The right-hander has certainly fared well despite a three-year hiatus from the majors prior to this season, yielding a 1.71 ERA, 0.68 WHIP, and 20:3 K:BB ratio in 26.1 innings out of the bullpen.

Boyer will earn $700,000 should he make the Padres roster. He spent the majority of the 2013 season with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's Central League where he compiled a 2.67 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 21/4 K/BB ratio over 27 innings of relief work. The 32-year-old will compete for a role in the Padres bullpen in the spring.
