Tue May 21 201323:00Cloyd holds down Marlins to pick up first win
Tyler Cloyd allowed two runs over seven innings as the Phillies beat the Marlins on Tuesday.
It was just the second start of the year for the right-hander, and he picked up his first win after allowing eight hits and two walks over his seven innings. If he continues to pitch well, he's got a good shot to hold onto the rotation spot vacated when Roy Halladay went down. His next start will likely come Monday against the Red Sox.

Cloyd will return to make the start Tuesday night against the Marlins. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings against the Diamondbacks back on May 10 and makes for a decent streaming option in NL-only leagues.

Sun May 19 201311:31Tyler Cloyd will start on Tuesday
Tyler Cloyd will be recalled to start on Tuesday against the Marlins.
The schedule allowed the Phillies to go with four starters for a while, but Cloyd will return with the No. 5 spot coming up. The righty pitched well earlier this month against the D'Backs and isn't a bad streaming option in Miami.

Sat May 11 201300:43Tyler Cloyd goes 6 1/3 innings versus D'backs
Tyler Cloyd, called up before the game, pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs Friday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.
Despite a subpar fastball, Cloyd has been a surprisingly solid major league starter in seven outings dating back to last year. We wouldn't expect it to last, though. With two off days next week, the Phillies will have the option of skipping Floyd and not using him until the Marlins series May 20-22. If they go that route, Cloyd would be worthy of a brief pickup in NL-only leagues.

Cloyd will start Friday against the Diamondbacks in place of the injured Roy Halladay. The right-hander got the call partly because he's on the 40-man roster and Adam Morgan isn't Cloyd has a 5.40 mark so far this year at Triple-A and is only a deep NL-only league option.

Sat Mar 2 201315:46Tyler Cloyd gets tagged for six runs
Tyler Cloyd was pounded for six runs in two innings out of the pen by the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Cloyd held his own in six major league starts late last year, but he doesn't have the stuff to take a step forward. In truth, he could have a tough time just sticking as a middle reliever. He'll likely open this season at Triple-A.

Tyler Cloyd lasted just three-plus innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Thursday, surrendering three runs on five hits in the process.
Cloyd punched out four without issuing a free pass in the game. Working on short-rest, he cruised through the first three innings virtually unscathed, but ran into trouble in the fourth. After a pair of singles to start the frame, Matt Dominguez followed with a three-run bomb to chase Cloyd from the game. He's compiled a 1-1 record, 4.95 ERA and 20/3 K/BB ratio through his first 20 innings on the season, and will attempt to get back in the win column when he battles the Mets in New York on Tuesday.
