Vereen (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, the Patriots' official site reports.
Of the 12 Patriots listed as limited Wednesday, we suspect that Vereen is among those whose Week 16 status is actually closer to probable than questionable. We'll continue to track the running back's stats as Sunday's game against the Jets approaches, in any case.

Vereen carried six times for five yards and a TD and caught one pass for 12 yards in Sunday's 41-13 win over the Dolphins.
The TD salvaged the day for Vereen from a fantasy perspective, but with Jonas Gray (11 carries for 62 yards) and LeGarrette Blount (eight carries for 17 yards) also in the team's backfield mix, Vereen figures to be a hit-or-miss option down the stretch, given his sporadic involvement in the Patriots' passing game of late.

Vereen (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
With LeGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray (along with Brandon Bolden to a lesser extent) also in the mix for carries, Vereen's fantasy utility continues to hinge on his usage in the Patriots' passing game, an area in which he has been relatively quiet over the team's last two games, in which Vereen has combined for four catches for 56 yards.

Vereen (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, the Patriots' official site reports.
Vereen is one of nine New England players to draw a questionable designation this week, though what his workload might be Sunday is presumably more of a question mark than his actual availability for Week 15's contest.

Vereen (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday, the Patriots' official site reports.
We'll circle back on Vereen's status Friday, but there's no indication that he is in any danger of missing Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Vereen (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, the Patriots' official site reports.
Vereen has been limited at practice over the past couple of weeks, and with no injury setbacks that we know of, we suspect that he will be available Sunday against the Dolphins.

Vereen had three receptions for 30 yards on four targets, adding one carry for one yard, in Sunday's 23-14 win over the Chargers.
Vereen and LeGarrette Blount appeared to have a fairly even split of the snaps, but with Vereen unsurprisingly getting most of his playing time on passing plays, Blount dominated the touches. Jonas Gray wasn't much of a factor, contributing just two carries for nine yards. A Week 15 matchup with the fading Miami defense seemingly favors another heavy workload for Blount, though Vereen should still have a role in the passing game.

Vereen (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
With LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden and Jonas Gray also available to handle carries, Vereen's Week 14 fantasy utility hinges on his usage in the Patriots' passing game, an area in which he is a bounce-back candidate Sunday, after hauling in just one catch last weekend against Green Bay.

Vereen (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, ESPN.com reports.
Vereen is one of 10 New England players listed as questionable this week, though what his workload might be Sunday night is presumably more of a question mark than his actual Week 14 availability.

Vereen (ankle) was one of 10 New England players listed as limited at practice Wednesday, the Patriots' official site reports.
Of that group, we suspect that Vereen is among those whose status is actually closer to probable than questionable this week, after the running back made it through Week 13's game against Green Bay with no reported setbacks.

Vereen (ankle) had a disappointing performance in Sunday's 26-21 loss at Green Bay, rushing for six yards on three carries, while catching just 1-of-2 targets for 26 yards. He did lead the Patriots in unofficial snaps, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
The game flow actually favored Vereen, as the Patriots trailed throughout. Tom Brady just did not look his way, however, and Vereen also dropped an easy pass in the second half. Meanwhile, LeGarrette Blount had 10 carries for 58 yards and Brandon Bolden emerged, rushing three times for 17 yards and a touchdown. Jonas Gray seems to be the odd man out at the moment, but the Patriots' backfield is so unpredictable from week-to-week, making it tough to know when to use Vereen. In any case, Vereen will face the Chargers in Week 14.

Vereen (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Packers, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
Vereen could see enough pass-catching opportunities to retain some flex/PPR utility this week, but with power backs LeGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray also on hand to take aim at a Green Bay defense that is allowing an average of 136.7 yards per game on the ground, Vereen may not be looking at a high volume of carries on Sunday.

Vereen (ankle) is one of eight players listed as questionable by the Patriots for Sunday's game against the Packers, the team's official site reports.
Vereen practiced in a limited fashion all week, so we suspect that he will be out there this weekend, though his status will be worth verifying in advance of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff. Assuming he does suit up, Vereen should see enough pass-catching opportunities to retain flex/PPR utility this week, but with LeGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray also on hand, his carry volume could be hit-or-miss moving forward.

Vereen (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday, weei.com reports.
We'd be surprised if Vereen wasn't available for Sunday's 4:25 ET game against the Packers, but a probable designation in advance of that contest would no doubt be of comfort to those planning to use Vereen in Week 13.
Wed Nov 26 201417:00Vereen (ankle) limited at practice Wednesday
Vereen (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday, NESN.com reports.
Vereen was one of nine Patriots who were listed as limited at Wednesday's practice, and while his status is now worth following in the coming days, so far there is nothing to suggest that his availability for Sunday's game against the Packers is in danger.

Vereen led New England running backs with 62 snaps on offense in Sunday's 34-9 win over the Lions, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports. Vereen finished the game with eight carries for 12 yards and eight catches for 48 yards.
Meanwhile, LeGarrette Blount saw 17 snaps, while Brandon Bolden saw two and Week 11 star Jonas Gray (who was benched after oversleeping and missing practice Friday) saw zero. While Vereen's role in the New England offense if often game-plan/game-flow dependent, he figures to remain involved enough as a pass-catcher most weeks to retain flex/PPR utility.
Sun Nov 16 201423:57Vereen played 20 snaps in Sunday's win over Colts
Vereen played 20 snaps in Sunday's win over the Colts, compared to 53 for Jonas Gray, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
Vereen caught 4-of-4 targets for 59 yards, adding one carry for 18 yards, while Gray exploded for a shocking 38-199-4 rushing line. The Patriots have mostly favored Vereen since Stevan Ridley (knee) went down for the season, but Gray did have 17 carries for 86 yards back in a Week 8 blowout of the Bears. In between the two strong showings, Gray had 12 carries for 33 yards against the Broncos, with much of his work coming in garbage time. While Vereen still has the same role as ever, he's in danger of losing touches if the Patriots have renewed faith in their power running game. But, next week brings a matchup that should favor Vereen, with New England facing the excellent Lions defense.

Vereen had 11 carries for 29 yards and caught 5-of-10 passes for 38 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 43-21 win against Denver.
Vereen rebounded from a disappointing performance last week, scoring a five-yard touchdown right before halftime. Meanwhile, Jonas Gray had 12 carries for 33 yards, although more than half of his production came late in the game, with the Patriots trying to run out the clock. Both Gray and Vereen saw snaps around the goal line, but neither player scored on the ground. No other running back touched the ball for the Patriots on Sunday, so it's starting to become obvious that Gray will serve as the "big back" while Vereen will be heavily involved as a pass catcher, with meaningful carries sprinkled in.

Vereen (illness) carried five times for 22 yards and caught three passes for 23 yards in Sunday's 51-23 win over the Bears.
Meanwhile, Jonas Gray -- who had just three carries in Week 7 -- finished the game with 17 carries for 86 yards, essentially working in the heavy-lifting role previously held by Stevan Ridley. In the the coming weeks, there should be added opportunities for Vereen, but they will often be game-plan/flow dependent, which hampers his fantasy reliability in non-PPR formats.

Vereen (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bears.
With Stevan Ridley out for the season, look for Vereen to head the Patriots' Week 8 rushing attack, as he did in Week 7, though we wouldn't be surprised to see Jonas Gray -- in a complementary role -- see more than the three carries he recorded last time out. Meanwhile, Brandon Bolden is also on hand in a reserve capacity.
