OF Reymond Fuentes, who hit .238 in six starts in right field, was optioned to Triple-A Omaha. The Royals want Fuentes to continue to get at-bats with Omaha, thus deciding to keep speedy Terrance Gore as a spare outfielder and pinch runner. Gore does not have an at-bat this season with his only two appearances as a pinch runner.

OF Reymond Fuentes may be staying up with the World Series champion Royals. Fuentes has the inside track for a spare outfield spot after Jarrod Dyson pulled an oblique muscle in the first spring game, an injury that likely will force him to begin the season on the disabled list. Fuentes, a second cousin of former Royals OF Carlos Beltran, is hitting .389 with two double and a home run in 11 spring games. "He's definitely in the mix," Kansas City manager Ned Yost said.
Sat Apr 18 201517:46Fuentes optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday
Fuentes was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
The team wanted to add some infield depth after Alcides Escobar took a shot to the legs Friday night, so it send Fuentes packing and brought up Orlando Calixte. Escobar's injury does not appear to be serious, but Fuentes will be forced to stay down for at least 10 days unless the team places a player on the DL.
Fri Apr 17 201513:37Fuentes recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Friday
Fuentes was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Friday, FOX Sports KC's Joel Goldberg reports.
The Royals originally recalled Terrance Gore when Alex Rios (hand) was placed on the disabled list, but the team now wants to go in a different direction. Both guys offer more speed than power, but Fuentes has at least put up solid numbers in the minors, whereas Gore is purely a no-bat speedster. Fuentes will likely just be the Royals' fifth outfielder, as Jarrod Dyson and Paulo Orlando are expected to get most of the playing time in right field while Rios is out.
Thu Nov 20 201421:18Fuentes traded to Royals on Thursday
Fuentes was traded to the Royals on Thursday.
Fuentes split time between Double-A and Triple-A in 2014, hitting a combined .294/.363/.416 with five home runs, 33 RBI and 25 stolen bases between the two levels. The Royals will likely lose Norichika Aoki in the offseason, and Fuentes could be a candidate for a bench spot with the Royals in 2014 with a good spring training.
Sat Mar 15 201412:09Padres option Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A
Padres optioned OF Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A Tucson.
The 23-year-old outfielder had a chance to crack the Opening Day roster as a reserve outfielder with a strong spring, but hit just .095 (2-for-21) with five strikeouts. He should get a chance with the Padres at some point during the season.

Mon Aug 26 201318:55Reymond Fuentes called up from Triple-A
Padres purchased the contract of OF Reymond Fuentes from Triple-A Tucson.
Acquired from the Red Sox back in the winter of 2010 as part of the Adrian Gonzalez deal, Fuentes has had a breakout year this season, batting .330/.413/.448 with six homers and 35 steals between Double- and Triple-A. With Cameron Maybin no lock to return this season, the Padres' center field job could be Fuentes' through the end of next month. He's worth a look in deeper leagues if you need speed.
