Wed Mar 25 201518:11Nicholson will return to bench Wednesday against Hawks
Nicholson will return to the bench Wednesday against the Hawks, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Nicholson got the start Sunday with Dewayne Dedmon and Channing Frye out, but both players are available Wednesday, so Nicholson will shift back to a bench role, where he's unlikely to be much of a fantasy producer.

Nicholson started Sunday's game with Channing Frye (illness) out, and was effective in 22 minutes, scoring 13 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists.
This was Nicholson's first start of the season. He is only averaging 11 minutes per game this season, so the expanded role was obviously new for him Sunday. He's been much improved in March, shooting 48.3 percent from the floor so far and averaging 7.3 points and three rebounds per game.

Nicholson will move into the starting lineup for Channing Frye (illness) on Sunday against the Nuggets, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
Nicholson is in line to enjoy extended minutes Sunday but it won't likely last for long as Frye is not expected to miss much time off the court. While the 25-year-old has increased opportunities Sunday, he's still a limited option when given significant playing time.

Nicholson played 21 minutes Friday night against the Pelicans after missing the previous 16 games.
Coach James Borrego sent a wave of players at Anthony Davis in order to slow him down. Nicholson has been on and off the inactive roster the past two months, playing 43 total minutes in three January games. He primarily benefitted from Tobias Harris (knee) resting. Minutes will be hard to come by once Harris returns.
Fri Feb 6 201517:23Nicholson will be inactive for Friday's game versus Lakers
Nicholson will be inactive for Friday's game versus the Lakers, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Nicholson's inactive status coincides with rookie lottery pick Aaron Gordon (foot) being available for Friday's contest against the Lakers. With Gordon back in the fold, it's unclear how Nicholson's role will be managed moving forward, but he's played in merely 18 games this season anyways.
Wed Jan 21 201518:25Nicholson will be inactive for Wednesday's game against Pistons
Nicholson will be inactive for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
Nicholson was also inactive for Sunday's game and has not played in the team's last four games. Once a promising rookie out of St. Bonaventure, Nicholson has seen his playing time diminish greatly this season, and he's seen time in only 18 games.
Sun Jan 18 201516:49Nicholson will be inactive for Sunday's game against Thunder
Nicholson will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Rookie big man Aaron Gordon has finally been cleared to play, so Nicholson will be inactive to make room for Gordon. As long as Gordon and the other Magic big men stay healthy, expect Nicholson to be the first person to be left inactive.

Nicholson has played two minutes over the past five games, coinciding with Nikola Vucevics's return from back spasms.
Nicholson played extended minutes when Kyle O'Quinn started at center, but failed to impress the coaching staff. In total, he's played 14 of the team's 30 games and should only be rostered in the deepest fantasy leagues.

Nicholson has played just seven minutes and received three DNP-CDs thus far.
The glut of forwards in Orlando has cast aside Nicholson for the time being. The limited minutes are concerning for anyone in deep leagues who owns him because Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) missed the last four games.
Sun Oct 19 201413:40Nicholson scored team-high 23 points (10-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT)...
Nicholson scored a team-high 23 points (10-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), grabbed eight rebounds, recorded two steals, dished one assist and blocked one shot in 37 minutes during Saturday's preseason loss.
Nicholson started at power forward with Tobias Harris receiving the night off and Channing Frye still sidelined with a sprained MCL. This performance against a stripped down Sixer team doesn't vault Nicholson's stature in the fantasy community. He can still be avoided in drafts.

Nicholson was inserted into the starting lineup, replacing rookie Aaron Gordon, for Wednesday's preseason tilt. He finished the game with 10 points (5-8 FG), four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 19 minutes against Brazil's Flamengo club.
Nicholson was one of six Magic players to score in double-figures against the international squad. He recorded his first steal and assist of the preseason, three games in.
Thu Sep 11 201411:32Nicholson plans to reincorporate post-game this season
Nicholson plans to reincorporate his post-game this season. He stated in an interview with OrlandoMagic.com, "I've been working to get my confidence back and I'm working again on what got me in the league in the first place. I'm just trying to get back inside. I did a lot of (outside) shooting last season. I want to get back where I've had success before."
Nicholson unveiled his outside shot two summers ago with Team Canada, carrying said shot into his sophomore season with little success, primarily launching corner threes. This summer, Nicholson continued to hoist threes in an 11-game tour with Team Canada, knocking them down at a respectable 40.4 percent. Overall, Nicholson averaged 10.6 points and shot 52.3 from the field during the exhibition schedule. Even so, the addition of Channing Frye and late season emergence of Kyle O'Quinn place a premium on frontcourt minutes.
Tue Jul 22 201418:07Andrew Nicholson: 'I'm going back to basics'
Magic PF Andrew Nicholson said he is "going back to basics" this summer, following a disappointing sophomore season.
Nicholson's FG percentage plummetted from 52.7 percent as a rookie to just 42.9 percent last year, and his shot charts explain the problem. As a rookie, 47.3 percent of his attempts came in the paint and he didn't attempt a single 3-pointer. In his second season, 27.6 percent of his attempts came in the paint and he launched 89 triples (connecting on only 28 of them). Getting back into the paint could do him a world of favors.

Mon Apr 14 201423:00Nicholson scores 19 points with four boards
Andrew Nicholson scored 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting with three treys, four rebounds and one block in 21 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Nicholson's highly leveraged line including a career-high three treys is fluky, but we have seen mini-explosions from him in the past. Anything is possible during silly season, so give him a look if you're feeling lucky.

Sun Feb 23 201422:17Andrew Nicholson doesn't score yet again
Andrew Nicholson did not score against the Raptors on Sunday in 13 minutes of action.
He did not score in Friday's game and has been a disappointment this season. The Magic really wanted to develop him as a stretch four, but his game has more holes than St. Andrews golf course. Nicholson's potential 3-point upside is not worth owning in almost any league right now.

Sat Jan 4 201422:10Andrew Nicholson starts, then benched
Andrew Nicholson started Saturday's game due to Nikola Vucevic's absence, but played just six minutes and missed all four of his shots.
Coach Jacque Vaughn saw something he didn't like early and ended up starting Victor Oladipo instead of Nicholson in the second half. Vucevic isn't expected to miss much more time with his ankle injury, so what little promise Nicholson was showing when he was put into the starting five tonight is officially dead after his benching.

Sat Jan 4 201418:28Andrew Nicholson starts w/ Vucevic out
Andrew Nicholson will start at power forward vs. Miami on Saturday, shifting Glen Davis to center.
Nikola Vucevic (ankle) is day-to-day so this doesn't alter Nicholson's long-term outlook, but he's a fine spot-starter vs. Miami's small frontcourt. In three starts this year, Nicholson is averaging 12.7 points, 1.0 threes, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in just under 29 minutes per game.

Tue Dec 31 201319:34Andrew Nicholson gets back in the rotation
Andrew Nicholson got back in the rotation on Tuesday with five points, three rebounds and one 3-pointer in 14 minutes.
The Magic lost Nikola Vuecvic to an ankle injury and Nicholson's playing time tonight topped his previous three combined of 12 minutes. There is still very little reason to pick him up in almost any league.

Mon Dec 9 201322:56Nicholson goes for 19 and 11 in loss to MEM
Andrew Nicholson scored 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting (including two threes) with 11 rebounds and four blocks in 37 minutes in Monday's loss to the Grizzlies.
Nicholson did his damage with no Nikola Vucevic around, and with the big man being day-to-day it's hard to get too excited about Nicholson's production. In a deeper league though, he's worth a look. Glen Davis scored 16 points with nine assists and three blocks, Victor Oladipo scored 10 points with a normal line, Jameer Nelson scored 19 points and a normal line, and Arron Afflalo scored 17 points with a normal line.

Sat Dec 7 201300:40Andrew Nicholson scores eight points in loss
Andrew Nicholson started at power forward and had eight points, three boards and one block in 28 minutes against the Knicks on Friday.
He didn't take any 3-pointers tonight and was doing more work out of the post than usual. Nicholson has some major issues on defense and he hasn't helped himself much with some extra opportunity while the Magic are banged up. He's not worth owning in most leagues.
