Thu Jun 2 202209:19Ozzie Albies Goes 1-For-5 In Win Over D-Backs
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 1-for-5 with a run scored in the team's 6-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Albies has been slowly lifting his batting average over the last few weeks. He's now batting .248 on the year, a solid increase from the .214 average he had at the end of April. However, he's still lacking significantly in the power department. He's slugging just .396 on the season and he hasn't homered since April 24.

Wed May 25 202216:32Ozzie Albies Batting Second On Wednesday
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is slotting in to the No. 2 spot in the lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies. Albies is coming off of one of his best games of the season. In Tuesday's contest, he went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He began the year as the team's leadoff hitter, but his struggles sent him down the lineup. He's mostly been hitting fifth or sixth lately. If he can build off Tuesday's effort and remain in the No. 2 slot right behind Ronald Acuna Jr., he'll have some increased fantasy potential.

Wed May 25 202209:56Ozzie Albies Reaches Base Four Times On Tuesday
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had one of his best offensive outings of the year in Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He attempted a pair of steals, but was unfortunately caught on both attempts. Albies is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that's helped raise his season-long batting average to .253. His power struggles still remain a concern as he hasn't homered since April 23 and he's slugging just .406 on the year.

Tue May 17 202209:03Ozzie Albies In Midst Of Homer Drought
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in the team's 1-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. The 25-year-old is off to a sluggish start to the 2022 season. He provided some power out of the gate. He hit six home runs from Opening Day to April 23, but he hasn't homered since. Across 36 games on the season, he's slashing .227/.287/.397 with the aforementioned six home runs and an additional six doubles. Albies has some concerning underlying stats, most notably a 23.7% hard-hit rate that ranks in the bottom 3% of the majors, down from his career-best 37.2% hard-hit rate last year. He also ranks in the 22nd percentile in average exit velocity (87.2 mph) and in the 24th percentile in barrel rate (3.8%). Albies has been a high-end fantasy producer dating back to 2018, so we'd bet on him figuring things out soon, but his Statcast metrics are certainly worth keeping an eye on alongside his surface numbers going forward.

Fri May 6 202209:52Ozzie Albies Carrying A 21.8% Hard-Hit Rate
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies has six home runs over 27 games this year, which puts him on a strong 162-game pace of 36 home runs. However, there are some concerns in his underlying power metrics. He currently ranks in the bottom 3% of the league in hard-hit rate (21.8%) and his 86.6 mph average exit velocity ranks in the bottom 17% of the league. Last year, when he hit 30 home runs over 156 games, he had a career-best 37.2% hard-hit rate to go along with an average exit velocity of 89.6%. Albies hasn't homered since April 23 and he has just four doubles on the year. He has a lengthy track record of being a high-end fantasy asset, but his extra-base hits and underlying power metrics are worth monitoring going forward.

Thu Apr 28 202216:15Ozzie Albies Batting Fifth With Ronald Acuna Jr.'s Return
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies will be batting fifth in Thursday night's game against Drew Smyly and the Chicago Cubs. Star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) will be making his highly-anticipated 2022 debut in the game and he's taking over as the team's leadoff hitter. Albies slotted into the leadoff spot in 16 of the team's first 19 games. If he remains in the No. 5 spot throughout the year, he won't see as many at-bats as he would from the leadoff or No. 2 spot, but he should get ample RBI opportunities from the heart of the order. The 25-year-old is off to a nice start to the 2022 season, slashing .240/.314/.533 with six home runs, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored.

Albies' strong start in the power department is validated by career-highs of an 11.9% barrel rate and xSLG of .568. The five-tool dynamo is staring at another stellar season as he stuffs the stat sheet on a nightly basis.

Sun Apr 10 202219:03Ozzie Albies Reaches Twice In Loss To The Reds
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks and a strikeout in a 6-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. The Atlanta bats struggled to get much offense going against Reds rookie Hunter Greene, who had himself an impressive debut. Albies has scuffled at the plate here in the early going, posting a meager .083/.294/.083 batting line across 12 at-bats (four games). He's yet to record an extra-base hit or score a run but he does have a pair of RBI and three walks to his name. The 25-year-old second baseman will look to get it going against the Nationals on Monday as the Braves open up a three-game series at home.

Sat Apr 2 202212:22Ozzie Albies Up To .304 This Spring
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 1-for-3 in his team's 8-7 loss to the Minnesota Twins in Grapefruit League action on Friday. Albies is putting together a solid spring, hitting .304 with a homer, two runs, and an RBI across 23 at-bats. The 25-year-old is coming off a 30-homer, 20-steal season as one of the top fantasy second basemen in the league. As one of the premier power/speed threats in the league at his position, Albies should be the second 2B off of the board in 2022 fantasy drafts after Trea Turner gets selected.

The second baseman is hitting .233 with a .292 on-base percentage and three stolen bases in 65 plate appearances this postseason. Generally a fixture near the top of Atlanta's lineup, Albies didn't hit lower than fifth during the regular season. He previously batted third in each of the first five games of the World Series.

Sat Oct 2 202119:11Ozzie Albies Isn't In Saturday's Lineup
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is on the bench on Saturday. Atlanta will take on the New York Mets and right-handed starter Carlos Carrasco but will do so without the 24-year-old in the lineup. Albies has been plenty productive this season, hitting .259 with a .311 on-base percentage, 30 home runs, and 20 stolen bases in 682 plate appearances. Orlando Arcia is batting second and starting in place of Albies at second base on Saturday. Arcia is hitting .182 with a .238 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a stolen base in 84 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers are probably best off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Thu Sep 23 202110:59Ozzie Albies Sets New Career High
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies made history for himself during Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He went 1-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI in the 9-2 on Wednesday. That home run marked his 30th of the season, while he also knocked in 100 runs on the campaign. The 24-year-old has now put together his first ever 30-homer, 100-RBI season in the big leagues. It has been an incredible season for Albies. There is still time for him to add even more, but this is a huge accomplishment for him.

Wed Sep 22 202111:31Ozzie Albies Launches Homer In Win
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is on the verge of setting a new career high at the plate. On Tuesday, Albies went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run to help beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 24-year-old now has 29 home runs and is so close to his first ever 30-homer, 100-RBI campaign. There is still roughly a week of games remaining, so Albies could very well accomplish this task.

Wed Sep 15 202108:50Ozzie Albies Reaches Base Twice On Tuesday
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 1-for-4 with a walk in the team's 5-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday. He also struck out in the game and he was caught stealing in his only stolen base attempt. Albies got off to a scorching hot start to the month of September as he homered in each of his first four games of the month. However, he struggled a bit after that, going just 1-for-19 over a four-game stretch before breaking through with a home run in this past Sunday's game. While Albies' season-long batting average of .257 is a bit disappointing, he's provided fantastic counting stats this year with career-highs in both home runs (28) and RBI (94).

Tue Sep 7 202123:33Ozzie Albies Homers, Drives In Four
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs scored, four RBI, and a walk during an 8-5 victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. The two-time All-Star connected for his 27th homer, a two-run shot, off of Nationals relief pitcher Ryne Harper during the seventh inning. The 24-year-old now has 27 HR, 93 RBI, 88 R, and 17 SB with a .262/.318/.820 line across 530 at-bats. With a 9.4% barrel rate, 37.4% hard hit rate, and 21.2-degree launch angle, Albies has put together a career year in the power department. The Atlanta second baseman should continue to be the best option at the position for the next several years in a deep and talented lineup.

Sun Sep 5 202100:37Ozzie Albies Goes Deep Again
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies has returned with a fire lit under him. He was back in the lineup on Friday and homered in that contest. A day later, he goes 2-for-5 with a home run in the 7-6 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. The power numbers from Albies have been quiet a surprise this season. He has been an excellent fantasy option and it should remain that way down the stretch.

Sat Sep 4 202100:35Ozzie Albies Returns With Solo Homer
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies was back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He was sidelined for a few games due to a nagging knee issue. However, Albies returned with a bang on Friday. He went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the 4-3 loss. Albies is slashing .259/.316/.487 with 24 home runs, 86 RBI and 17 steals this season. He appears to be healthy, so fantasy managers should plug him right back into their lineups going forward.

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (knee) returns to the lineup and is batting leadoff on Friday against the Colorado Rockies. The 24-year-old missed two games this week after he foul-tipped a ball off of his knee against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Thu Sep 2 202119:33Ozzie Albies Remains Out On Thursday
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (knee) remains out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He was able to go through pregame workouts, but will sit out at least one more game. Ehire Adrianza is hitting eighth and covering second base versus righty Chi Chi Gonzalez on Thursday. Adrianza isn't in a favorable part of the order and doesn't offer enough upside to warrant using as a streaming choice on Thursday.

Wed Sep 1 202118:54Ozzie Albies Out Of Braves Lineup On Wednesday
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (knee) is not in the lineup on Wednesday for the finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 24-year-old exited Tuesday's 3-2 loss to LA after taking a foul tip off of his left knee. Since x-rays on the knee came back negative, it's fair to consider him day-to-day at this point. Ehire Adrianza will fill in at second base and bat eighth on Wednesday against Max Scherzer. Adrianza has faired well against right-handed pitching this season but has yet to face Scherzer over his career.
