Sat Aug 1012:12Davis Schneider, Alejandro Kirk Out On Saturday
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman/outfielder Davis Schneider and catcher Alejandro Kirk are out of the starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. Rookie Spencer Horwitz is starting at second base and batting cleanup, and rookie Addison Barger is in left field and in the eight-hole against A's right-hander Osvaldo Bido. Brian Serven is doing the catching and is batting ninth. Horwitz, who has handled himself nicely in 52 games in his second major-league season, is obviously the most attractive DFS option on Saturday over Barger and Serven. He hit his fifth home run of the year on Friday night and has hit a strong .282 (50-for-177) with a .793 OPS, 20 RBI and 24 runs scored in 2024. Barger, meanwhile, has struggled to the tune of a .189/.223/.322 slash line in the first 90 at-bats of his big-league career.

Tue Aug 617:15Davis Schneider Getting A Breather On Tuesday
Toronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Davis Schneider will retreat to the bench on Tuesday against the visiting division-rival Baltimore Orioles after starting each of the team's last four games. With Schneider riding pine, Leo Jimenez will start at second base and will bat ninth for Toronto against Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. The 25-year-old Schneider is hitting just .214/.304/.375 on the year in 299 at-bats, but he should play regularly down the stretch after the team traded away Isiah Kiner-Falefa at last week's deadline. In 99 games in his second year in the big leagues, Schneider has provided a modest 10 home runs, 37 RBI and four stolen bases. Jimenez has 14 hits in his first 64 major-league at-bats so far in 2024 and is still searching for his first home run.

Fri Jun 2816:29Davis Schneider Getting A Breather On Friday
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman/outfielder Davis Schneider is not in the team's starting lineup on Friday versus the visiting New York Yankees. Schneider has had an atrocious month at the plate in June, going 13-for-76 (.171) with three home runs, two doubles, six RBI, six walks and 22 strikeouts in 23 games to drop his season line to .220/.314/.419 with a .733 OPS. The 25-year-old utility man does have 10 home runs on the year but hasn't been of much help otherwise to fantasy managers. With Schneider getting a day to rest on Friday, rookie Spencer Horwitz will start at second base and bat second, while rookie Addison Barger will play left field and bat eighth against Yankees veteran right-hander Marcus Stroman. Horwitz has handled big-league pitching so far in his first 46 at-bats, collecting 16 hits (two homers) while driving in six and scoring nine runs.

Sat Jun 109:25Davis Schneider Hits Walk-Off Home Run Friday
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Davis Schneider had just one hit in six at-bats in Friday's 5-3 win over the Pirates, but it was a big one. The lone hit was a walk-off two-run home run in the 14th inning of Friday's contest. The blast was his seventh of the season and second in his last four games. Despite not hitting for average, the right-handed hitter is racking up the RBI with 12 in his last nine games after going 8-for-33 (.242). Schneider has been hitting leadoff which could produce solid run production as he's been getting on base via the walk (eight BB in last nine games), and he's got three steals on the season as well. Eligible at both 2B and OF, he could continue to be a solid source of power with his 14.2% Barrel%.

Wed May 2908:00Davis Schneider Picks Up Three Hits
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Davis Schneider went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and three RBI in Tuesday's victory versus the Chicago White Sox. Schneider has been having a good season for the Blue Jays and was recently rewarded by primarily leading off with outfielder George Springer in a season-long slump. For the season, Schneider has hit .255 with six homers, 27 RBI, 26 runs and three stolen bases. Schneider has been playing well enough to help managers in most formats. Schneider will look to continue his breakout season against Chris Flexen in Wednesday's series finale.

Mon May 2721:25Davis Schneider Smashes Sixth Home Run In Win Against White Sox
Toronto Blue Jays outfielderDavis Schneiderhad a two-run home run on Memorial Day to put the game out of reach for the White Sox as Toronto won 5-1. AfterGavin Sheetshit a solo shot in the eighth inning to cut the Blue Jays lead to two, Schneider answered in the top of the ninth with his sixth blast to left field, scoringGeorge Springer and sealed the deal for Chicago. After mainly going undrafted in fantasy leagues this spring, Schneider looks to hold value sitting at the top of an under-performing but always dangerous Blue Jays lineup. Hopefully, Monday's home run will be a sign of things to come. The 25-year-old should be added to watchlists everywhere. Schneider is currently rostered in only 21% of Yahoo leagues and less than six percent of ESPN leagues.

Sat May 1812:02Davis Schneider Hitting Leadoff Again
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Davis Schneider is starting at the keystone and hitting in the leadoff spot on Saturday against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Zach Eflin. This will be the fourth time in the last seven games that Schneider has hit in the top spot for the Jays, with normal leadoff hitter George Springer down in the six-hole. Between second base and a corner-outfield spot, Schneider has become a lineup regular for Toronto of late and is hitting .257 (9-for-35) with two homers, five RBI and two stolen bases in 11 games so far in May. Schneider has never faced Eflin in his career and is hitting .260/.370/.490 on the season with an .860 OPS, five long balls, 17 RBI and two steals in 100 at-bats. If Springer continues to struggle offensively, it looks like Schneider will benefit by hitting atop Toronto's batting order.

He has two homers and five RBI over his last seven games as he looks to stay hot for the Jays moving forward.
