Sun Nov 4 201209:29Childress (ankle) unlikely to play Monday
Josh Childress (sore left ankle) is doubtful to play on Monday, according to Avery Johnson.
Childress' debut will probably go unnoticed by most NBA fans, and he doesn't have fantasy relevance in Brooklyn.

Fri Oct 26 201212:43Josh Childress, Bogans out again Friday
Josh Childress (left ankle sprain) and Keith Bogans (right knee, tailbone) are both out of practice again on Friday.
Both players are trying to prepare to be ready for the opener, and it doesn't sound like the Nets will push either one. Neither is a fantasy asset.

Tue Oct 23 201213:45Childress, Bogans both sit again Tuesday
Josh Childress (left ankle sprain) and Keith Bogans (tailbone, right knee) both sat out practice on Tuesday.
Bogans has been dealing with the injury previously, while Childress goes back on the injury report with a mild ankle sprain. It's a reminder that Childress has a long way to go before anyone can count on him to contribute consistently, and neither player is a fantasy option.

Wed Oct 17 201201:25Childress starts on Tuesday for Brooklyn
Josh Childress got the start on Tuesday and scored eight points with four boards, two steals and two triples in 29 minutes.
The Nets sent their junior varsity team to Boston tonight and J-Chill got his chance to show what he could do. He's not on the radar in fantasy leagues.

Wed Oct 10 201212:56Josh Childress dealing with quad injury
Josh Childress missed Wednesday's practice with a left quad contusion.
He has also missed time with an Achilles injury already, which is not a great sign. He's also somewhat buried on the depth chart in Jersey, meaning he should be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Fri Oct 5 201211:10Josh Childress back at practice on Friday
Josh Childress (Achilles) returned to practice on Friday.
After Childress was spotted wearing a sizable ice pack on his ankle, the veteran swingman is apparently fine and his absence was just a precaution. He's irrelevant in fantasy leagues as long as everyone in front of him stays healthy.

Thu Sep 13 201213:17Nets make Josh Childress signing official
Nets sign G/F Josh Childress.
Childress is on a non-guaranteed deal, but he'd have to perform an unbelievable belly flop in camp in order to not make the final roster. He'll serve as depth on the wing and will be useless to fantasy owners, just as he was in Phoenix.

Wed Sep 12 201208:10Josh Childress 'almost certain' to make Nets
Josh Childress is "almost certain" to make the Nets roster.
Although Childress is coming in on a non-guaranteed deal worth the veteran's minimum, Brooklyn needs SF depth badly behind Gerald Wallace and it would be a complete shock if he wasn't on the team come opening night. Childress is a nice depth addition for the Nets as the team has completely revamped its second unit, but he's not going to offer any fantasy value.

Tue Sep 11 201217:18Nets sign Josh Childress on one-year deal
The Nets and free agent Josh Childress have agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
The Nets needed to add depth at SF behind Gerald Wallace, and Childress became an obvious choice once Donte Greene fractured his ankle and Dominic McGuire signed with the Raptors. Childress was miserable for the Suns the past two seasons, and is unlikely to provide any fantasy value.

Mon Sep 10 201213:29Josh Childress going to work out for Nets
Josh Childress will work out for the Nets on Tuesday, a source tells ESPN New York.
The New York Post previously reported that the team could look at Childress, and while it was reported that Dominic McGuire and Childress would work out for the Nets previously, McGuire has since agreed to terms with the Raptors. Childress would offer no fantasy value as the definition of a depth pickup for the Nets after being amnestied by the Suns. Phoenix still owes the veteran swingman more than $20 million.

Thu Aug 30 201208:35Report: Nets interested in Josh Childress
The Nets could target unrestricted FA Josh Childress.
Brooklyn is looking for depth at small forward behind Gerald Wallace, but Childress' ability to contribute for fantasy owners has fallen by the wayside. The only team Childress previously received interest from the Wizards after being amnestied by the Suns.

Tue Aug 7 201214:02Report: Wizards interested in Josh Childress
The Wizards have "expressed interest" in unrestricted FA Josh Childress, a source tells Michael Lee of the Washington Post.
Lee calls Childress signing with the Wizards "probably a long shot," but also mentions that Childress has received interest from "a handful of teams." We haven't heard much about Chilly's future since clearing amnesty waivers and becoming an unrestricted free agent, but he should be able to stick in the NBA, and money definitely shouldn't be an issue after the Suns paid him to go away.

Tue Jul 17 201217:51Josh Childress clears waivers on Tuesday
Josh Childress cleared waivers on Tuesday, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Childress made waves by signing with Olympiacos in 2008, and somehow landed a five-year, $30 million contract upon his return to the NBA. He should earn a minimum contract somewhere, but is no longer a fantasy asset.

Sun Jul 15 201217:30Suns use amnesty provision on Josh Childress
The Suns have exercised their amnesty provision on Josh Childress.
Childress flopped after signing a five-year, $30 million deal two years ago, of which Phoenix is still on the hook for over $21 million. Waiving Childress apparently enabled the Suns' successful waiver claim for Luis Scola, and may have cleared up additional cap space for offers to free agent SGs Courtney Lee or O.J. Mayo.

Sun Jun 24 201210:36NBA teams may 'amnesty' between July 1-7
Once free agency begins on July 1, NBA teams have seven days to use their amnesty clause on a player.
After seven days the window closes and teams must wait until next summer, so we could see a flurry of financially-motivated waivers in early July. Thus far seven teams have used their amnesty provision: the Magic (Gilbert Arenas), Warriors (Charlie Bell), Nets (Travis Outlaw), Pacers (James Posey), Trail Blazers (Brandon Roy), Cavaliers (Baron Davis) and Knicks (Chauncey Billups).

Sat May 26 201212:09Josh Childress sets new anti-FT record
Josh Childress set a new NBA record this season for minutes played without any made free throws.
Childress logged 491 minutes, going 0-of-2 from the FT line. The Suns could use their amnesty clause on the 29-year-old small forward (he's still owed $21 million), though his role could expand next season depending upon what happens to Grant Hill.

Mon Apr 30 201210:43Josh Childress an amnesty candidate
Josh Childress admitted that he's a candidate for the amnesty clause this offseason.
Childress was barely part of the Suns' rotation this season, averaging 2.9 points per game in his 34 appearances. He has three years and $21 million left on his contract. If the Suns are going to appease and retain free agent Steve Nash, they'll have to free some money up and acquire better talent.

Tue Feb 7 201223:38Childress grabs 12 boards in 17 minutes
Josh Childress missed all four of his shots and failed to score, but somehow grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds in just 16 minutes on Tuesday.
Childress has no fantasy appeal as long as Grant Hill is healthy, but this line may qualify as the strangest one we've seen this season.
