Mon Sep 1621:25Randy Rodriguez Throwing Bullpen Sessions
San Francisco Giants rookie right-hander Randy Rodriguez (elbow) had a 3.93 ERA over 33 major-league appearances this year before landing on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 15. Rodriguez was diagnosed with a flexor strain and was shut down for two weeks before resuming a throwing program on Sept. 3. He threw a 30-pitch bullpen session at Oracle Park on Sept. 12 and threw another bullpen on Sunday. As long as the 25-year-old doesn't suffer a setback as he builds himself back up, he has a shot to return to the Giants' big-league bullpen before the end of the 2024 season at the end of September. Rodriguez has appeared in 33 games (one start) in his first year in the big leagues and has gone 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:16 K:BB in his 50 1/3 innings pitched.

Thu Aug 1516:46Randy Rodriguez Lands On Injured List
The San Francisco Giants placed right-hander Randy Rodriguez (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with right-elbow inflammation and recalled right-hander Spencer Bivens from the minors in a corresponding move. In his first season in the big leagues, Rodriguez has gone 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA (3.28 FIP), a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:16 K:BB in 50 1/3 innings pitched over 33 appearances (one start). It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old Dominican reliever will be able to return to San Francisco's bullpen before the end of August. In the meantime, Bivens will take his spot with the big-league pitching staff. The 30-year-old, who is also a rookie, has been a bit fortunate he's allowed only five earned runs on 19 hits while walking six and fanning 18 in 22 2/3 innings over his 11 outings (one start).

Tue Jun 2518:15Randy Rodriguez To Serve As Opener
San Francisco Giants pitcher Randy Rodriguez will serve as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. It appears the Giants are going to go with a bullpen game here. Rodriguez will likely pitch a few innings, but probably not enough to factor into the decision. The 24-year-old holds a 4.82 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 31/9 K/BB ratio in 18 games. Fantasy managers should probably look elsewhere for a streaming option on Tuesday.
