Sat Sep 10 202210:27J.T. Realmuto Goes 3-for-3 In Friday's Win
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto was perfect in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Washington Nationals, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a hit-by-pitch, a run, and two RBI. The backstop's having one of the best fantasy seasons of his career, slashing .273/.344/.464 with 16 HRs, 64 runs, 73 RBI, and a career-high 17 SBs. Realmuto's always been fast for a catcher, but his increased aggressiveness on the basepaths has been wonderful for fantasy managers. The 31-year-old stands out as the best catcher in roto leagues.

Thu Aug 11 202211:01J.T. Realmuto Sitting On Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Miami Marlins. It will be a normal day of rest for Realmuto. Since the All-Star break, Realmuto has been hot, going 18-for-50 (.360) with five home runs, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored in 14 games to raise his season line to .268/.339/.455 with 13 home runs, 54 RBI, 52 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 378 plate appearances. When he's on the field, Realmuto is a must-start in fantasy. Garrett Stubbs is doing the catching on Thursday and is hitting eighth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. Stubbs will be a low-upside DFS play on Thursday. He's hitting .270 on the year but has just four home runs and 11 RBI in 30 games played.

The 31-year-old has been having his best month at the plate in July. He owns a month-long slash line of .339/.391/.607 to go along with four home runs, three stolen bases, 15 RBI and seven runs. The 31-year-old catcher had a day off on Friday but he's back in there against D-Backs' starter Madison Bumgarner on Saturday. Realmuto has had a lackluster first half of the season so far, slashing just .242/.316/.366 with five home runs, 20 RBI, and five stolen bases over 186 at-bats.

Sat Jun 4 202209:42J.T. Realmuto Enjoying Modest Five-Game Hitting Streak
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-3 and scored a run in Friday's 10-0 blowout win against the Los Angeles Angels. The hit was just a single, but he's now hit safely in five straight games and nine of his last 10. This stretch has brought Realmuto's batting average to .248 after batting .224 through May 22. Across 46 games, the 31-year-old has just three home runs, 16 RBI, 24 runs, and four stolen bases. Although Realmuto is still being aggressive on the basepaths, fantasy managers have to be disappointed with his production thus far.

Mon May 23 202209:46J.T. Realmuto Hitting .169/.246/.271 In May
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto has been slumping at the plate so far in May. Over 16 appearances this month, he is slashing .169/.246/.271 with just three extra-base hits: a home run, a double and a triple. The 31-year-old veteran currently has an average exit velocity of 86.3 mph, which is down significantly from what we're used to seeing from him. He was right around 90 mph in each of the last three years and his career average is 89 mph. Meanwhile, his hard-hit rate is down from 44.7% last year to 35.1% this year. Very few catchers across the league are providing much value for fantasy managers thus far, so we encourage patience with Realmuto, who has been a mainstay atop the catcher rankings for several years.

Wed May 11 202214:16J.T. Realmuto On The Bench Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto isn't in the starting lineup on Wednesday for a matchup with the Seattle Mariners. Realmuto is batting .255 with a .321 on-base percentage, two home runs, and three stolen bases in 112 plate appearances this season. Instead, it'll be Garrett Stubbs catching and batting ninth on Wednesday against the Mariners and right-handed starter Logan Gilbert. Stubbs is hitting .286 with a .333 on-base percentage in 15 plate appearances this season. Given the tough matchup, fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help at catcher.

Wed Apr 27 202216:45J.T. Realmuto Getting The Day Off Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is absent from the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Ryan Feltner and the Colorado Rockies. Garrett Stubbs will be handling catching duties for the team in the game. Realmuto started each of the team's last 10 games, so he was certainly due for a rest day. The 31-year-old is slashing .303/.343/.409 with one home run, two stolen bases, three RBI and 12 runs scored over 17 games this year. Expect to see him back behind the plate for the series finale on Thursday.

Sun Apr 17 202212:45J.T. Realmuto Could Remain In Leadoff Spot
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto could be the team's regular leadoff hitter moving forward, according to manager Joe Girardi. The only catcher in MLB history to start even 50 games in a season in the leadoff spot was Jason Kendall, who played a career-high 119 games at leadoff for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2004. Realmuto is back in the leadoff spot on Sunday against Miami Marlins right-hander Elieser Hernandez for the second straight game. The three-time All-Star backstop is 9-for-30 with a homer, one stolen base and two RBI in his first eight games this season. Although hitting atop the lineup will take away RBI opportunities, Realmuto is a career .316/.355/.439 hitter with two homers, 19 RBI and six stolen bases in 44 games while hitting leadoff.

Fri Apr 15 202216:18J.T. Realmuto Getting A Breather On Friday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is getting the day off on Friday as the team takes on Pablo Lopez and the Miami Marlins. Garrett Stubbs is getting the start behind the plate in the game. This will be Realmuto's second time out of the starting lineup this year. He was left out of the lineup last Sunday, but he wound up pinch-hitting late in the game. The 31-year-old is off to a nice start to the year, slashing .360/.429/.520 with a home run, a double and a stolen base. Expect to see him back behind the plate on Saturday.

Mon Apr 11 202214:57J.T. Realmuto Returns To The Lineup Monday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is back in the lineup on Monday for a matchup with the New York Mets and right-handed starter Taijuan Walker. He wasn't in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics. One of fantasy baseball's best catchers, Realmuto hit .263 with a .343 on-base percentage, 17 home runs, and 13 stolen bases last season. The veteran is batting second on Monday against Walker and the Mets and should be a quality fantasy option, both in season-long and daily formats. In eight career plate appearances against the right-hander, Realmuto has three hits, one of which was a home run.

Sun Apr 10 202211:50J.T. Realmuto Taking A Day Off
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup on Sunday. It appears to be just a regular day of rest for the All-Star catcher after he went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the first two games of the season. With Realmuto out in the series finale, Garrett Stubbs will do the catching and hit eighth against Oakland Athletics right-hander Daulton Jefferies. Stubbs has played in only 51 major league games over the last three years with the Houston Astros, hitting .182/.238/.247 with no home runs and six RBI in 87 plate appearances, so he'll be a long shot to return any DFS value on Sunday.

Sun Apr 3 202210:26J.T. Realmuto Slashing .310/.355/.517 In Spring
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto has had a strong Spring Training so far. Over 10 games and 29 at-bats, he's slashing .310/.355/.517 with four extra-base hits (one home run, three doubles). The 31-year-old was limited a bit by injuries last year. He played in 134 games and compiled 17 home runs, 13 stolen bases, 73 RBI and 64 runs while slashing .263/.343/.439. Salvador Perez redefined what a catcher could do for fantasy managers last season and that monstrous season of his has led to Realmuto falling a bit out of favor at the position. But Realmuto most certainly remains an elite catcher and should be the second catcher drafted in all formats, especially in roto where his stolen bases are extra valuable. There's also a good chance he reaps the benefits of the designated hitter spot in the NL this year, earning some additional starts and at-bats because of it.

Sun Oct 3 202114:57J.T. Realmuto Resting For Season Finale
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is getting the day off during the team's season finale against the Miami Marlins on Sunday. Andrew Knapp is catching for the team and batting eighth in the lineup. Realmuto had another strong season at the plate in 2021. Over 133 games, he slashed .263/.343/.440 with 17 home runs, 13 stolen bases, 73 RBI and 64 runs. He figures to be one of the first catchers off the board in all fantasy drafts once again next spring.

Fri Oct 1 202118:51J.T. Realmuto Isn't In Friday's Lineup
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto will start Friday's game against the Miami Marlins on the bench. Realmuto is enjoying another productive season, hitting .265 with a .346 on-base percentage, 17 home runs, and 13 stolen bases in 532 plate appearances. Andrew Knapp is starting behind the plate instead and batting eighth. In 148 plate appearances this season, the 29-year-old is batting .156 with a .218 on-base percentage and two home runs. Fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Fri Oct 1 202110:37J.T. Realmuto Cracks 17th Homer In Loss To Braves
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss at the Braves on Thursday. The blast was Realmuto's 17th of the season as he's been among the most consistent fantasy producers at catcher, even if he fell short of his billing as the top catcher in fantasy back in March. The 30-year-old backstop ranks fifth among catchers with a .265 batting average and his 13 steals is a nice bonus as no other catcher has more than eight. Toss in a strong .346 on-base percentage and a .444 slugging percentage and you've got a top-five catcher in fantasy. He'll look to finish the season strong with three games at his former club, the Miami Marlins.

Fri Sep 24 202110:54J.T. Realmuto Has Huge Game Off The Bench Versus Pirates
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto didn't get the start on Thursday versus the Pirates, but the veteran backstop still had a huge game after pinch-hitting for Brad Miller in the sixth inning. Realmuto went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and four RBI as he helped Philly score 12 unanswered runs after Pittsburgh led 6-0 earlier in the contest. Realmuto will carry a strong .270/.352/.451 slash line into three more matchups with the Pirates over the weekend. He remains a must-start catcher in all fantasy formats.

Thu Sep 23 202116:35J.T. Realmuto Sitting Against Pirates On Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is getting the day off on Thursday as the team takes on Connor Overton and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Andrew Knapp is getting the start behind the plate for the game and batting eighth. Realmuto had a strong three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles to start the week. He went 4-for-12 with a double, a triple, a stolen base, three RBI and a run scored in the series. He's slashing .270/.325/.405 over the month of September as a whole. The 30-year-old veteran has had a solid year all-around, though his slugging percentage (.440) is the lowest it's been since 2016, down from .491 last year.

Fri Sep 17 202110:53J.T. Realmuto Exits After Hit By Pitch, X-Rays Negative
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (elbow) left Thursday's win over the Cubs after being hit by a pitch in the left elbow/triceps area, according to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia. Andrew Knapp came in at catcher after Realmuto posted another solid game as he collected an RBI and scored a run. According to manager Joe Girardi, X-rays on Realmuto were negative, but his status for Friday's game is up in the air as Realmuto has been dealing with other nagging injuries late in the season. Philly can ill-afford to lose its All-Star catcher, but an injured list stint feels unlikely for Realmuto. Fantasy managers should have a contingency plan in place in the event Realmuto is out.

Wed Sep 15 202116:24J.T. Realmuto Returns To Lineup At First Base On Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (shoulder) is back in the lineup Wednesday versus Alec Mills and the Cubs. Realmuto will play first base with Andrew Knapp getting another game behind the plate as Realmuto continues to nurse a shoulder injury. Philadelphia announced Realmuto would see more time at first base to try and keep its All-Star catcher healthy down the stretch as Realmuto has been battling a few nagging injuries including his shoulder and ankle. The 30-year-old backstop is having another fine season with a .262/.349/.434 slash line with 14 homers and 10 stolen bases to lead all catchers in thefts. Realmuto should be back in fantasy lineups in all formats.
