Sat Oct 15 202211:11Rhys Hoskins Makes His Mark In Friday's Blowout
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins was a big help in the 9-1 National League Division Series Game 3 victory against the Atlanta Braves, homering with two on in the third inning off of starter Spencer Strider. He ended up 1-for-3 with three RBI and a walk. It was his first homer of the playoffs and only his second hit, and the slugger is now slashing .095/.136/.286. Hoskins was a force in the lineup during the regular season, batting .246 and going deep 30 times with 79 RBI, 81 runs and a pair of stolen bases. Depending on how far the Phillies go, the 29-year-old should continue to provide power and will look to do so against Charlie Morton, who allowed 1.47 HR/9 in 2022, in Saturday's Game 4.

Fri Sep 16 202216:05Rhys Hoskins On The Bench Against Braves
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (hand) is out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Atlanta Braves. Hoskins was hit on the hand by a pitch on Wednesday, although X-rays thankfully came back negative. He won't start the first game of the series against Atlanta, but there's a chance he'll start at some point this weekend. Hoskins is deserving of being returned to all starting fantasy lineups when he's back in Philly's lineup, as he's clubbed 28 homers and driven in 71 runs in 524 at-bats this year. Alec Bohm will shift to first base and hit second on Friday, while Yairo Munoz is starting at the hot corner and batting eighth against Braves left-hander Max Fried.

Thu Sep 15 202215:59Rhys Hoskins Not Starting On Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (hand) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Miami Marlins. Hoskins was forced from Wednesday's game early after being hit by a pitch in the hand, but thankfully X-rays came back negative and he's just dealing with a contusion. There's a chance that the 29-year-old slugger could be right back in the lineup on Friday for the start of a big series against the Atlanta Braves. With Hoskins on the bench Thursday, Alec Bohm will move across the diamond to first base and hit fifth, while Edmundo Sosa is manning the hot corner and batting ninth in the order against Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez.

Edmundo Sosa replaced Hoskins in the game, while Alec Bohm shifted from third base to first. Sosa would see an uptick in playing time if Hoskins misses any games. Stay tuned.

Wed Sep 14 202220:28Rhys Hoskins Leaves Game After Hit By Pitch
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (hand) was removed from Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins after he was hit on the right hand by a pitch in the third inning of play. Hoskins has a bruise and is going for X-rays. Fantasy managers and the Phillies can ill-afford a serious injury to Hoskins at this juncture of the season, so they'll be crossing their fingers for his X-rays to come back negative. For now, consider the 29-year-old slugger to be day-to-day. Before leaving the contest, Hoskins was hitless in his only at-bat. Coming into Tuesday's game, Hoskins was slashing .250/.338/.470 with an .809 OPS, 28 home runs, 71 RBI, 75 runs scored and one stolen base in 523 at-bats for the Phils.

Sat Jul 30 202211:55Rhys Hoskins Goes 4-For-4, Hits Game-Winning Homer
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins had a night on Friday in the 4-2 extra-inning win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hoskins went 4-for-4 with a game-winning home run in the 10th inning, and he added three RBI, a run scored and a walk. The 29-year-old first baseman is now hitting .253/.342/.481 with an .823 OPS, 20 home runs, 48 RBI, 53 runs scored and a stolen base in 421 plate appearances over 99 games this season. Since the All-Star break, he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with a homer, four RBI and four runs scored in eight games played. Hoskins is certainly heating up and needs to remain in all daily fantasy lineups moving forward.

Wed May 11 202222:01Rhys Hoskins Belts Grand Slam In Wednesday's Win
Philadelphia Phillies' first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a grand slam Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. With the bases loaded, he took Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert deep in the fourth inning for his fifth long ball of the season. The 29-year-old is on an absolute tear, homering in three straight contests. Overall, Hoskins is slashing .222/.309/.444 with five home runs, 16 RBI, and 15 runs scored over 30 games in 2022. Fantasy managers should continue to start Hoskins in all league formats while he's locked in at the plate.

Tue Apr 26 202211:36Rhys Hoskins Plays Big Part In Monday's Victory
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins had three singles in five at-bats Monday to help lead the club to an 8-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. He had no RBI but did score two runs. Hoskins is now slashing .232/.368/.393 with one home run, four RBI, and 10 runs scored across 17 games. We have yet to see the power that helped him hit 27 HRs a year ago, but he's still punishing the ball with a 94 MPH average exit velocity. If Hoskins can play more than the 107 games he appeared in last year, the 29-year-old will be a productive bat who can provide fantasy managers with plenty of counting stats from the second spot in the lineup.

Wed Apr 13 202211:32Rhys Hoskins Not Playing On Wednesday
Philadelphia Phillies infielder Rhys Hoskins (rest) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the New York Mets. It appears the Phillies are giving Hoskins a rest day, so he should be back in their lineup for their next contest. In the meantime, Johan Camargo will cover first base and bat seventh versus right-hander Max Scherzer. This is not an ideal streaming spot for Camargo, so fantasy managers should look elsewhere. Scherzer is one of the best pitchers in the league, so even great hitters struggle against him.

Sun Apr 3 202223:34Rhys Hoskins Healthy This Spring
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (abdomen) is healthy this spring after his 2021 season was cut short by surgery on his abdomen. Hoskins has two homers already this spring as he'll look to improve on his career-best .530 slugging percentage he posted through 107 games in 2021. At 29-years-old, Hoskins is in the prime of his career and should produce solid power numbers for fantasy managers this season as part of a strong Phillies lineup.

Thu Aug 26 202117:51Rhys Hoskins Will Have Season-Ending Surgery
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (abdomen) will have season-ending surgery to "repair a tear in his lower abdomen" per a tweet from MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. The Phillies previously placed the first baseman on the 10-day injured list earlier on Thursday. Hoskins was in the midst of a quality season at the plate, hitting .247 with a .334 on-base percentage, 27 home runs, and three stolen bases in 443 plate appearances. Brad Miller is a candidate to see more playing time at first base for Joe Girardi's squad. The 31-year-old is hitting .218 with a .310 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, and three stolen bases in 271 plate appearances this season. However, he's probably only worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues at the moment. If you're looking for a Hoskins replacement who isn't on the Phillies roster, Brandon Belt and Patrick Wisdom are two names to consider.

Thu Aug 26 202110:51Rhys Hoskins Launches 27th Homer On Wednesday Versus Tampa
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Rays on Wednesday. It was Hoskins' third homer in two starts since returning from the injured list on Sunday. The big first baseman missed some time this season, but when he's healthy Hoskins has been his usual, dependable self in the power department. Hoskins has 27 homers and 71 RBI on the season thanks to a strong .283 ISO and .530 slugging percentage. He's got good matchups on the horizon as the Diamondbacks will head to Philly for a four-game set over the weekend.

Mon Aug 23 202100:22Rhys Hoskins Homers Twice In Return
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins got off to a smashing start in his return from the injured list Sunday, smacking two home runs and also drawing a walk in four plate appearances. Both home runs were solo shots, and they bring his total on the season to 26. Hoskins' slash line of .247/.336/.526 falls neatly in line with his career numbers, meaning his return should be a big boost to the playoff chances of both fantasy managers and the Phillies.

Tue Aug 17 202122:41Rhys Hoskins Not Ready To Return Yet

He has been on the injured list since August 7 after he strained his groin. Hoskins was expected to be activated on Tuesday, but clearly, that was not the case. He was one of the Phillies best hitters before his injury, hitting .244 with 24 HRs, 68 RBI, 61 runs, and a .509 slugging in 104 games. It shouldn't be much longer until Hoskins is back in action, but fantasy managers will have to remain patient.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain on Tuesday, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. Hoskins has been out since Thursday, after slashing .244/.332/.509 with 24 homers, three steals, 68 RBI and 61 runs scored over 104 games so far this year.
