Sat Sep 28 2013 | 16:18 | Juwan Howard to be assistant for Heat |
Juwan Howard will be an assistant coach for the Heat this season. |
He has 19 years of experience in the NBA, which will obviously help him instruct the younger players in the league. Howard finished last season with the Heat, playing in just 51 minutes over the entire season. He had a nice career and it would appear the University of Michigan's Fab Five run in the NBA is over. |

Fri Mar 22 2013 | 17:59 | Heat sign Juwan Howard for rest of year |
As expected, the Heat signed Juwan Howard for the rest of the season on Friday. |
Howard has had a good career but right now he's in the discussion for least valuable fantasy player that's not injured (if you're into that sort of thing). |

Tue Mar 12 2013 | 10:27 | Heat bring back Juwan Howard for 10 more days |
Heat re-sign Juwan Howard to a second 10-day contract. |
Howard hasn't played a single second since being brought back initially and is effectively another assistant coach on the bench. |

Fri Mar 8 2013 | 12:09 | Juwan Howard expected to get another 10 days |
Juwan Howard is expected to be signed to a second 10-day contract on Monday. |
It would be a surprise if Howard isn't kept around for the duration of the season after his second 10-day contract runs out. |

Sat Mar 2 2013 | 14:42 | Heat officially sign Juwan Howard |
Heat sign F/C Juwan Howard. |
Howard is 40 years of age and players like Anthony Davis weren't even born when the Fab Five was bringing their revolutionary style to college hoops at the University of Michigan. Howard will take the empty roster spot resulting from the Dexter Pittman trade and there's a good chance he'll be retained for the season. He played just 6.8 minutes per game last year and we're expecting a similar allotment for the aged veteran. |

Sat Mar 2 2013 | 09:08 | Report: Heat considering inking Juwan Howard |
The Heat are giving strong consideration to signing Juwan Howard, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. |
Howard, 40, spent the past two seasons with the Heat but went unsigned this year. Yahoo! reports he's been working out and staying in shape and it's possible could sign him to fill the roster spot vacated by the Dexter Pittman trade. While Howard could provide a veteran presence on Miami's bench, he won't do anything for you in any fantasy league. |

Thu Sep 27 2012 | 13:30 | Juwan Howard won't open camp with Heat |
The Heat remain "open" to bringing back Juwan Howard, but he won't start training camp on the roster. |
It's going to take an injury or two for Howard to realistically have a chance at making the Heat roster again this season, and the veteran has drawn no interest from other clubs during the offseason. |

Wed Sep 26 2012 | 09:25 | Juwan Howard hoping for new deal with Heat |
Juwan Howard is "hoping" to sign a one-year contract with the Heat. |
Howard has been working out with the team, and if Miami does decide to bring him back, it's really difficult to justify the club giving him anything but a training camp invite. |

Tue Sep 18 2012 | 15:00 | Juwan Howard could be invited to Heat camp |
The Heat may invite Juwan Howard to training camp with their final roster spot. |
Robert Dozier is "expected" to be invited to camp on a non-guaranteed deal, which leaves one preseason roster spot available. The elder statesman appeared in just 28 games for Miami last year and doesn't have a realistic chance to make the team -- retirement is a very real option. |

Juwan Howard's tenure with the Heat is likely over. |
Beat writer Ira Winderman tweeted that "it would appear" that Howard's tenure is over with the team. We can't say we're surprised. |

Sun Aug 26 2012 | 14:49 | Juwan Howard may retire, join Heat as coach? |
Juwan Howard's future with the Heat remains uncertain, and Dwyane Wade recently suggested that Howard could remain with the team as part of the coaching staff. |
Howard has been working out in Miami this summer, but retirement is a very real possibility for the 39-year-old veteran. He boasts career averages of 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists, but last year he averaged just 1.5 points in 28 appearances. |

Fri Aug 24 2012 | 09:01 | Juwan Howard could stick around with Heat |
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel believes that the Heat "could fill out their power rotation" with Juwan Howard. |
Howard finally got his championship ring last season, but he was still on the fence in July as to whether or not he was going to retire. Bringing him back seems like a lukewarm idea given there are more talented (and younger) options available, but Howard does have a familiarity with the team. For what it's worth, the report also suggests that Mickell Gladness, Terrel Harris and Jarvis Varnado could all be considered for a roster spot as well. |

Sat Jul 21 2012 | 10:05 | Juwan Howard still contemplating retirement |
Juwan Howard hasn't decided whether he'll retire this summer. |
"I still have the itch," said Howard, who is 39 years old. If he doesn't retire he would prefer to stay with the Heat for the veteran's minimum, but there are no guarantees that they'd want to use a roster spot on him. |

Sun May 20 2012 | 15:46 | Juwan Howard takes offense to Stephenson |
Juwan Howard confronted Pacers guard Lance Stephenson about his 'choke' gesture during Game 3, and the two needed to be separated before Game 4 on Sunday. |
Stephenson already apologized for the gesture, and it seems very silly for a veteran like Howard to be turning this into a melodrama. Neither guy is playing in the series, and LeBron refused to even address Stephenson to the media, so hopefully this will be the last we hear about it. |

Sat Dec 10 2011 | 01:44 | Juwan Howard officially a member of Heat |
The Heat finalized their one-year deal with PF/C Juwan Howard on Friday. |
We're almost certain he will nail an elbow jumper with the shot clock winding down in an Eastern Conference Final game, but beyond that he won't have much utility for the Heat. Needless to say, he can be avoided like the plague on draft day. |

Fri Dec 9 2011 | 11:46 | Heat finalizing deal w/ veteran Juwan Howard |
The Heat are finalizing a contract with veteran PF Juwan Howard. |
Howard is 38 years old and won't play more than a bit role off Miami's deep bench. The Heat continue to stockpile quality rotation players around their core of superstars. |

Tue Jun 14 2011 | 10:06 | Juwan Howard says he won't retire |
Free agent Juwan Howard says he does not plan on retiring. |
Howard may not have a choice. He's 38 and it's doubtful that the Heat will want him back. Howard appeared in 57 games this season, averaging 2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. |

Mon Nov 29 2010 | 22:58 | Howard ejected for in-game incident |
Juwan Howard was ejected in Monday's game after retaliating against the Wizards' Hilton Armstrong, who flagrantly fouled teammate Joel Anthony, and finished with four points and one rebound in 10 minutes. |
It's possible that he could face some punishment from the league, but this incident was pretty PG. His already limited fantasy value got squashed with Erick Dampier joining the frontcourt mix. |
Sun Nov 21 2010 | 00:16 | Howard (nose) returns to action on Saturday |
Juwan Howard (nose) returned to action on Saturday, but played just eight minutes off the bench to finish with two points on 1-of-1 shooting, no rebounds, and one assist. |
Even with Udonis Haslem (foot) possibly out some time, he's much too old and ineffective to be worth a pickup unless he shows some signs of life. |
Fri Nov 19 2010 | 18:58 | Juwan Howard to wear mask for broken nose |
Juwan Howard, who has been cleared to play on Friday, will wear a mask to protect his broken nose. |
He says he doesn't like wearing them, but given the fact he's averaging eight minutes per game, we think he'll be OK. |
