Thurston spent the last two seasons in the Atlantic and Mexican leagues, but looks to provide some organizational depth for the Red Sox in 2015. He last surfaced in the majors in 2011, playing in one game with the Marlins. |

He's hit .226 /.305/.323 in 384 major league plate appearances spread over seven seasons, most of which came with the Cardinals in 2008. Thurston will battle for a utility job in camp. |
