Three days after being acquired in a seven-player trade, right-hander Colin Rea is being sent back from the Miami Marlins to the San Diego Padres because of an elbow injury, the teams announced Monday.The Marlins shipped Rea back to the Padres after he only pitched 3 1/3 innings with Miami before getting injured Saturday night.According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Marlins were "absolutely livid" and felt they were traded damaged goods.The Marlins will get Class A right-hander Luis Castillo, who was part of the trade Friday, back from the Padres.Rea, 26, was acquired by the Marlins along with right-hander Andrew Cashner and made his debut Saturday night. The debut lasted 3 1/3 shutout innings when he called for the trainer, and the next day he was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Rea said he first felt pain warming up before the game.The Marlins are keeping Cashner in the new deal.Before getting injured, Rea was 5-5 with a 4.98 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) with San Diego.Castillo, 23, was 7-3 with a 2.25 ERA in 100 innings pitched for Jupiter in the Florida State League at the time of Friday's trade.
