Guillermo Moscoso was tagged for six runs in 4 1/3 innings by the Braves on Friday.
Moscoso doesn't appear long for the Colorado rotation. He's given up six runs in both of his starts so far, leaving him with an 11.57 ERA. It might be time to give Alex White or Christian Friedrich a try.

Sat Apr 28 201201:59Moscoso to be called up from Triple-A
Guillermo Moscoso will be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Saturday against the Mets.
Moscoso will start in place of Jeremy Guthrie, who is headed to the disabled list after spraining his right shoulder in a freak bicycle accident Friday. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 7.91 ERA in four starts at the Triple-A level this year and is an extreme fly ball pitcher, so fantasy owners are advised to steer clear.

Fri Mar 30 201221:21Moscoso one of three Rox optioned to Triple-A
Rockies optioned RHP Guillermo Moscoso, OF Wilkin Castillo and OF Andrew Brown to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Moscoso's rough spring (7.36 ERA, 9/6 K/BB ratio across 11 innings) made him one of the odd men out of Colorado's crowded rotation. With Tyler Chatwood, Josh Outman and Esmil Rogers also all in the fold, Moscoso won't necessarily be first in line if either the elderly Jamie Moyer or raw Drew Pomeranz struggle.

Thu Mar 22 201218:24Guillermo Moscoso beaten up by Padres
Guillermo Moscoso failed to solve a split-squad Padres lineup Thursday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks over three innings of work.
He did strike out three, but it's a rather embarrassing performance given that not a single member of the Padres' starting lineup played. Moscoso had pitched well his previous two times out, but his spring ERA is now up to 7.36 and he might be pitching himself into a bullpen role.

Sat Mar 17 201202:53Guillermo Moscoso goes three scoreless
Guillermo Moscoso followed Alex White with three scoreless innings Friday against the Reds.
Moscoso struck out three in the game. Since giving up four runs in his first outing of the spring, he's allowed just an unearned run over six innings. He remains in the running to make the Rockies rotation, with a spot in middle relief likely serving as a fallback.

Tue Mar 6 201219:08Guillermo Moscoso tagged for four runs
Guillermo Moscoso was tagged for four runs on five hits and two walks over two innings in his spring debut Tuesday.
He served up a pair of longballs -- one to Alfonso Soriano and one to Brett Jackson. It's not the kind of first impression you want to make with your new club when you're trying to win a rotation spot, but Mosocoso has plenty of time to turn things around. He held a 3.38 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 128 innings last season for the A's.

Mon Jan 16 201213:40Rockies get Moscoso, Outman for Seth Smith
Rockies acquired RHP Guillermo Moscoso and LHP Josh Outman from the Rockies for OF Seth Smith.
Moscoso, 28, registered a promising 3.38 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 128 innings last season for the A's. He's doubtful to match that kind of success this year in Colorado, where the ball flies further and the stadium is much cozier, but he should make a nice addition to Rockies' pitching staff. It's not yet clear whether they'll use him as a starter or reliever.

Sun Sep 25 201100:45Guillermo Moscoso loses to Angels
Guillermo Moscoso surrendered four runs -- three earned -- in seven innings Saturday in a loss to the Angels.
Moscoso ends the year 8-10 with a 3.38 ERA and an exceptional 1.09 WHIP. Considering that he fanned a modest 74 and he gave up 14 homers in his 128 innings, he certainly had luck on his side in finishing with such solid numbers. Still, maybe he can be a decent enough fourth or fifth starter going forward. He won't make much more than the minimum next year, so the A's will certainly bring him back.

Sun Sep 18 201119:18Moscoso can't top Verlander
Guillermo Moscoso lost Sunday despite allowing only one run on one hit and two walks over six innings against the Tigers.
He struck out eight in a fantastic performance, but with Justin Verlander on the hill for the opposition, Moscoso wasn't able to get around the one mistake he made all day -- a solo shot given up to Austin Jackson in the sixth inning. It's the second time in his last three starts that he's taken a no-hitter deep into a game. The journeyman lefty is just 8-9 on the year despite a 3.35 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He'll get the Angels next weekend.

Wed Sep 14 201101:34Moscoso allows three runs on five hits
Guillermo Moscoso allowed three runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings of work on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.
He struck out two and allowed five hits and a walk. Moscoso was coming off two amazing September starts in which he allowed one run over 15 2/3 innings. Things weren't as easy on Tuesday, but he kept his team in the game despite his struggles before the bullpen let it get away. Moscoso will take a 3.44 ERA into a date against the Tigers this weekend.

Wed Sep 7 201118:24Oakland's Moscoso loses no-no in eighth
Guillermo Moscoso lost a no-hitter in the eighth but pitched 8 2/3 scoreless innings Wednesday in a victory over the Royals.
He should have had his first career shutout, but the A's replaced him after a Scott Sizemore error put a second runner on base with two outs in the ninth. Fautino De Los Santos came in then and retired Eric Hosmer to end the 7-0 game. Moscoso retired 23 of 24 batters before Salvador Perez singled in the eighth. He improved to 8-8 with a 3.34 ERA for the season.

Sat Sep 3 201101:18Guillermo Moscoso wins for A's
Guillermo Moscoso bounced back from a drubbing at Boston's hands to limit the Mariners to two runs -- one earned -- in seven innings in a victory Friday.
Moscoso struck out six and walked one. He's given the A's nine quality starts in 17 tries, and he has a 3.63 ERA overall. He's still not someone they should be counting on as a rotation mainstay going forward, but as a sixth or seventh starter, he has some value.

Sat Aug 27 201118:14Moscoso gives seven runs in loss to BoSox
Guillermo Moscoso was knocked around for eight runs (seven earned) over four innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon.
The seven earned runs matched a career-high. Moscoso gave up nine hits, including a two-run homer to Jason Varitek, while walking two and striking out none. His ERA jumped from 3.28 to 3.80 in the loss. He hasn't pitched nearly as well as his ERA would indicate, though he has a promising matchup against the Mariners next week.

Sun Aug 21 201121:31Moscoso's gem goes to waste
Guillermo Moscoso tossed eight innings of one-run ball but ended up with a loss against the Jays Sunday.
Moscoso was dominant, striking out seven and walking one while giving up just three hits. His lone mistake was to Jose Bautista, who took him deep for the game's only run. With two earned runs allowed or less in three of his last four starts, Mosoco would be on the mixed league radar if he wasn't scheduled to start in Boston next week.

Wed Aug 17 201101:06Moscoso improves to 6-6 by beating Orioles
Guillermo Moscoso allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits in six innings of work on Tuesday, improving to 6-6 in Oakland's 8-4 win against the Orioles.
He struck out four and walked one. Moscoso has allowed three earned runs over his last two starts, putting an end to a rough stretch where he had allowed four or more runs in three of his previous four starts, ballooning his ERA from 2.16 to 3.69. It's now down to 3.48. He's a risky spot-starting option in mixed leagues.

Fri Aug 5 201122:40Moscoso hit hard in loss to Rays
Guillermo Moscoso allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings on Friday, falling to 4-6 in Oakland's 8-4 loss to the Rays.
He struck out three. Moscoso has now allowed four or more runs in three of his past four starts, ballooning his ERA from 2.16 to 3.69. The owner of an ugly 35/27 K/BB ratio in 70 2/3 innings of work, he's a poor spot-starting option in mixed leagues.

Sun Jul 31 201100:25Guillermo Moscoso earns win over Twins
Guillermo Moscoso beat the Twins by allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings on Saturday night.
Moscoso, who has a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts and two relief appearances, is almost certainly up for good this time. His rotation spot is secure with Rich Harden gone, and he should maintain steady value in AL-only leagues.

Tue Jul 19 201116:22A's recall RHP Moscoso from minors
Athletics recalled RHP Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Sacramento.
Moscoso will the start Tuesday night against the Tigers. The 27-year-old right-hander has a superficially impressive 2.16 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over eight starts and two relief appearances with the A's this season, despite a mediocre 27/18 K/BB ratio and a rather fortunate batting average on balls in play. He's not to be trusted outside of deep AL-only leagues.
