Sun Jul 6 201423:22Gonzalez drives in three runs in win over Rox
Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with three RBI in a win over the Rockies on Sunday.
Gonzalez' line on the whole isn't very impressive, but he delivered a bases-loaded single in the fifth that plated two and drove in another run with a groundout in the eighth. For having a relatively down year, the first baseman is still fourth in the NL with 56 RBI. Gonzalez will look to improve upon his .254/.319/.438 line in the season's second half.

Sun Jul 6 201420:33Josh Beckett tweaks hip while running bases
Josh Beckett was pulled from Sunday's start against the Rockies after five innings after tweaking his hip while running the bases.
Beckett had twirled five shutout innings, allowing just three hits and three walks before being removed. It doesn't sound like the injury is serious, but fantasy owners should continue to monitor the situation before inserting him into weekly lineups.

Wed Jul 2 201401:39SP Josh Beckett lasts only 5 IP in loss
Josh Beckett was bombed for five runs on six hits over five innings in a loss against the Indians on Tuesday.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly confirmed Monday that Beckett has been dealing with minor hip soreness recently, and we might have seen a manifestation of that discomfort this evening. He came into tonight red-hot, as Beckett had gone 3-3 with a 1.34 ERA in seven starts since his no-hitter at Philadelphia on May 25, declining to allow any earned runs in four of those outings. Assuming he doesn't need a trip to the disabled list, Beckett (5-5, 2.46 ERA) travels to Colorado on Sunday. He's probably not worth the risk in standard daily mixed leagues.

Mon Jun 30 201419:32Josh Beckett has minor hip injury
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Monday that Josh Beckett had a little something" with his hip, but it won't affect his status for Tuesday's start.
It's something to note, but it doesn't appear to be a big deal at this point. Beckett missed the first week of the season due to thumb and ankle ailments but has managed to stay healthy since, posting a 2.11 ERA over 15 starts.

Fri Jun 27 201400:46SP Beckett up to 14 straight shutout innings
Josh Beckett fired seven shutout innings, scattering four hits, in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Thursday.
Beckett punched out four and walked two to neutralize Adam Wainwright in a fierce 1-0 Dodgers' victory. He's on a quite a roll, having hurled 14 straight shutout innings and allowed just runs runs over his past 29 innings pitched. The veteran right-hander entered 3-3 with a 1.58 ERA over his last six outings. Now boasting a shocking 6-2 record and 2.11 ERA, Beckett toes the rubber against the Indians next week.

Josh Beckett blanked the Padres for seven innings, striking out eight, in a win Saturday.
Beckett allowed just four hits tonight, and he moved to 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA in nine career starts against the Padres. Things will start to get a bit more difficult now, as he'll face the Cardinals and Indians in his next couple of starts.

Sun Jun 15 201421:13Beckett gives up four runs in loss to D'backs
Josh Beckett allowed four runs -- three earned -- over seven innings in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Beckett allowed one run on a wild pitch and while both runs in the sixth were earned, they came as a result of a Dee Gordon fielding error. The other run came the conventional way, via a Paul Goldschmidt homer. Even with the loss, Beckett owns a 2.49 ERA and 1.03 WHIP through 13 starts. He'll square off with the Padres in San Diego on Saturday.

Wed Jun 11 201400:06Beckett delivers six scoreless vs. Cincinnati
Josh Beckett tossed six scoreless innings on Tuesday night against Reds.
Beckett probably could have gone an inning longer, but there was a lengthy rain delay before the game and he threw 128 pitches in his late-May no-hitter. The veteran right-hander now owns a fantastic 2.35 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 72 2/3 innings this season. In 2007, when he finished second in the American League Cy Young Award voting, he had a 3.27 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 194 strikeouts in 200 2/3 innings. Beckett should keep rolling next time out against the Diamondbacks.

Thu Jun 5 201401:19Beckett allows pair of homers in loss to CHW
Josh Beckett dropped to 3-3, allowing two runs in six innings as the Dodgers fell to the White Sox 2-1 on Wednesday.
Beckett followed May 25th's 128-pitch no-hitter against the Phillies by allowing two runs and five hits over five innings versus the Pirates on Friday, an 88-pitch outing. This time he was back up to 99 pitches. Beckett struck out six and was mostly in control. Unfortunately, he coughed up solo homers to Leury Garcia and Adam Dunn, and that was enough to lose this evening pitching across from an on-his-game John Danks. The veteran right-hander falls to 3-3 with a 2.57 ERA. Beckett travels to Cincinnati next week.

Sat May 31 201401:56Josh Beckett gives up two runs in loss
Josh Beckett followed up his no-hitter by allowing two runs over five innings in a loss to the Pirates on Friday.
Beckett was used on four days' rest tonight despite throwing a career-high 128 pitches on Sunday, which might have had something to do with his early exit after 88 pitches. Then again, his spot was due up with a man on base down 2-0 the bottom of the fifth, so he probably should have been taken out regardless. In spite of the loss, it was a perfectly solid outing for Beckett.

Sun May 25 201416:19Beckett fires no-hitter in win over Phillies
Josh Beckett fired a no-hitter against the Phillies on Sunday, striking out six in the Dodgers' 6-0 victory.
Despite his longtime dominance, the feat was the first in Beckett's career. Beckett walked three, including Jimmy Rollins on a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the ninth inning, but froze Chase Utley for strike three to complete the 128-pitch masterpiece. The historic start was just the latest in what's been a strong season for the 34-year-old, as he lowered his ERA and WHIP to 2.43 and 1.02, respectively. His next start will come Friday at the Pirates.

Tue May 20 201423:44Beckett shaky but picks up second win vs. NYM
Josh Beckett improved to 2-1, allowing four runs in five innings as the Dodgers defeated the Mets 9-4 on Tuesday.
Beckett wasn't particularly effective, allowing eight hits -- including home runs to Curtis Granderson and Lucas Duda -- while walking two and striking out six. But he was better than Rafael Montero, which was all he needed to pick up his second win of the season. Beckett will take his 2.89 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 46/17 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Phillies on the road.

Wed May 14 201401:34Beckett beats Marlins for first 2014 victory
Josh Beckett allowed merely an unearned run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings to earn his first win of the season Tuesday versus the Marlins.
Beckett struck out six and walked three in the date with his former club. Beckett has to be taken seriously by mixed league owners at this point. He's been dynamite since returning from the disabled list, going 1-1 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in seven starts. Beckett squares off with the Phillies this weekend.

Sat Apr 26 201402:24Josh Beckett goes eight strong
Josh Beckett pitched eight innings and allowed just two runs Friday in a no-decision against the Rockies.
Beckett was terrific tonight aside from a couple of mistakes in the second; Troy Tulowitzki and Corey Dickerson took him deep in that frame. He allowed just two other hits, and he finished with a 6/0 K/BB ratio. Overall, he has a 2.45 ERA and a 22/8 K/BB ratio in 22 innings for the season. It's almost enough to make him worthy of a mixed-league pickup, but we'd wait and see how he fares in Minnesota next week first.

Sun Apr 20 201420:22Beckett allows one hit over five scoreless
Josh Beckett allowed one hit over five scoreless innings but took a no-decision in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Beckett struck out seven hitters, walking two while allowing just one single on the afternoon. After a poor start against the Tigers his first time out, Beckett has now allowed three hits, a 1.00 WHIP and 11 strikeouts over 10 shutout innings in his last two starts. Beckett will continue to search for his first win since September 30, 2012, when he faces the Rockies on Friday.

Wed Apr 16 201403:18Beckett walks 5 but still works 5 shutout in.
Josh Beckett tossed five shutout innings despite walking five batters in Tuesday's no-decision against the Giants.
While the veteran missed bats -- giving up just two hits -- he was extremely fortunate to dance around all those free passes. That being said, this was an encouraging outing after the Texan was thoroughly unimpressive in his 2014 debut against the Tigers last time out. He has surrendered four earned runs over nine frames in two starts. Beckett will take a 4.00 ERA and 1.44 WHIP into a date with the struggling Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Thu Apr 10 201402:29Beckett's return from disabled list is shaky
In an uneven return from the disabled list, Josh Beckett surrendered five runs -- four earned -- on five hits over four innings in a no-decision loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.
Injuries to his thumb and ankle forced Beckett to miss his first start. Los Angeles didn't anticipate getting him back so soon, but accelerated the timeline due to Clayton Kershaw's injury. A lowered pitch count was expected, and Beckett was yanked after 85 unimpressive offerings. He'll try for better next week in San Francisco.

Wed Apr 9 201419:19Dodgers activate Beckett, tab him for start
Dodgers activated RHP Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list.
Beckett's thumb and ankle forced him to miss the start of the season, but he got through fielding drills on Tuesday and was cleared to return. He was brought back quickly due to the injury to Clayton Kershaw, so the right-hander may still be working on building up his pitch count, but the Dodgers will roll with him for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Tue Apr 8 201418:54Beckett (thumb. ankle) works out Tuesday
Josh Beckett (thumb, ankle) said he felt fine while going through fielding drills Tuesday.
It was the last step before the Dodgers decided whether Beckett would be activated to start on Wednesday versus the Tigers. A decision has yet to officially be made, but he'll presumably be cleared for the outing. It would be his first in the majors since last May.
