Sat Sep 11 202100:13Josh Bell Homers In Return To Pittsburgh
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell played in Pittsburgh for the first time since being traded from the Pirates Friday, and he fittingly smashed a solo home run, his 26th of the season. He also walked twice in four plate appearances. Bell has raised his season OPS to .812, which would be the second-highest mark of his career if the season were to end today. He's slashing a robust .304/.418/.643 with five homers over his last 15 games, which should hopefully finally raise his fantasy rostership up to appropriate levels.

Fri Sep 10 202112:36Josh Bell Drives In Two Runs Thursday
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell drove in two more runs Thursday, going 1-for-5 with a first-inning double. He was also robbed of a potential single up the middle on a scorched ground ball off of Atlanta relief pitcher Tyler Matzek. Bell has been among the league leaders in plate appearances with runners on base all season, and that should continue to be the case as opposing teams appear all but unwilling to pitch to Juan Soto. Bell is slashing .305/.397/.576 with four homers over his last 15 games and should be rostered in all formats.

Thu Sep 9 202114:31Josh Bell Goes Deep Wednesday
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell hit his 25th home run of the season against the Atlanta Braves Wednesday. He went 1-for-4 with a walk at the plate. The two-run shot came off of starting pitcher Touki Toussaint in the fourth inning of a 4-2 victory. Bell has slashed .271/.373/.514 with seven home runs over his past 30 games, lifting his season OPS to .804. He should provide plenty of homers and RBI for fantasy managers the rest of the way batting behind the perennially-on-base Juan Soto.

Sun Aug 29 202123:01Josh Bell Homers Twice Against Mets
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell hit two home runs Sunday, going 2-for-4 with three RBI against the New York Mets. Bell now has 23 homers on the season, with eight coming in his last 30 games as he's slashed .257/.339/.535 in that time. He has a six-game hit streak going, with three multi-hit games in that span. With Juan Soto reaching base constantly, Bell should see plenty of RBI opportunities the rest of the way and should be in fantasy lineups in all formats.

Thu Aug 26 202113:25Josh Bell Hits Two-Run Shot Wednesday
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell was making solid contact against Miami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera all night Wednesday, but he had nothing to show for it until he connected on a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning. It's his 21st home run of the season. Bell went 1-for-4 in the game. Bell now has exactly one hit in seven of his last eight games, with the only exception being a pinch-hit appearance on August 21. He's a solid option at first base going forward..

Thu Aug 19 202110:54Josh Bell Hits Three-Run Homer Wednesday Night
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell hit a three-run shot against the Toronto Blue Jays in thee seventh inning Wednesday night to give Washington the lead for good. It was his 20th home run of the year and his only hit in five at-bats in the game. After a torrid June and July, Bell has cooled down in August with a .203/.273/.390 slash line, but he still should be a solid source of power the rest of the way. With Juan Soto being walked multiple times a game, the RBI opportunities should be in good supply for Bell and his fantasy managers as well.

Sun Aug 8 202113:21Josh Bell Playing Outfield For First Time In Years
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell is playing the outfield on Sunday for the first time in five years, as Juan Soto is again sitting with a knee issue. The Nationals have been prepping Bell to return to the outfield for a month, according to MASNsports.com. Bell, who is in right field and hitting cleanup on Sunday, has come on strong for Washington and fantasy managers after a slow start to the season. He is slashing .250/.315/.478 with 19 home runs and 60 RBI in 324 at-bats on the year. Bell is a solid first-base option in mixed leagues and would become an outfield asset as well if he plays there enough to gain eligibility.

Fri Aug 6 202100:57Josh Bell Homers Off Aaron Nola Thursday
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell had a strong game against the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, going 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and two runs scored. The switch-hitter's 19th home run of the season came off Phillies ace Aaron Nola. Bell has been outstanding over the last several months, but even better of late with a 1.050 OPS and three home runs coming in just his last seven games. He's been most effective against lefty pitching, with 12 of his home runs coming right-handed, but this performance shows how threatening he can be from the left as well, and he's a strong fantasy play any day of the week.

Wed Aug 4 202101:12Josh Bell Notches Two-Run Homer
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday night, launching his 18th long ball of the season off of Phillies starter Zack Wheeler. Bell has been on fire of late, with a .294/.351/.549 slash line with seven homers in his last 30 games. A dismal .464 OPS in April has held down his season-long numbers, and perhaps that explains why he isn't on more rosters. He's in position for plenty of RBI batting behind Juan Soto daily and should provide excellent fantasy numbers.

Sun Aug 1 202121:53Josh Bell Drives In Two Sunday
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell was back in the lineup batting third after getting a breather Saturday, and he went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored against the Chicago Cubs. Bell is one of the last men standing on the Washington offense, but he still figures to see plenty of RBI opportunities batting behind Juan Soto. Bell has had a very solid year with a .783 OPS, 17 homers, 49 runs scored, and 55 RBI. He should be rostered in all formats, though somehow he remains available in many leagues.

Sat Jul 31 202102:55Joey Votto homers for 7th straight game, 1 shy of MLB record
NEW YORK (AP) — Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game, one shy of a major league record, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night. Jonathan India went deep twice for the Reds, including a leadoff shot that came on Carlos Carrasco’s first pitch with the Mets. Acquired from Cleveland in January, the veteran right-hander finally made his New York debut after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was an up-and-down day for the Mets, who made a big deal to get Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs before baseball’s trade deadline — and then revealed injured ace Jacob deGrom will be shut down for two more weeks because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, making it unlikely he’ll rejoin the NL East leaders before September. Báez was acquired from the Cubs along with right-hander Trevor Williams for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft. Báez is expected to join the Mets on Saturday and will play shortstop... [More]

Sat Jul 31 202100:07Josh Bell Continues Home Run Binge
Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell was one of the last men standing along with Juan Soto after the trade deadline dust settled Friday, and he continued his hot streak against the Chicago Cubs. Bell went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run, his 17th of the season. He's homered five times in his last 11 games and has posted an impressive .567 slugging percentage over his last 30. The overall offense might be a bit weaker going forward than it has been, but Bell should maintain most of his value batting fourth on a daily basis.
