Sat Mar 26 201101:36D'Backs' Enright gives up six runs
Barry Enright was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings by the White Sox on Friday.
Brent Lillibridge and Adam Dunn hmoered off him as part of a three-run first inning. Enright had already earned his rotation spot by posting a 2.65 ERA in his first four starts this spring. He's not recommended in NL-only leagues, though.

Tue Mar 22 201109:05Enright earns spot in D'Backs rotation
Barry Enright has earned a spot in the Diamondbacks' starting rotation.
That likely means Armando Galarraga will be the odd man out. Enright, 24, delivered a 2.65 ERA and 1.00 WHIP this spring across 17 Cactus League innings, fanning 10 batters and walking only four. The former second-round pick posted some decent strikeout rates in the minor leagues and may be someone worth tracking this season for mixed league fantasy purposes.

Sun Mar 20 201117:58Enright has nice day against Oakland
Barry Enright gave up four hits and two runs in five innings against the A's on Sunday.
He struck out four while walking two. It was his third straight solid outing, and fourth out of five this spring, likely giving him a leg up on Armando Galarraga for the final spot in Arizona's rotation.

Wed Mar 16 201100:42D'Backs' Enright solid in no-decision
Barry Enright outpitched Armando Galarraga for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing one run in three innings.
Galarraga struck out five in his three innings, but he also gave up three runs. It looked like the two were competing with Aaron Heilman for one spot in Arizona's rotation, but there's now two jobs open with Zach Duke set to start off on the DL. Enright looks like the favorite for one with his 2.25 ERA this spring. Galarraga is at 8.18.

Sat Mar 5 201118:04Enright surrenders a pair of longballs
Barry Enright surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings against the Rangers Saturday.
He was undone by solo home runs from Ian Kinsler and Mitch Moreland. Enright didn't walk anyone and recorded one strikeout. The man he's competing against for a rotation spot, Armando Galarraga, tossed three shutout relief innings after Enright exited.

Thu Sep 30 201018:58D'Backs' Enright gives up three homers
Barry Enright gave up four runs and three homers in five-plus innings Thursday in a loss to the Giants.
Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey and Andres Torres all took him deep. Enright ended up allowing 12 homers in his final five starts, all of which were losses. Look for that to be a sign of things to come. He'll be in Arizona's rotation next year after going 6-7 with a 3.91 ERA, but we're not expecting much.
Sat Sep 25 201000:22D'Backs' Enright takes tough loss
Barry Enright pitched eight innings of two-run ball, but still took a loss Friday night against the Dodgers.
Enright was coming off three losses in which he pitched a total of 12 2/3 innings, but he was sharp tonight, getting 24 outs while throwing just 93 pitches. His ERA, which jumped from 2.45 to 3.87 during the losing streak, came back down to 3.73 tonight.
Sun Sep 19 201015:21Enright will not be shut down
D-backs interim manager Kirk Gibson said that Barry Enright will not be shut down this season.
Enright has thrown 179 2/3 innings this season between the majors and minors after a previous career high of 164 two years ago. He's also struggled in his last three starts, blaming it partly on fatigue, but the D-backs will let him make two more starts. "We've got to find a way to get him through it," Gibson said. "He'll be better because of it." Enright is not a recommended play for his final two outings.

Sat Sep 18 201022:59Enright allows six earned in loss to Pirates
Barry Enright surrendered six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings Saturday as the Diamondbacks fell to the Pirates.
Enright has allowed 17 total earned runs in his last three starts and should no longer be near a fantasy roster. The righty walked three, struck out just one and watched as his ERA rose from 3.39 to 3.87. Our guess is that it will continue to rise next week against the Dodgers.
Mon Sep 13 201022:46Enright knocked around Monday
Barry Enright yielded five runs over just three innings in Monday's loss to the Reds.
He gave up seven hits, walked one, struck out no one and served up four home runs. It appears the clock has struck midnight and Enright has finally turned into a pumpkin, as he's given up 11 runs and seven home runs over his last two starts. Before that he hadn't allowed more than three runs in any of his 12 starts. Enright's ERA still sits at an impressive 3.39, but he's not a recommended play down the stretch. He'll face the Pirates this weekend.
Wed Sep 8 201001:11D'Backs' Enright allows six runs in loss
Barry Enright was tagged for six runs and three homers in six innings by the Giants on Tuesday.
Aubrey Huff, Freddy Sanchez and Pat Burrell all took Enright deep as the young right-hander lost for the first time since July 11. He also gave up four doubles. Enright has pretty much secured a rotation spot headed into 2011, but he still has plenty left to prove as he begins to face teams for the second time.
Wed Sep 1 201020:56Enright earns sixth win, D'Backs beat Padres
Barry Enright limited the Padres to two earned runs over seven innings Wednesday, helping his Diamondbacks to a 5-2 victory.
Enright again put on an impressive show, issuing zero walks and striking out two while looking confident in damage control. He's now 6-2 on the season with a 2.45 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. In most leagues he'll be gone, but it's worth checking out the waiver wire anyway. He gets the Giants next.
Sat Aug 28 201003:10D'Backs' Enright combines on shutout
Barry Enright combined with two relievers on a shutout of the Giants on Friday night.
Enright scattered six hits over seven scoreless innings in earning his fifth victory. He's made 11 big-league starts now and still hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of them. The league will catch up to him, but he's likely already close to being penciled into the Diamondbacks' 2011 rotation.
Sat Aug 21 201023:11Enright holds Rox to three hits, D'Backs win
Barry Enright held the Rockies to one earned run over 6 2/3 innings Saturday, lifting his Diamondbacks to a 3-1 victory.
Enright surrendered only three hits and struck out four batters. He's been more than solid since the Diamondbacks added him to their starting rotation in late June and now boasts a 4-2 record, 2.73 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over his first 10 major league starts. The righty will be a sleeper heading into 2011.
Sun Aug 15 201017:04Enright only goes five in no-decision
Barry Enright allowed three runs over five innings in the D-backs' loss to the Nationals Sunday.
The right-hander gave up six hits, walked one and struck out one. Enright doesn't miss bats and he isn't a groundball pitcher, but he's managed to keep the Diamondbacks in the game in all nine of his starts thus far. He boasts a 2.91 ERA on the year. The right-hander will face the Rockies at home the next time out.
Fri Aug 6 201001:16D'Backs' Enright earnes third victory
Barry Enright won Thursday by holding the Nationals to two runs over six innings.
Adam Kennedy and Ryan Zimmerman homered off him, but the other four hits and two walks counted for nothing. Enright is 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA through seven starts. He's had just one dominant performance, that coming against a Mets team that wasn't scoring against anyone last month. He has, however, kept the Diamondbacks in the game every time out so far.
Sat Jul 31 201022:36Enright solid in no-decision versus Mets
Barry Enright surrendered just two runs over six innings but received a no-decision in the D-backs' loss to the Mets Saturday.
Enright gave up four hits and walked three while striking out a pair. The 24-year-old right-hander has pitched very effectively since arriving on the scene at the end of June, as he boasts a 2.78 ERA and 1.26 WHIP after six starts. He's been particularly effective against the Mets, giving up just three runs over 14 innings. Enright will face the Nats his next time out.
Wed Jul 21 201001:43D'Backs' Enright goes eight innings for win
Barry Enright limited the Mets to one run in eight innings to pick a victory on Tuesday night.
Enright hadn't pitched more than 5 2/3 innings or struck out more than five through three major league starts, but then, he hadn't faced the suddenly punchless Mets. He'll be a decent play in NL-only leagues again this weekend with the Giants on the schedule.
Sun Jul 11 201019:31Enright tough-luck loser for Diamondbacks
Barry Enright held the Marlins to two runs in five innings on Sunday but still took a loss in a 2-0 affair.
Enright struck out three and allowed just five baserunners in the outing, but three of those baserunners came in the fourth when the Marlins scored both runs. Enright has acquitted himself nicely in three starts with a 3.45 ERA, so he'll likely remain with the big club after the All-Star break. He's at best a spot-starter in NL-only formats, however.
Wed Jun 30 201018:13D'Backs' Enright earns win in debut
Barry Enright picked up a win in his major league debut after allowing one run over five innings Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Amazingly enough, the Diamondbacks bullpen held on after Enright left with a 3-1 lead. Juan Gutierrez surrendered a run in the seventh and Aaron Heilman got into trouble in the ninth, but Arizona won 4-2. Enright allowed four hits, walked four and struck out five. He probably earned himself another start, but he's a long shot to be of use in NL-only leagues.
