Tue Jun 28 202215:36Mookie Betts To Resume Baseball Activities
Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts said that outfielder Mookie Betts (ribs) will resume baseball activities on Wednesday, and a best-case scenario has Betts back from the injured list seven to 10 days after. The 29-year-old superstar outfielder is recovering from a fractured right rib, and it's great news that he'll get back to baseball activities this week. There's a chance he could return just before next month's All-Star break in the middle of July, barring any setbacks on a minor league rehab assignment. Betts was hitting .273/.349/.535 with an .884 OPS, 17 home runs, 40 RBI, 53 runs scored and six stolen bases in 60 games and 275 plate appearances. He's obviously a must-stash in all fantasy leagues until he returns.

Sun Jun 26 202218:02Mookie Betts Not Cleared For Baseball Activities
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (ribs) has not been cleared for baseball activities yet, according to manager Dave Roberts. The organization was hopeful that Betts would return within two weeks. That timetable is not realistic and fantasy managers should expect Betts to be sidelined until around the All-Star break. This is certainly frustrating for fantasy managers, but they will have to be patient for a little longer.

Sun Jun 19 202206:11Mookie Betts Will Placed On The IL With Cracked Rib
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (rib) is expected to be placed on the injured list with a cracked rib. The 29-year-old was a late scratch for Saturday the second day in a row. X-rays on Betts' ribs came back negative on Friday. However, he underwent an MRI on Saturday, revealing a cracked rib. Betts will miss at least the next 10 days and won't be eligible to return until the end of June. Eddy Alvarez and Hanser Alberto should see an uptick in playing time while Betts is sidelined, but both players are mainly a speculative add in deep-league formats.

Sat Jun 18 202218:18Mookie Betts Scratched From Lineup Again Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts is sitting for the second consecutive game on Saturday. Although he was originally in the lineup, the fantasy superstar is apparently still not ready to go after suffering a rib injury earlier in the week. The good news is that X-rays on Betts' ribs came back negative on Friday. It is likely that the Dodgers are just being extremely cautious with Betts, who has had injury problems the last few seasons. Expect Betts to return to the lineup either tomorrow or early next week.

Sat Jun 18 202209:18X-Rays Negative On Mookie Betts' Ribs
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (ribs) received X-rays on his ribs on Friday and they came back negative. He is slated to get a CT scan on Saturday. Betts was a late scratch from Friday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with a rib injury. He suffered the injury during an outfield collision this past week. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. He's in the midst of another monster season, slashing .273/.349/.535 with 17 home runs, 40 RBI and 53 runs over 60 games.

Fri Jun 10 202209:56Mookie Betts Goes 0-For-6 In Win Over White Sox
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts had a rough time at the plate in the team's 11-9 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. He went 0-for-6 with a pair of strikeouts. Betts must be happy that the team's three-game series against the White Sox is over. He went just 1-for-14 with three strikeouts across the three-game set. The 29-year-old was phenomenal at the plate in May and he has some gaudy season-long numbers as a result. Over 55 games, he's slashing .289/.366/.560 with 16 home runs, six stolen bases, 39 RBI and 52 runs.

Thu Jun 2 202209:12Mookie Betts Hits His 16th Home Run On Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts had a big game at the plate in Wednesday's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. The home run was his 16th of the year. Betts was one of the best hitters in the majors across the month of May. He slashed .342/.411/.746 last month while compiling 12 home runs, 27 RBI and 31 runs. His .731 OPS in April seems like ancient history at this point. Betts looks well on his way to yet another elite fantasy season.

Wed May 25 202215:06Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts Out Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Cody Bellinger (illness) and Mookie Betts are not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals. Bellinger will be out for the second straight game after he was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a non-COVID-19 illness. Betts is getting a regular day of rest. Gavin Lux is in left field and hitting seventh, Chris Taylor is in center and batting fifth and Hanser Alberto is in right and hitting eighth against Nationals right-hander Erick Fedde on Wednesday. Bellinger has five homers on the year and six stolen bases, but he's hitting just .216 with a .288 on-base percentage in 40 games for LA. Betts, meanwhile, has been his usual solid self with a .292/.385/.578 slash line with a .963 OPS, a league-leading 12 home runs, 30 RBI, a league-leading 44 runs and three stolen bases in 40 games.

Thu May 19 202208:32Mookie Betts Doubles, Scores A Run On Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts helped the team complete a four-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. He went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the team's 5-3 victory. Betts has been reaping the benefits of leading off for the vaunted Dodgers lineup lately. He's scored a total of 10 runs over his last seven games. However, he hasn't solely been relying on his teammates to drive him home as he has three home runs over that seven-game stretch. After hitting .230/.352/.378 in April, Betts has turned things around to the tune of a .299/.351/.597 slash line in May.

Wed May 11 202210:00Mookie Betts Out Of The Lineup On Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Dillon Peters and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Trea Turner will be leading off for the game with Chris Taylor (knee) returning to the lineup and covering right field. This appears to be nothing but a regular day off for Betts. The 29-year-old is off to a nice start to the month of May. He's recorded at least one hit in seven of eight games this month while slashing .294/.324/.500. Expect to see him back in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fri May 6 202209:34Mookie Betts Riding Six-Game Hitting Streak
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts had a rough opening month to the year, but he's shown some signs of turning things around lately. He's currently riding a six-game hitting streak. Over the course of the streak, he's lifted his season-long slash line from .190/.329/.317 to .247/.350/.412. The six-game stretch has included two home runs, seven runs scored and zero strikeouts. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for Betts, who had an underwhelming season in 2021 and was a popular bounce-back fantasy pick this spring.

Fri Apr 29 202208:36Mookie Betts Slashing .209/.338/.328 Through 17 Games
It's been a slow start to the year for Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts. Across his first 17 games, he's slashing .209/.338/.328 with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles), three stolen bases, five RBI and 17 runs scored. His 15% walk rate and run scoring output from the top of the Dodgers lineup have helped him regularly contribute for fantasy managers. But those have really been the only positives for Betts so far this year. He has a career-low 35.3% hard-hit rate and he's recorded barrels on just two of his 51 batted balls. Unfortunately, most of his underlying numbers look similar to where they were during his disappointing 2021 season, with a few metrics looking even worse.

Thu Apr 21 202209:54Mookie Betts Scores Twice In Wednesday's Win
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts helped lead the team to a 5-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. He went 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in the game. The 29-year-old is off to a slow start to the 2022 season. Through 11 games, he's slashing just .178/.288/.222. He has yet to hit his first home run of the year. Unfortunately, his underlying stats don't look much prettier than his surface numbers. He hasn't recorded a single barrel over 33 batted balls and his .197 xBA and .277 xSLG are both barely better than his actual numbers. He also has an alarming 23.1% strikeout rate, which is much higher than his career 13.3% strikeout rate. If someone is willing to pay first round value for Betts, you may want to consider accepting the offer, but don't sell too low on the former AL MVP as he may just need more time to settle in.

Tue Apr 12 202200:09Mookie Betts Off To Slow 2022 Start
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts has not yet looked like the 15th-drafted player overall so far to start the 2022 season. The 29-year-old has slashed just .214/.214/.286 with a 35.7% strikeout rate through 14 plate appearances. This is obviously a very small sample size and fantasy managers should not worry, but it was disappointing that he could not capitalize on a three-game series in Coors Field. The Dodgers will begin a two-game series at the Twins Tuesday and will face the back-end of their rotation. Hopefully, this will serve as a kick-starter for Betts' season.

Thu Mar 24 202214:15Mookie Betts Remains Out Thursday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (illness) remains out of the team's Cactus League lineup on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies. Betts has been dealing with a stomach illness since Tuesday and will miss a second straight game. Expect the 29-year-old superstar to make his spring debut at some point this weekend. Betts was an All-Star last year for the fifth-time in his career, hitting .264/.367/.487 with an .854 OPS, 23 home runs, 58 RBI, 93 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 550 plate appearances over 122 games. For his standards, it was a bit of a disappointment, but a hip injury that bothered him down the stretch was the likely culprit. Betts should come off the board late in the first round of fantasy drafts.

Tue Mar 15 202220:44Mookie Betts Claims Hip Feels Great
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts (hip) dealt with a right hip injury for a good chunk of the 2021 season. The injury caused him to miss time, but he also wasn't 100% for many of the games he played. When recently asked about the status of his hip at camp, Betts stated "It feels great. I did some good work to get back healthy, and I'm ready to go." Betts also said that he didn't need to have any testing on his hip the last few months, which suggests he indeed has overcome the injury. Betts was held to 122 games last year, his lowest games total in any non-COVID-shortened season since his rookie year in 2014. He's a strong bounce-back candidate in 2022 and well worthy of a late first round pick. He's just about as good as anyone when he's on his game.

Sun Feb 20 202213:29Mookie Betts Looking To Bounce Back In 2022
Despite making his fifth All-Star team in 2021, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts had a disappointing season by his standards, mainly due to injury. But even in 122 games played, Betts was productive, slashing .264/.367/.487 with 23 home runs, 58 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 93 runs scored in 550 plate appearances. The hip injury that Betts dealt with drastically affected his ability on the base paths and likely contributed to his lowered batting average. The 29-year-old remained strong in power metrics, his ability to make contact and his plate discipline, though, so with better health in 2022, Betts could easily bounce back as an elite fantasy contributor.

Thu Sep 30 202108:30Mookie Betts Homers In Wednesday's Win
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts helped the team complete a comeback victory over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. He went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two runs scored in the game. The home run was his first since September 12 and his 22nd of the year. The 28-year-old veteran is slashing .268/.371/.492 over 118 games on the year. He isn't having the type of elite year we're used to seeing from him, but he's still been a consistent all-around contributor. He has 10 stolen bases, 89 runs and 56 RBI to go along with his 22 homers.

Wed Sep 22 202109:10Mookie Betts In Midst Of 12-Game Hitting Streak
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts went 1-for-5 with an RBI in the team's 5-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday. He has now recorded at least one hit in 12 consecutive games. Over the 12-game stretch, he's tallied two home runs, three doubles and nine runs scored. The Dodgers star is slashing .275/.377/.505 with 21 home runs, 10 stolen bases, 55 RBI and 84 runs over 111 games on the year. His 18.7% chase rate ranks in the 95th percentile and he also ranks in the 88th percentile in walk rate (12.4%). This year's arguably been Betts' weakest fantasy year since emerging as a fantasy stud in 2016, but he still remains an elite fantasy asset and he should be a first round pick in all fantasy drafts once again next spring.

Wed Sep 15 202108:14Mookie Betts Riding Seven-Game Hitting Streak
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts went 1-for-5 with a run scored in the team's 8-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He has now recorded at least one hit and at least one run in seven consecutive games, a stretch that has also included a pair of home runs. Betts is slashing .283/.393/.435 through 13 games this month. Over his last 12 games, he's only struck out once while walking seven times. The 28-year-old has 21 home runs, nine stolen bases, 53 RBI and 83 runs over 106 games on the year. He sets the table for a scary Dodgers lineup and he should be set for another strong finish this season.
