Fri Sep 13 201313:43Posey 'a few weeks away' from contributing
Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Friday WR DeVier Posey is at least "a few weeks away" from being a game-day contributor.
Coming off a late-season 2012 Achilles' tear, Posey was among the Texans' Week 1 inactives. He'll stay that way until he regains "confidence and what he's doing in physical shape." When Posey does return, he could overtake Keshawn Martin in three-receiver sets with Nuk Hopkins and Andre Johnson.

Thu Sep 5 201318:39DeVier Posey practicing in full for MNF
DeVier Posey (Achilles' tendon) is practicing in full for Week 1.
Posey should be on a snap count against the Chargers after making just one preseason appearance, but his lightning fast return (eight months) is complete. Fifth on the depth chart for now, Posey isn't a fantasy consideration.

Wed Aug 28 201308:15DeVier Posey to get about 12 plays Thursday
DeVier Posey (Achilles') is expected to play in Thursday's preseason finale.
Posey is just eight months removed from his Achilles' rupture. He'll be eased in for about 12 plays as the Texans get a look at his progress. Posey will start off behind Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins, Keshawn Martin and Lestar Jean.

Mon Aug 19 201314:24Texans activate DeVier Posey from PUP list
Texans activated WR DeVier Posey from the active/PUP list.
Posey suffered the Achilles' tear in January's playoffs. His comeback was highly impressive, and encouraging for fellow Achilles' patients like Michael Crabtree. Posey will battle for the rest of training camp for a 45-man game-day spot. His primary competition will be Keshawn Martin behind Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins. Just don't expect 2013 fantasy impact from Posey.

Wed Aug 14 201312:46DeVier Posey making rapid return
Coach Gary Kubiak said WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') is close to being activated from the PUP list.
It's a remarkably fast return for Posey, who blew out his heel during the playoffs. "I can almost dunk now," he said. "It's pretty amazing." A third-round pick last year, Posey had just six catches for 87 yards as a rookie.

Thu Jul 25 201320:16DeVier Posey starts Texans camp on PUP
Texans placed WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') on the active/PUP list.
Posey tore his Achilles' in the playoff loss to the Patriots, and he's just six months removed from surgery. The second-year wideout did some on-field running and agility work at minicamp practices last month, but he still has work to do before he finds his way onto the field for team drills.

Tue Jun 11 201316:31Posey (Achilles') resumes on-field work
Texans WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') has resumed on-field running and agility work.
Posey is rehabbing on the side field just five months after tearing his Achilles' tendon in the Texans' Divisional Round loss. He's still a good bet to begin the year on the PUP list, but it's clear Posey will get on the field at some point in 2013.

Tue Jun 4 201319:34Kubiak expects Posey to play this season
Texans coach Gary Kubiak fully expects WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') to play in 2013.
"How early is the question," Kubiak said. "We're making a decision on him at the end of camp because of the PUP and those type of things." Posey expects to participate in individual drills in next week's minicamp. Achilles' injuries are rapidly becoming less daunting to return from, but it would be stunning if Posey avoided the PUP list to begin the season.

Mon Jun 3 201318:07Posey expected to be on field at minicamp
Texans WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') is expected to be on the field "doing drills" at next week's minicamp.
Coach Gary Kubiak recently classified Posey's recovery as "ahead of schedule," and this is confirmation. Posey has been running on an anti-gravity treadmill, and his next step is to get on the field. We wouldn't expect him to do a whole lot, but it's a sign that the second-year wideout could contribute in 2013.

Mon May 20 201315:17Kubiak: DeVier Posey is ahead of schedule
Speaking at Texans OTAs Monday, coach Gary Kubiak described WR DeVier Posey's Achilles' rehab as "ahead of schedule."
Kubiak did admit Posey is a candidate to open the season on PUP, although that decision will be made at a much later date. A 2012 third-rounder out of Ohio State, Posey will not be counted on for 2013 impact after a slow rookie year.

Fri Apr 26 201309:21DeVier Posey expected to begin year on PUP
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Texans expect WR DeVier Posey (Achilles) to begin the season on the reserve/PUP list.
It means Posey will miss at least the first six games. It was almost certainly a factor in the Texans taking Clemson WR DeAndre Hopkins with the No. 27 pick, though they had a major need at wideout regardless of Posey's healthy. At this stage, Posey is little more than Dynasty league sleeper for fantasy purposes.

Tue Mar 19 201313:31WR Posey possible for 'middle of the season'
Texans coach Gary Kubiak says WR DeVier Posey (Achilles) could "possibly (be) a middle of the season player."
"He's doing well," Kubiak said Tuesday. Posey went down in Houston's Divisional Round loss, and underwent surgery on January 19. Right now, he's a candidate for the PUP list, but it's possible he'll be placed on injured reserve before Week 1 depending on how his rehab is going. Posey can't be counted on to contribute in fantasy leagues this season.

Fri Feb 22 201312:18DeVier Posey also coming off hand surgery
In addition to an Achilles' tear, Texans WR DeVier Posey is recovering from a fractured hand.
"He had a little fracture, he got that taken care of," GM Rick Smith revealed. As to Posey's Achilles' recovery -- a far bigger concern than the hand -- Smith stated, "It's typically an 8-9 month, and don't quote me on this, rehab process for him, typically speaking. I don't know where he is or how that works."

Thu Jan 31 201318:52Posey underwent surgery for Achilles on 1/19
Texans WR DeVier Posey underwent surgery for his torn Achilles' tendon on January 19.
Posey says the injury happened as he was running down field, then the tendon snapped as he was trying to stop and come back on a route. He called the injury "a blessing in disguise" because he won't have to miss any "official" games. That means Posey is planning on being ready for Week 1, but we'd say his chances of even being much of a factor in 2013 are slim.

Mon Jan 14 201316:55Kubiak: Posey could have been a starter
Speaking at Monday's season-ending presser, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said he doesn't have a timetable for WR DeVier Posey's (Achilles) recovery.
Kubiak also said Posey had put himself in position to challenge for a starting job in 2013 before going down. That's unlikely to be the case now, however, as Posey is facing long odds of being ready for Week 1. As Demaryius Thomas and others have proven, a torn Achilles is no longer a career-jeopardizing injury for younger players, but Posey is unlikely to be a big contributor in 2013.

Sun Jan 13 201319:45DeVier Posey carted off with leg injury
Texans WR DeVier Posey was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Divisional round game versus the Patriots with an apparent lower leg injury.
The rookie is obviously done for the final five minutes with the Texans down 10 points. Posey had just hauled in a 25-yard circus catch for a touchdown the series before the injury occurred. Houston's third receiver finished the game with three catches for 47 yards and the score. Provided the injury isn't a long-term concern, Posey is a good bet to overtake Kevin Walter for the No. 2 job in 2013.

Sun Dec 30 201217:33Posey a non-factor in Week 17
DeVier Posey had one catch for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
Posey shared No. 2 wideout duties with Kevin Walker, but was only targeted twice in the passing game. He'll finish an underwhelming rookie season with six receptions and 87 yards in 11 games (two starts). The Texans' lack of a legitimate receiver behind Andre Johnson is a concern going into the postseason.

Mon Dec 17 201209:29DeVier Posey picking up snaps ahead of Walter
Texans rookie WR DeVier Posey shared No. 2 wideout duties with Kevin Walter in Sunday's win over the Colts.
The Texans are finally realizing that if Walter isn't blocking for a running back, he's hurting the team. Posey ended up with three catches for 46 yards on three targets while Walter had two catches for 11 yards on two targets. "What has taken place over the period of the last month is a young player who has really stepped up, so we're going to give him more opportunities to help us," coach Gary Kubiak said.

Texans declared WR DeVier Posey, QB John Beck, CB Roc Carmichael, CB Brandon Harris, LB Bryan Braman, T Andrew Gardner and G Brandon Brooks inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
