Sun Jun 29 201415:48Sierra doubles, homers as White Sox top Jays
Moises Sierra went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.
It was a rare sighting of offense from Sierra, who has played sparingly this season. He took Mark Buehrle out to left field in the fourth inning for his second home run of the season. Sierra also doubled and scored in the ninth, helping the White Sox add some late insurance runs. Sierra, who was selected by the White Sox off of waivers from the Blue Jays in early May, is slashing .278/.303/.417 with five RBI in 76 plate appearances with his new team.

Wed May 28 201423:23Moises Sierra delivers game-winner
Moises Sierra singled in pinch-runner Leury Garcia in the bottom of the ninth to give the White Sox a 3-2 win over the Indians on Wednesday.
Sierra has been limited to playing against lefties lately, so this was just his second start in nine days. He's hitting .273 with four RBI in 44 at-bats as a member of the White Sox since being claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays on May 3. His role really shouldn't expand further, so his AL-only value is very limited.

Sat May 3 201414:51White Sox add outfielder Moises Sierra
White Sox claimed outfielder Moises Sierra off waivers from the Blue Jays.
With Jordan Danks set to take an expanded role in the White Sox outfield in Adam Eaton's absence, Sierra figures to become Alejandro De Aza's platoon partner and start against lefties. He's hit .238/.294/.426 with four homers in 101 at-bats versus southpaws in the majors. That's not great, but it makes him a better option than anyone the White Sox had in Triple-A.

Wed Apr 30 201423:45Moises Sierra goes hitless again
Moises Sierra went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's loss and is just 2-for-34 with one walk this season.
The Jays figure to keep their eyes open for a right-handed bat to replace Sierra on the roster. As much as he's struggling in Adam Lind's absence, they should consider start using Dioner Navarro and Josh Thole in the lineup together on occasion, with one DHing.

Fri Dec 6 201320:04Moises Sierra likely to platoon with Lind
According to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com, Moises Sierra is the early favorite to platoon at first base with Adam Lind.
Mark DeRosa functioned as a platoon partner for Lind in 2013, but has since retired. The 25-year-old has played exclusively in the outfield during his major league career, but has begun taking grounders at first base in order to improve his versatility. Sierra is out of options, and may be squeezed off the roster if he can't make the transition.
