Blue Jays acquired RHP Clint Everts from the Mets to complete an earlier trade for outfielder Jorge Padilla. |
The first leg of the trade was made last week. Everts was drafted fifth overall in the 2002 MLB Amateur Draft, but has posted a 6.94 ERA and a 37/21 K/BB ratio in 35 innings of relief at Double-A Binghamton this season. He may never be a major league-ready reliever. |
