Wed Sep 1100:42Cedric Mullins Homers Twice, Steals Base Tuesday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins continued his strong offensive September in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Red Sox. Mullins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a two-run HR, a walk, and a stolen base. The 29-year-old snuck a first-inning Kutter Crawford pitch just into the right-field seats and took Crawford deep to right field with more authority in the third inning. Mullins' season stats leave something to be desired, but he has been on fire in September, slashing .400/.500/.833 with four HR and two stolen bases in 30 at-bats. Mullins is currently rostered in 63 percent of leagues, so he could be available for fantasy managers looking for a hot bat to add down the stretch.

Mon Sep 917:19Cedric Mullins Hitting Second Against Red Sox
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is starting in center field and is batting out of the two-hole on Monday at Fenway Park against the division-rival Boston Red Sox and right-hander Brayan Bello. With Mullins starting to swing the bat well in September, they are moving him up to his highest lineup spot of the year on Monday. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter has also batted .444 with a .989 OPS in nine career at-bats against Bello. So far in September, Mullins has gone 10-for-24 (.417) with two homers, a double, six RBI, one stolen base and five runs scored in seven games played. He's also been much better against righties this year, batting .248 (74-for-298) with 14 of his 15 home runs against righties. While Mullins is hot, ride him in season-long fantasy leagues and in DFS on Monday against Bello.

Tue Aug 2719:00Cedric Mullins Returning To The Lineup
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (quadriceps) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The lefty slugger returns to the field after missing two games due to left quad tightness. He'll cover center field and bat seventh against right-hander Jack Flaherty. The 29-year-old continues to regress at the plate as he's hitting .225 with 13 home runs and 41 RBI in 119 games this season. The savior for his fantasy value is the fact he has 23 stolen bases, which gives him some value in category leagues.

Sat Aug 2415:00Cedric Mullins Kept Out Of Saturday's Lineup
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (quadriceps) is not in Saturday's lineup as the Orioles continue a series against the Houston Astros. Mullins was lifted from Friday evening's contest due to tightness and will be given a day off to rest. As a result, Colton Cowser will shift to center field, which opens up left and right field for Austin Slater and Anthony Santander, respectively. Prior to the injury, the 29-year-old center fielder was carrying an excellent .294/.478/.471 line across his past ten games. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to the Baltimore lineup before their game against the Astros on Sunday evening. The Baltimore outfield should be left out of your DFS lineup this afternoon as they will face Astros ace Framber Valdez, who is coming off a seven-inning scoreless performance.

Fri Aug 2321:21Cedric Mullins Leaves Game Early With Left Quad Tightness
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (quadriceps) exited Friday night's game against the Houston Astros early with left-quad tightness, according to the team. Mullins was replaced in the top of the fifth inning by Austin Slater after going 0-1 with a walk. The team has not said much else on his status and Mullins should be considered day-to-day until further notice. The lefty had been heating up over the last two weeks, hitting for a .960 OPS in his last 35 PA. Though mainly in a platoon role, his bat has been important for the Orioles as they attempt to keep pace with the New York Yankees in the AL East race. If Mullins is forced to miss time, expect Ryan O'Hearn to pick up more time in the outfield against righties. O'Hearn should make for a solid platoon matchup against righties for fantasy managers, hitting for a 127 OPS+ in 2024.

Mon Aug 1917:42Ryan O'Hearn, Cedric Mullins Out Versus Lefty
Baltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn and outfielder Cedric Mullins are sitting out Monday's game against the New York Mets at Citi Field with a left-hander on the mound. Eloy Jimenez is serving as Baltimore's DH and will hit sixth, while rookie Colton Cowser will start in center field and bat seventh against Mets left-hander David Peterson. O'Hearn has only faced lefties 29 times this year, going 7-for-27 (.259) with none of his 12 homers. Meanwhile, Mullins has hit just .143 (11-for-77) with one of his 13 homers in 2024 against southpaws, so it's no surprise that both players are sitting to begin the week. Cowser, who also bats from the left side, is hitting .229 (22-for-96) with four of his 18 homers against lefties in his first MLB season. He has never faced Peterson. Jimenez hasn't homered against a lefty this year but has gone 16-for-55 (.291) against them.

Tue Aug 616:52Coby Mayo, Cedric Mullins On The Bench Against Toronto
Baltimore Orioles rookie third baseman Coby Mayo and outfielder Cedric Mullins are both out of the starting lineup on Tuesday versus the hosting division-rival Toronto Blue Jays. Ramon Urias will start at third and hit ninth, while Colton Cowser will play center field and bat leadoff against Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Mayo, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will get a breather after going hitless in 11 plate appearances with two walks and five strikeouts in his first three big-league games. The 22-year-old provides some intriguing upside the rest of the way with Jorge Mateo (elbow) and Jordan Westburg (hand) on the injured list, but he could split time with Urias if he continues to struggle offensively. After a five-game hitting streak to close out July, Mullins has gone hitless in his last 15 plate appearances over four games to start August with three strikeouts.

Sat Jul 2722:35Cedric Mullins Homers, Knocks In Four Runs Saturday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins homered and knocked in four runs in a 9-4 loss to the San Diego Padres Saturday afternoon. Mullins drove in all four of the runs the Orioles scored. The veteran is now hitting .217 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 42 runs scored on the season. Mullins continues to fight for playing time in a crowded outfield situation in Baltimore, sitting against left-handed pitching but usually earning starts against right-handers.

Fri Jul 2617:07Cedric Mullins Sitting Against Right-Hander
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is on the bench for Friday's series opener against the visiting San Diego Padres despite a right-hander being on the mound. It's the second straight game that Mullins will start on the bench with a right-handed starter on the mound for the opponent. Rookie Colton Cowser will start in center field and will bat eighth for the O's versus Padres rookie right-hander Adam Mazur. Mullins does have 17 stolen bases in 285 at-bats in 2024, but otherwise he's been a disappointment with a .214 average (61-for-285) and 10 home runs in 93 games. The Orioles have plenty of young outfield options, which hasn't helped his cause. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter has gone just 9-for-46 (.196) in 17 contests in July with a homer, two doubles, four RBI, three walks and 15 strikeouts.

Fri Jun 2809:30Cedric Mullins Records Three Hits
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins was hot at the plate during Thursday's game against the Texas Rangers. The veteran outfielder went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the blowout. The fourth inning blast by Mullins marked his fourth home run of the season. Mullins has been off to a slow start to the season but hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for him.

Tue Jun 2516:20Ryan O'Hearn, Cedric Mullins On The Bench Versus Southpaw
Baltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn and outfielder Cedric Mullins will take a seat on Tuesday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians with a left-hander on the mound. Infielder Ramon Urias is also starting on the bench. Adley Rutschman will serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff, rookie Colton Cowser is in center field and batting ninth, and Jordan Westburg is playing third and hitting fifth against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. James McCann is catching and batting eighth. O'Hearn and Mullins typically hit the bench with lefties on the mound. McCann is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, going 7-for-22 with eight RBI. Mullins has become a part-time player in Baltimore this year given his overall struggles at the plate. He's hitting just .204.

Thu Jun 2010:35Cedric Mullins Comes Up Big In Extra-Inning Win
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins went 2-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Yankees. Mullins played an integral role in the victory, singling home a run in the top of the tenth inning and then scoring on a throwing error when attempting to steal third base. Mullins has seen his batting average and on-base percentage drop precipitously over the last few seasons, bottoming out in 2024 with a current average of .193. On the bright side, the 29-year-old is hitting .323 (10-for-31) since June 9, with two doubles, a triple, seven runs scored, three stolen bases, and a 2:2 BB:K, so perhaps he's starting to turn things around.

Sat Jun 112:51Cedric Mullins Retreats To The Bench
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is retreating to the bench on Saturday against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Colton Cowser will slide over to center field and bat sixth, while Kyle Stowers mans left field and hits in the eight-hole against Rays right-hander Taj Bradley. Mullins is still useful for his speed on the basepaths -- he's swiped 11 bags in 52 games this year -- but he's hitting just .185 (30-for-162) with six home runs, 22 RBI and 22 runs scored in 175 plate appearances with a career-high 25.7% strikeout rate. If Mullins continues to struggle offensively, he'll find himself on the bench more often against right-handed pitching. Stowers has gotten some run in Mullins' expense and has capitalized by going 7-for-18 with three doubles and five RBI in his first 10 games in 2024.

Sat May 2512:11Cedric Mullins Sitting Against White Sox
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins and infielder Jorge Mateo are both sitting out of the lineup on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox. Kyle Stowers will draw into the lineup in left field and will hit eighth, while Ramon Urias will play third base and bat ninth against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde. Rookie Colton Cowser shifts over to center field and will hit sixth in the batting order. Mullins' fantasy stock continues to fall after going hitless on Friday to drop his season line to .195/.242/.336, although he does have six home runs, 20 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 149 at-bats for the O's. Stowers has only played in seven games in his third big-league season in 2024 and has gone 2-for-8 with an RBI and three strikeouts. He represents a low-upside DFS option near the bottom of the Baltimore batting order on Saturday.

Fri May 1716:10Cedric Mullins Sitting Out Again Friday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins remains out of the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Seattle Mariners and right-hander Bryce Miller. It's the third time in the last five games that Mullins has started on the bench for the Orioles. Rookie Colton Cowser is in center field and is hitting sixth on Friday, while Kyle Stowers is starting in left field and batting eighth against Miller. Mullins' fantasy stock is obviously down with his loss of playing time coming due to his .183/.234/.349 slash line on the year with six home runs, 18 RBI and six stolen bases in 126 at-bats. Since April 22, Mullins has gone 5-for-59 (.085) with a home run, three RBI, two stolen bases, four walks and 19 strikeouts in 63 plate appearances over 18 games played. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues need to keep Mullins on their bench until he starts producing again.

Sun May 1213:14Cedric Mullins Out Of Sunday's Lineup
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is the second game in a row that Mullins has missed, which is likely due to his middling performance at the plate. The veteran speedster is slashing a disappointing .192/.244/.367 with a 33:8 K:BB, but he does have six home runs, 18 RBI and six steals. Managers in deeper leagues can hang onto Mullins a little longer, but he enters droppable territory if playing time becomes a significant concern. Colton Cowser is starting in centerfield and batting seventh with Mullins out. Cowser is also trying to bust a slump as he is batting .149 with no homers across his last 15 games.

Sat May 1113:04Cedric Mullins Out Of Saturday’s Lineup, Heston Kjerstad In
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is not in Saturday's lineup after starting the last three games. As a result, Colton Cowser will shift to center field which opens the door for Heston Kjerstad to start in left field. Mullins has had a disappointing season with a .193/.246/.370 across 36 games and a rough .087/.125/.130 through the start of May. Kjerstad was promoted to the major league roster on April 22 but has not had stable playing time. However, with how Mullins is struggling at the plate, Kjerstad may be given more opportunities. Kjerstad is worth inserting in your DFS lineup as he will face Ryne Nelson who enters Saturday's game with a 5.23 ERA.

Sat Apr 2016:42Cedric Mullins Out Of Lineup Against Lefty On Saturday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is out of the Orioles lineup on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. This appears to be a matchup decision as the Royals are starting their dynamic lefty Cole Ragans. Jorge Mateo will be starting in center field in place of Mullins. Mateo has been much stronger against lefties, hitting for a .908 OPS compared to Mullins' .388 OPS in 16 PA. The 29-year-old should be expected to be back in the lineup on Sunday as the Orioles will face off against Royals right-hander Seth Lugo.

Wed Apr 1718:28Cedric Mullins Blasts Walkoff Homer
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins came up clutch for his team during Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. There was some thought that Mullins would return to the leadoff spot this season, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Instead, Mullins normally sits in the sixth spot where he has hit well this season. On Wednesday, Mullins was hitless until he blasted a walkoff two-run home run off right-hander Griffin Jax. Mullins now has five home runs and 15 RBI through 18 games.

Tue Apr 1600:56Cedric Mullins Has Strong Overall Game Monday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins did it all in Monday's 7-4 win over the Twins. Mullins went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, three RBI, and an amazing diving catch. The 29-year-old is off to an encouraging start after a down 2023 and is now slashing .265/.321/.551 with four HR, 12 runs scored, 13 RBI, and two stolen bases in 57 plate appearances. He should provide fantasy value as long as he can produce enough to see routine time in one of baseball's best lineups.
