Tue Jun 2518:29Brandon Drury Remains Out On Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (illness) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. The veteran slugger will miss his fifth straight game while dealing with an illness. The Angels haven't placed Drury on the injured list, but it shouldn't be completely ruled out. Luis Guillorme will fill in at second base and bat ninth versus right-hander Mitch Spence on Tuesday.

Mon Jun 2421:05Brandon Drury Available Off The Bench Monday
Los Angeles Angels second baseman Brandon Drury (illness), who is out of the lineup again for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Oakland Athletics because of an upper respiratory virus, is available off the bench. Drury went through a workout before the game, and manager Ron Washington said he is available for the game. Look for Drury to get back into Anaheim's starting nine as soon as Tuesday's meeting with Oakland. The 31-year-old journeyman slugger is slashing a miserable .173/.233/.236 with one home run, six RBI, and nine runs scored in 110 at-bats for the Angels this year and carries very little fantasy appeal at the moment.

Fri Jun 2120:38Brandon Drury Scratched Again Friday
Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (illness) was scratched from the lineup for the second straight game on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to an illness. Drury was also scratched from Wednesday's lineup and had Thursday's off day to rest up, but apparently he's still under the weather after initially being included in the lineup for the series opener at Dodger Stadium. Luis Rengifo is at the hot corner and batting second, while Michael Stefanic will draw into the Angels' lineup at the keystone and bat eighth against Dodgers rookie right-hander Landon Knack. The 31-year-old Drury is a regular on the infield for the Halos when healthy, but he's missed time due to injury in 2024 and hasn't been much of a fantasy contributor in mixed leagues with a .173/.233/.236 slash line and just one home run in his 110 at-bats.

Fri Jun 2119:23Brandon Drury Playing Against Dodgers
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (illness) is feeling better on Friday and is starting at second base and batting sixth for the Angels in the series opener at Dodger Stadium against the Los Angeles Dodgers and right-handed rookie Landon Knack. Drury was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to an illness but had a day off to recover on Thursday and is now good to go for the Freeway Series. The 31-year-old veteran returned from the injured list on Monday and is 1-for-6 this week since returning. Drury has battled injuries this year and hasn't been able to get into a groove at the plate, as he comes into Friday's contest with a .173/.233/.236 slash line with only a homer and six RBI in 110 at-bats. As long as he stays healthy, though, he should be a lineup regular for the Halos, making him useful in much deeper fantasy leagues.

Tue May 1422:56Brandon Drury Hasn't Progressed To Physical Activity
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring), who went on the injured list on May 9 with a left-hamstring strain that he suffered on May 8 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, has been receiving treatment but hasn't progressed to any physical activity as of Monday. He's not sure how long he'll be out, but he was hopeful his injury was a minor strain. It wasn't the first time that the 31-year-old has dealt with hamstring issues this year, so don't be surprised if the Angels bring Drury back slowly. The Angels could be getting Luis Rengifo (illness) back from the injured list soon to play third base, but Niko Goodrum, Luis Guillorme and Cole Tucker could all see playing time at second base until Drury returns. One of the team's better hitters in 2023, Drury has struggled so far in 2024 to the tune of a .173/.230/.240 slash line with a homer and six RBI in 104 at-bats.

Thu May 922:51Brandon Drury Goes On 10-Day Injured List
The Los Angeles Angels placed infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left-hamstring strain. With infielder Luis Rengifo (illness) also going on the 10-day IL and Anthony Rendon (hamstring) out for the long term, the Angels infield depth has really been tested. The Halos acquired veteran infielder Luis Guillorme from the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, and he immediately got the start at second base while hitting eighth in his Angels debut. With both Rengifo and Drury now out, Guillorme, Cole Tucker and Ehire Adrianza could see decent playing time to warrant a look in AL-only leagues. In addition to his hamstring injury, Drury was hitting a terrible .173/.230/.240 with a homer, six RBI and nine runs scored in his first 104 at-bats this year.

Wed May 816:24Brandon Drury Leaves With Hamstring Tightness Wednesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) left Wednesday's win against the Pittsburgh Pirates early with left-hamstring tightness. Drury was replaced after six inning at first base by Nolan Schanuel. The 31-year-old went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in the eventual 5-4 win. Drury also missed several games last month with a hamstring injury, so it should be a pretty big concern that he might have to go on the injured list with his latest hamstring issue. Coming into Wednesday's game, Drury had been cold at the plate all year with a .158 average (16-for-101) with just one home run and five RBI. If Drury is forced to miss additional time with his hamstring injury, Ehire Adrianza and Cole Tucker could continue to find themselves in the lineup for the Halos on the infield.

Fri May 317:12Brandon Drury Out Again Due To Migraine
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (head) is out of the starting lineup again on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians. Drury was scratched from the starting lineup on Wednesday due to a migraine and it's obviously something that is still bothering him despite a scheduled day off on Thursday. Luis Rengifo is handling the keystone for the Halos and will bat second, while Ehire Adrianza is at third base and is batting seventh against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. The 31-year-old Drury has gotten off to a dreadful start in his second season with the Angels, slashing .176/.245/.235 with one homer, five RBI, eight runs scored and 18 strikeouts in his first 25 games. Rengifo is hitting .326 (28-for-86) on the year but will be facing a tough matchup in Bibee. He's hitless in two career at-bats against him.

Fri Apr 2617:25Brandon Drury Back In Action On Friday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (knee) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Minnesota Twins and right-hander Bailey Ober, serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth. Miguel Sano is at third base for the Halos and is hitting cleanup. Drury didn't start at all during the recent three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles due to a knee injury but appeared on Wednesday late in the game and struck out in his only plate appearance. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues will be hoping that Drury can show some signs of life at the plate this weekend, as he's started the 2024 season with a weak .194/.270/.269 slash line with a home run and four RBI in 74 plate appearances. He's never faced Ober in his career.

Wed Apr 2415:25Brandon Drury Out Again As Hamstring Injury Lingers
Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington said that infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring), who is out of the lineup for the third straight game on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles, has been feeling soreness from a left-hamstring injury he suffered last week. Washington added that Drury was left out of Wednesday's lineup as a precaution but could pinch hit, if needed. Luis Rengifo is filling in at the keystone and is hitting eighth against Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer. Fantasy managers should consider the 31-year-old Drury as day-to-day for now, but if his hamstring soreness lingers, he could eventually land on the injured list. Drury has been a non-factor offensively for the Halos so far this year, going 13-for-66 (.197) with one homer and four RBI in 19 games played.

Fri Apr 1916:14Brandon Drury Back In Angels Lineup
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds, serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth in the order. Luis Rengifo remains at second base and is batting seventh for the Halos. Drury missed the team's last three games with left-hamstring tightness but is back in action against his former team, the Reds. It's a good place for Drury to come alive with the bat in a hitter-friendly environment. So far in 2024 in his first 55 at-bats, Drury has been cold, picking up only 11 hits for a .200 batting average while hitting one home run, driving in three and scoring five runs. The Reds currently don't have a starter listed for Friday's contest yet.

Wed Apr 1719:18Brandon Drury Won't Start Again Thursday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) will only be available to pinch hit on Wednesday and Thursday to wrap up a series against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to manager Ron Washington. The Angels are being cautious with his left-hamstring tightness on the turf at Tropicana Field. The 31-year-old veteran infielder will miss his third straight start on Thursday, but there's a chance he could be back in there for the start of a series on Friday in Cincinnati against the Reds. In the meantime, expect Luis Rengifo to get another start at the keystone on Thursday in Tampa. Drury has gotten off to a slow start offensively for the Halos in 2024, going 11-for-54 (.204) with only one home run, three RBI and five runs scored in his first 15 games. It sounds like he should avoid a trip to the injured list.

Wed Apr 1716:07Brandon Drury Missing Again Wednesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) is still out of the team's starting lineup on Wednesday versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Luis Rengifo will start at second base again and bat seventh against Rays right-hander Zack Littell. This will be Drury's second straight game on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. The 31-year-old said he was available off the bench on Tuesday, so it doesn't sound like a very serious injury. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues will need to check back on Thursday to see if Drury is able to return for the series finale with the Rays. Rengifo doesn't have a hit in three career at-bats against Littell and is a low-cost, low-upside DFS play near the bottom of the Angels' lineup. In his first 42 plate appearances in 2024 Rengifo has 10 hits, no homers, three RBI and four stolen bases.

Tue Apr 1616:06Brandon Drury, Nolan Schanuel Out On Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (hamstring) and first baseman Nolan Schanuel are both out of the lineup on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Drury should be considered day-to-day for now after leaving Monday night's win with a hamstring injury. If the 31-year-old, who has gone just 11-for-54 (.204) in the early going with one homer, ends up going on the injured list, Luis Rengifo would benefit from everyday playing time at the keystone. Rengifo is at second and batting seventh on Tuesday, while Miguel Sano is at first base and hitting cleanup against Rays right-hander Aaron Civale. Schanuel returned from a testicular contusion on Monday but is getting another day off on Tuesday. Schanuel is struggling in his first full big-league season with just four hits (one homer) in his first 42 at-bats in 2024.UPDATE: Drury said he'll be available off the bench on Tuesday.

Wed Mar 617:48Brandon Drury Continues To Scuffle Wednesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Wednesday's Cactus League contest versus the Oakland A's as his early-spring struggles continue. The veteran is now just 2-for-21 (.095) without an extra-base hit and eight strikeouts across 25 trips to the plate. The 31-year-old has turned things around at the plate over the last few seasons, beginning in 2021 with the Mets. Most recently, he has hit 54 home runs and driven in 170 runs over the last two seasons split between the Angels, Padres, and Reds. ATC is projecting 23 more homers and 74 RBI alongside a .756 OPS in 127 games for Drury in the 2024 season, production fantasy managers would gladly take at the keystone.

Mon Oct 2 202312:25Brandon Drury Finishes Season On A High Note
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury finished his 2023 campaign on a high note on Sunday by clubbing two home runs in the 7-3 win over the visiting Oakland Athletics. Drury finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored. Drury missed seven weeks in the middle of the season with an injury, but he still managed to be one of the most productive hitters on the team this year. The 31-year-old veteran finished with a .262/.306/.497 slash line, an .803 OPS, 26 home runs, 30 doubles, three triples, 83 RBI and 61 runs scored in 523 plate appearances and 125 games. He came just two home runs shy of tying his career-high set last year. Drury has one more year left on the two-year deal he signed before the 2023 season.

Tue Sep 12 202318:31Brandon Drury To Sit Out On Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners. This doesn't appear to be injury related, so fantasy managers can assume his absence is for rest purposes. Drury has struggled lately, going 2-for-21 over his last five games. He'll get a chance to rest and hopefully get back on track. In his absence, Eduardo Escobar will cover second base and bat fifth versus right-hander Bryan Woo on Tuesday.

Fri Sep 8 202308:32Brandon Drury Takes An 0-For-5 Thursday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury struggled at the dish on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians, going 0-for-5, but his club still held onto a 3-2 win. The 31-year-old has struggled a bit since the start of August, hitting just .236 but with six home runs, 22 RBI, and 14 runs across 30 games. Overall, Drury's slashing .264/.305/.486 with 20 bombs, 50 runs, 67 RBI, and no stolen bases over 105 contests. He's taken a minor step back from 2022 when he went deep 28 times with 87 RBI, but the veteran is still a solid source of power in all formats.

Fri Aug 4 202318:08Brandon Drury Activated And Playing On Friday
Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury (shoulder) has been activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The right-handed slugger is back following a seven-week absence due to a left shoulder contusion. This is a bit shocking considering the Angels recently said they wanted Drury to get in more rehab games before activating him. Regardless, it sounds like Drury is good to go, so fantasy managers can get him back in their lineups. He'll bat fifth and play second base during Friday's contest.

Thu Aug 3 202319:35Brandon Drury Needs At Least Two More Rehab Games
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Brandon Drury (shoulder) will play in at least two more minor-league rehab games. The Angels want to see him swing without any hesitation. The hope was that Drury would be activated from the injured list in time to play on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners, but that didn't end up happening. Barring a setback in his next two rehab games, the 30-year-old should be able to rejoin the big-league roster early next week at the latest. When he's ready to return, he should split time at the hot corner with the left-handed-hitting Mike Moustakas, and he could also see time at first base. Before his injury, Drury was hitting a solid .277/.322/.500 with 14 home runs, 17 doubles, two triples, 45 RBI and 36 runs scored in 75 games in his first year in Anaheim.
