Wed Mar 2 2011 | 13:43 | Weglarz was limited with back spasms |
Indians head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff said Wednesday that prospect outfielder Nick Weglarz was held out of the early part of the exhibition schedule due to back spasms. |
Weglarz first felt the symptoms because of a collision in the outfield during winter ball, so the Indians have treated him conservatively this spring. He's now available to play in games. The 23-year-old batted .285/390/.503 with 13 homers and 47 RBI between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus last season and was recently ranked as the organization's No. 5 prospect by Baseball America. |
