C Roy Hibbert chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds during the Lakers' win over the Pistons. Coach Byron Scott said Hibbert's defense on Detroit C Andre Drummond also factored in the win. "I thought Roy did a fantastic job on Drummond," said Scott, whose club were even on the boards with Detroit at 46 apiece but was outrebounded 12-7 on the offensive end. "If you look at the stat sheet, the guy ends up with 17 and 17, but he only had four offensive rebounds, so we held him under his season average. For the most part, (Hibbert) did a pretty good job."Hibbert also might have broken his nose during the game after taking a shot from Drummond. He said he would be re-evaluated Monday. Regardless, he plans to play against the Suns.

Hibbert (knee) will visit with a doctor to address the soreness in his right knee, Baxter Holmes of ESPN reports.
Hibbert dropped 16 pounds over the summer, but that hasn't prevented his knee from bothering him in the early stages of camp. While the issue is still considered minor, a visit with a team doctor isn't the most encouraging of signs. More information should be released Tuesday following the visit.

Hibbert was big on Sunday, recording eight points, 16 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a 126-83 win over Maccabi.
This is a fantastic line for the big man, but he needs to have games like this against NBA players to give fantasy owners higher hopes. The major positive for Hibbert is that he has very little competition in LA and he should see a boat load of minutes. Look for Hibbert to increase his 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game averages from last season, but potentially lower his 10.6 PPG average in an offense with Kobe Bryant, D'Angelo Russell, Nick Young, Julius Randle and Lou Williams.
Thu Jul 23 201511:07Hibbert has lost 16 pounds in order to adapt to quicker league
Hibbert has lost 16 pounds in order to adapt to a quicker league, ESPN's Mike Trudell reports.
Hibbert has never averaged more than 30 minutes per game in any season, and that may change this year given the Lakers' center depth. At the introductory press conference, the 7-foot-2 center expressed a desire to mainly focus on the defensive end and help turn around the Lakers' 29th ranked defense. He shot a career-high 82 percent from the free-throw line last season, but that's typically the extent of his positive offensive contribution. Those eyeing Hibbert in fantasy leagues will rely on his blocks, and if last season was any indication, Hibbert could increase his offensive rebounds significantly. During the first month of the 2014-15 season, former Laker Jordan Hill averaged a league-high 4.1 offensive rebounds through the first 17 games, a number highly influenced by Kobe Bryant's 39 percent shooting on 23.1 attempts per contest.
Sat Jul 4 201518:17Roy Hibbert: Traded To Lakers
Hibbert will be traded to the Lakers, Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today Sports reports.
While the terms of the deal remain unofficial, it appears that Hibbert will become the starting center for the Lakers as he likely plays alongside pseudo-rookie Julius Randle (leg) in the frontcourt. This was probably the best-case scenario for Hibbert since he was slowly getting phased out in Indiana after the Pacers selected Myles Turner in the 2015 NBA Draft. Hibbert will have one year left on his current contract and his value should be rising heading into the new season as he enters a contract year with a new team that desperately needs a consistent frontcourt player.

Hibbert opted into the final year of his contract with the Pacers on Thursday, Zach Lowe of Grantland reports.
Hibbert is due to make north of $15 million next season in the final year of the four-year, $58.4 million deal he inked prior to the 2012 season. Hibbert averaged 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds last season while playing just 25.3 minutes per game. Judging from some of the team's comments this offseason, the Pacers were prepared to move on without Hibbert, whose game is somewhat limiting, as he's unable to stretch the floor and struggles against certain matchups. It will certainly be interesting to see where Hibbert fits next season, especially considering Indiana's selection of big man Myles Turner with the 11th overall pick in Thursday's draft.

Hibbert should be motivated to perform this coming season after the Pacers selected fellow center Myles Turner in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Hibbert is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career after only averaging 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.2 steals and 1.6 blocks on 25 minutes per game. It would be surprising if Turner takes over starting duties early on in the season but Hibbert is certainly in danger of getting phased out in Indiana if the rookie lives up to his potential.

Hibbert statistically had his worst season in 2014-15 since his rookie year. He played in 76 games and averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in 25 minutes per game. He has a player option for the 2015-16 season for $15 million should he decide to stay in Indiana.
During the Pacers' exit interviews, team president Larry Bird stated his frustrations with Hibbert, saying Hibbert will likely have a reduced role next season should he decide to come back. Bird wants to use smaller and faster lineups, which doesn't bode well for Hibbert's value. Before the All-Star break, Hibbert was the 101st ranked player in 8-category leagues on a per-game basis. However, he fell to 151st after the break, making him barely usable in 10-team leagues. Hibbert will likely see a decrease in minutes should he stay with the Pacers, and his fantasy value is expected to decline as a result.

Hibbert will see a reduced role if he opts into his contract for next season, Candace Buckner of the Indy Star reports.
Hibbert has a lucrative, $15.5 million player option for next season, a number he's unlikely to approach on a per-year basis if he were to hit the open market. Pacers' president Larry Bird sounded frustrated with Hibbert's declining production, particularly his pedestrian rebounding for his size. While Indiana would certainly find a role for Hibbert next season, it seems like the team is prepared to move forth without him.

Hibbert scored 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 FT) with 11 rebounds, four assists and a block in just 16 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Knicks.
The soft Knicks' frontcourt allowed Hibbert to produce decent numbers despite his lack of court time. With Pacers coach Frank Vogel currently splitting minutes in the middle three ways, don't expect Hibbert to turn things around before the regular season draws to a close.

Hibbert did not score, shooting 0-6 from the field, with five rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Wizards.
Two days after posting a strong double-double against the Rockets, Hibbert puts up this dud of a line. On the surface his 11.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks this month look good, but his inconsistency is maddening for owners.
