleveland backfield is an interesting situation to monitor moving forward, as it appears Crowell currently has the upper hand for carries, despite losing a costly fumble in the redzone during the second quarter of Sunday's game. Coach Mike Pettine has consistently stated that the role of feature back would be awarded to whoever has the best practice week, and based on the recent carry distribution, that clearly hasn't been Tate. Pettine also stated during his news conference that he wouldn't speak about any attitude problem or off-field issue regarding Tate, suggesting there may be another variable in play here. All hope isn't lost just yet, but the way things are trending, Tate will likely be a tough fantasy option to rely on moving forward.

Tate had two carries for minus-9 yards while failing to catch his only target during Sunday's loss to the Texans.

Crowell finished with 14 carries for 61 yards, while Terrence West put up 12 yards on five carries. After rushing for 124 yards in Week 5 and then scoring two touchdowns in Week 6, Tate has failed to gain even 40 rushing yards in any of his last six games, including two with fewer than four rushing yards. There is just too much movement in the Browns' backfield to rely on Tate, especially with Crowell and West outplaying him of late, making him a rough start in Week 12, even against a Falcons defense that is tied with the Panthers for allowing the most rushing touchdowns this season.

Each of the three running backs scored a touchdown but Tate was the only one with a target or reception. Tate's score came from four yards out on the Browns' first possession, after West carried the ball on each of the first four plays of the drive. West dominated the carries late in the fourth quarter, as the split for most of the game was much more even than the final stats indicate. While this represents an improvement from last week for Tate, he'll have a hard time reaching double-digit carries if the Browns stick with a three-headed backfield. Given the solid results Thursday, it won't be surprising if the Browns opt for a similar approach next Sunday against the Texans.

Tate had 10 carries for three rushing yards and four catches on four targets for 29 receiving yards Sunday against the Buccaneers.

There was some speculation before Sunday's game that rookie Terrance West may get a bigger share of the backfield work and that's exactly what happened, as he rushed 15 times for 48 yards. After rushing 27 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns in Weeks 5 and 6 combined, Tate is averaging 13.6 carries for 21.6 yards in the last three games. There appears to be little reason to let him run loose at this point, with West the likely player to lead the backfield Thursday against the Bengals, who allow the fourth-most rushing yards per game this season.

Tate had 15 carries for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-13 win over Oakland. He also caught one pass on his lone target for eight yards.

The entire Cleveland offense struggled at Jacksonville last week, and that was the case Sunday, until they scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, including a five-yard score from Tate. Meanwhile, Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West combined to run for just 12 yards on eight carries. Since a 22-carry, 124-yard performance in Week 5, Tate hasn't been impressive on a per-play basis, averaging just 2.5 YPC, although some of that coincides with the loss of C Alex Mack (broken fibula). Despite his recent struggles, Tate is likely to remain the team's starter, but just keep in mind that Crowell and West are talented enough to take on a much larger role. Next week, Tate will face Tampa Bay, which has struggled to stop the run this year.

The entire Browns' offense surprisingly struggled in what should have been a favorable matchup, at least in theory. Despite the mediocre performance, Tate still got most of the work, as Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West combined to rush for only 26 yards on 13 carries. Tate could potentially bounce back next week, facing a below-average Raiders' rush defense.

Tate got in another strong week of practice, and as expected, will take the lead role in the Browns' backfield. He'll face a mediocre Jacksonville run defense that has averaged 117.2 yards per game on the ground over their first six contests. The 26-year-old back has recorded games of 22 and 25 carries since returning from a knee injury earlier this year, and should see a similar workload Sunday afternoon.

Tate had 25 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 31-10 win over the Steelers.

Tate's season-high 25 carries followed up his 22-carry, 124-yard performance in Week 5 against the Titans, as the Browns continue to run him as much as they can when he's healthy. Of course, that's been the issue this season, as Sunday's game was only Tate's third of the year. Backup Isaiah Crowell finished with 11 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown, which came before Tate's two scores, but as long as Tate is healthy, he should continue to get a majority of the carries.
