Bass will start at center in Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers, the Boston Herald reports.
Bass will start in the place of Tyler Zeller to allow the Celtics to have more mobile lineup against the Blazers. He's been averaging minutes in the low-to-mid 20s recently, and the starting nod could indicate added minutes Thursday.

Bass scored 18 points (6-10 FG, 6-6 FT) with two rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench Wednesday.
He's carved out a bigger role for himself recently, averaging 22.6 minutes, 13.2 points and 4.6 boards over the last five games. Those aren't rosterable numbers in most leagues, but if something were to happen to one of the Celtics' other front court players Bass seems ready to step up.

Bass scored a season-high 23 points (9-13 FG, 5-7 FT) in 32 minutes off the bench in the win over the 76ers on Wednesday. He snagged six boards.
Philadelphia is not the best defensive team and Bass was able to take advantage. He also received extra playing time with Kelly Olynyk in foul trouble. His previous high this season was 12 points, but his big game against the Sixers might lead to more minutes in future games.

Bass is averaging 15.8 minutes on the court over Boston's first five games of the season.
Bass is currently limited off the bench behind Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk. To make things even more complicated, Jeff Green slides down to power forward at times and Tyler Zeller is even seeing some limited run off the bench as well. Because of this, Bass will likely be restricted in terms of what he can contribute this year.
Mon Jul 7 201401:38Brandon Bass focused on offensive improvement
Brandon Bass hopes to improve offensively this summer, after averaging 11.1 points on 48.6 percent shooting last year.
"Defense is mandatory for me every possession," Bass said. "I just want be that way offensively. I think that it's time to be able to play both ends of the court at a high level." Bass took nearly half of his shot attempts within eight feet of the hoop last year, but he was most effective between 8-16 feet. His fantasy value is buoyed by terrific FT percentages (85.8 percent last season), making him a player to target in the final rounds of fantasy drafts.

Sat Apr 12 201422:31Brandon Bass plays well for shorthanded C's
Brandon Bass had 19 points, five rebounds and a block on 7-of-11 shooting in Saturday's win over the Cavaliers.
With Jared Sullinger and Kris Humphries out, Bass and Kelly Olynyk handled the big-man duties and both of them played very well.

Tue Apr 1 201400:55Bass goes for 18 and nine with four blocks
Brandon Bass scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting with nine rebounds, three assists and four blocks in the Celtics' loss on Monday.
Bass hasn't had a solid game since mid-March and we need to see him do this again, if not multiple times before we pay him any real attention.

Wed Mar 19 201423:23Brandon Bass scores 18 points in win
Brandon Bass hit 8-of-12 shots for 18 points and four rebounds in 30 minutes on Wednesday.
That's the most points he scored since back on Feb. 21 when he had 20, and he hadn't scored more than eight points in his previous four games. Bass is always worth a look, but he plays for Brad Stevens, who tweaks with his lineups and rotations as much as any coach in the league. Just ask the owners of Kris Humphries.

Tue Mar 18 201401:40Bass quiet in Monday's loss to Dallas
Brandon Bass hit just 2-of-5 shots for five points, two rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes on Monday against the Mavs.
Bass has really taken a turn south lately and he can be dropped in 12-16 team formats.

Sun Mar 9 201421:21Brandon Bass again held to single-digits
Brandon Bass was held to single-digits for the second straight game on Sunday, going 2-of-8 from the field for five points.
The Pistons' defense isn't exactly locking teams down of late, but Bass' minutes have tailed off and the typically efficient scorer was just 2-of-8 from the field and 1-of-2 at the FT line. He's been prone to slumps throughout the season yet he's managed to sustain late-round value thanks to his rebounds (5.9), blocks (0.9) and solid percentages.

Sun Feb 23 201401:54Bass quiet on Saturday after big Friday
Brandon Bass scored 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting with three rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes on Saturday against the Kings.
Bass scored 20 points with eight rebounds and a steal on Friday, and tonight reinforced the often shaky nature of his fantasy value. Jared Sullinger was also out tonight with a mild concussion, adding to the disappointment for owners that made the add. Bass is a much better fit for deeper leagues that can handle the peaks and valleys but he's worth a look while he's starting and making small amounts of noise.

Sat Feb 22 201401:09Bass goes for 20 and eight vs. Lakers
Brandon Bass scored 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting with eight rebounds and a steal in Friday's loss to the Lakers.
Bass is back on the hot list and we don't know how long it will last and the Lakers are terrible, but he's worth a pickup if you keep your long-term expectations in check. Jeff Green scored 21 points with three treys, Gerald Wallace chipped in 12 points with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, Sully went for 12 and 12, and Rajon Rondo scored six points with six boards, 11 assists, a three and a steal.

Thu Feb 20 201400:38Brandon Bass goes for 18 & 8 in loss
Brandon Bass had 18 points, eight rebounds, a steal and two blocks on 7-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Suns.
Bass has scored in double figures in three straight games and is averaging 14.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks during that stretch. Kris Humphries has fallen out of favor with coach Brad Stevens, meaning Bass should continue to start and put up solid numbers for the Celtics.

Wed Feb 12 201422:45Brandon Bass plays through eye injury
Brandon Bass started despite an eye injury and had 12 points and five rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
Bass has been playing well, but things are getting crowded up front again in Boston, as Kris Humphries and Kelly Olynyk played well off the bench, as Jared Sullinger had an off night. With all four players getting solid run right now, Bass will be a tough guy to rely on in fantasy.

Wed Feb 12 201418:02Brandon Bass ready to go on Wednesday
Brandon Bass (eye) will play against the Spurs on Wednesday.
He suffered a corneal abrasion on Monday and had some blurred vision because of it, but he'll be ready to go. Bass has co-existed nicely with Rajon Rondo in the lineup as an offensive weapon and is worth a look in most formats.

Mon Feb 10 201422:43Brandon Bass has an eye injury
Brandon Bass was dealing with blurred vision after being poked in the eye and did not return on Monday night.
He was poked in the eye by Zaza Pachulia and went to the bench. Bucks center Larry Sanders was dealing with blurred vision and was diagnosed with an orbital fracture, so hopefully this isn't a similar case. The Celtics should have an update on Bass before Wednesday's game and he should be considered questionable. Kelly Olynyk would take over most of the minutes. Bass finished with 12 points, seven boards, one steal and one block in 27 minutes.

Mon Feb 10 201412:04Report: Brandon Bass drawing trade interest
Brandon Bass has reportedly been the Celtics' "most-discussed player" in trade talks leading up to the Feb. 20 deadline.
Bass is owed a guaranteed $6.9 million next season in the final year of his contract, a reasonable deal for a productive 28-year-old PF who can rebound and knock down mid-range jumpers with consistency. Teams linked to Bass include the Bobcats, Suns and Warriors, all of whom are interested in buoying their playoff position.

Sun Feb 9 201420:40Brandon Bass plays just 15 minutes vs. Dallas
Brandon Bass started at PF again on Sunday but only played 15 minutes in the loss, scoring six points with two rebounds and three personal fouls.
He had no other stats to his credit, and it's these type of random duds which make Bass a tough guy to own in standard fantasy leagues. His ups and downs have averaged out to top-120 value in nine-cat leagues so he does have targeted appeal if you need solid FG and FT percentages with a handful of blocks.

Sat Feb 8 201400:17Bass hits just 1-of-8 shots for two points
Brandon Bass hit just 1-of-8 shots for two points, five rebounds and one block in Friday's win over the Kings.
Bass logged just 21 minutes and ceded some time to Kelly Olynyk, who got hot in a very random game against the Kings. Bass is still worth owning if you factor in this dud over the last 1-2 weeks, so we're inclined to be patient and see how the next game pans out. If you're staring at a high-level free agent, then it's okay to make the drop.

Wed Feb 5 201422:08Brandon Bass goes for 18 & 6 in win
Brandon Bass hit 7-of-10 shots for 18 points, six rebounds and a block in Wednesday's win over the Sixers.
The Sixers' opposition is always a good fantasy bet and that certainly held true tonight with Bass, Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Rajon Rondo all went off, while Avery Bradley probably would have if not for an in-game injury. Bass is hot, as Kris Humphries has fallen off the map, averaging 13.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over his last five games. He's scored in double digits in three straight games, and while he won't get to face the Sixers every night, he looks like a solid add in fantasy leagues.
