Sat Sep 2812:51Bryce Miller Won't Make Another Start This Weekend
Seattle Mariners interim manager Dan Wilson said that right-hander Emerson Hancock will be called up from the minors to start Saturday's contest at T-Mobile Park against the division-rival Oakland Athletics, and right-hander Logan Gilbert will take the ball for the season finale on Sunday. The rotation decisions for the team's final two games of the season -- they were eliminated from postseason contention on Friday -- mean that right-hander Bryce Miller won't make another start in 2024. The 26-year-old had a breakout campaign in his second year in the big leagues, going 12-8 with a shiny 2.94 ERA (3.58 FIP), a 0.98 WHIP, 171 strikeouts and 45 walks in 31 starts (180 1/3 innings). He'll cost a pretty penny in fantasy drafts next spring. Hancock, on the other hand, has been very inconsistent and is sporting a 4.72 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with only 36 K's in 55 1/3 frames.

Tue Sep 2400:07Bryce Miller Fires Seven Scoreless Innings Monday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller continued his dominant second half in Monday's 6-1 win over the Astros. Miller pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. The 26-year-old now has a stellar 2.94 ERA through 31 starts and 180 1/3 IP this season. This has been fueled by his 12 second-half starts, which have resulted in a 5-1 record with a 1.89 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 71 1/3 IP. He is slated to start the final game of the season against the Athletics, so fantasy managers should hopefully have one more opportunity for him to provide them with excellent results as the Mariners push for a playoff spot.

Tue Aug 2700:42Bryce Miller Fans 10 In Dominant Win Monday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller continued his stellar season in Monday's 5-1 win over the Rays. Miller pitched seven innings, allowing a single run on two hits (including a solo home run) and no walks while tying his season-high strikeout mark with 10. The 26-year-old has made encouraging strides in his sophomore season and is now 10-7 with a 3.23 ERA, an 8.54 K/9 rate, and a 1.97 BB/9 rate in 26 starts and 150 2/3 IP. He will draw another favorable matchup in his next start at the Angels, who have struck out more than any other team over the last 15 days.

Thu Aug 1518:38Bryce Miller Throws Gem But Picks Up No-Decision
Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller deserved much more than a no-decision on Thursday in an eventual 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Miller dazzled by throwing seven shutout innings while giving up only two hits, walking none and striking out nine to drop his season ERA to 3.29. It continues to theme of the Mariners getting excellent outings from their starting pitchers, but with little run support from the offense. The 25-year-old Miller hasn't given up a run in his last two starts, spanning 13 innings, while striking out 15 and giving up only five hits. He's now 9-7 in 2024 with a 3.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 128 strikeouts and only 31 walks in 139 2/3 innings pitched over 24 starts. Even in what sets up as a difficult matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers next time out, Miller will be hard to keep out of fantasy lineups.

Thu Jun 1301:05Bryce Miller Dominates White Sox Wednesday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller dominated the visiting Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, fanning eight over seven two-hit innings for a no-decision. The M's may not have provided enough run support for their starter to grab the win in Wednesday's walk-off triumph, but that doesn't change how good Miller was in this one. The 25-year-old former top prospect will bring a rock-solid 3.48 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 80 strikeouts and 24 walks over 82 2/3 innings for Seattle into his next slated appearance against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field on Monday. Miller has the potential to develop into a higher-end fantasy asset over time, but he needs to keep the hard contact down more consistently to reach the next level.

Tue Apr 3011:49Bryce Miller Racks Up 10 Strikeouts Monday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller had himself a day on Monday in a 2-1 win against the Atlanta Braves. Miller went seven innings while striking out 10 batters, walking one, and allowing one earned run. He is 3-2 on the season, pitching 35 innings with a 2.04 ERA while allowing 19 hits, nine runs, five homers, 12 walks, and 39 strikeouts in six starts. The 25-year-old has a 9.93 K/9 and a 3.06 BB/9, backing his success this year on the mound. His next projected start is against Houston, and the way he is pitching, fantasy managers should have him starting no matter who the opponent is.

Thu Apr 1800:42Bryce Miller Dazzles Against Reds
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller shut down the Cincinnati Reds while tallying a win in Wednesday's 5-1 victory, tossing six innings of one-run ball on one hit with seven strikeouts. Reds star Elly De La Cruz may have taken Miller deep in the second inning, but the hurler was perfect for his other five frames otherwise. Following the 25-year-old former top prospect's brilliant day on the mound, he sports a shiny 1.85 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 24:7 K:BB over 24 1/3 frames (four starts). Miller's next start lines up for next Wednesday on the road against the defending-champion Texas Rangers, who torched him for 13 runs in seven innings last season. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues will have a difficult decision to make for that one, but Miller might be throwing too well to sit right now.
