One of the teams is the Rays, who we've known has had interest in the right-hander for a few weeks now. Delcarmen is coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons, but he would make for a nice reclamation project for someone. According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, the Rockies are expected to non-tender Manny Delcarmen. |
Delcarmen posted a 6.48 ERA over nine appearances after coming over from the Red Sox in August. It was worth bringing him aboard just to see if he could benefit from the change in scenery, but it would be hard to justify paying him more than $1 million next season. He'll have no problem finding a new team, though. |
