Recker will start Thursday's game with Bartolo Colon on the mound for the Mets, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Colon has fared better with Recker behind the plate instead of Kevin Plawecki, so manager Terry Collins will give Recker a start Thursday in hopes of getting Colon back on track after a disastrous last outing. Recker has played sparingly this season, but he has struggled at the plate, going just 7-for-51 (.137) with two extra-base hits -- two home runs that came in the same game in May.

After catching all 18 innings on Sunday, Kevin Plawecki gets the night off in favor of the recently called-up Recker. Recker is hitting .143 in 19 games with the Mets this season.

Recker will replace Kevin Plawecki in the lineup Tuesday against San Francisco, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.

Recker smashed his first two homers of the year Thursday -- both solo shots off Cubs starter Travis Wood.
The homers came in Recker's first two at-bats; he struck out in his next two before being pulled in a double switch. This is the first hint of offensive production Recker's provided this season, but he does have the power to hit a ball over the fence here and there. Worth noting, at least to some degree, is that all five of his hits on the season have come in his last five games.
Sun May 10 201511:22Recker starting at catcher Sunday against Phillies
Recker is starting at catcher Sunday against the Phillies.
Kevin Plawecki is being given off on a day game after a night one, resulting in Recker starting. The fact that Recker is starting is a good indication he is still the back up catcher, as manager Terry Collins could have elected to start Johnny Monell, a lefty hitter, against righty Chad Billingsley.

Recker has a bone spur in the back of his right elbow but will play through the injury, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
With Travis d'Arnaud out, Recker is backing up Kevin Plawecki. Recker could opt to have the surgery before year-end, which is currently plan. If Recker decides to go that route, would mean that Plawecki or Johnny Monell would back up d'Arnaud when he comes off the disabled list.
Wed Apr 22 201516:47Recker suffering from swelling in right elbow
Recker is suffering from swelling in his right elbow, Mike Vorkunov of The Star-Ledger reports.
Recker reportedly war a sleeve following Tuesday's game, likely an indication of the elbow issue. It's unclear exactly what he's dealing with at this point, but with Travis d'Arnaud already on the shelf, the Mets may have to reach further into the organizational depths than they hoped if Recker's injury turns out to be serious. However, he should be considered day-to-day for now until more information on the situation becomes available.
Sun Apr 12 201508:32Recker starting Sunday
Recker is starting Sunday, giving Travis d'Arnaud a rare day off, the NY Post reports.
Recker's playing time is likely to be minimal, especially if d'Arnaud hits like many expect he will. D'Arnaud has already driven in five runs, thanks to his hot start, and should be back in the lineup Monday.
Sat Mar 7 201516:57Recker dealing with right wrist soreness
Recker is dealing with right wrist soreness, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Recker was held out of Saturday's Grapefruit League game as a result, but he was still able to take hacks in the batting cage, indicating the injury isn't anything that's especially worrisome. He should still be viewed as the favorite to open the season as the backup catcher to Travis d'Arnaud.
Sun Sep 28 201410:29Recker out of lineup Friday against Astros
Recker is out of the lineup Friday against the Astros.
With Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) out, Recker could probably have taken more than three of the remaining five starts at catcher, but the Mets might just be giving the 24-year-old Juan Centeno more audition time to be the back-up catcher of the future.

Recker went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a couple of runs scored in Sunday's 10-2 rout of the Braves.
Though Recker's opportunities to get in the lineup are limited, he has made the most of them over the past few weeks. Dating back to August 31, the Mets' backup backstop has gone 8-for-18 with three homers and nine RBI.

Recker replaced an injured Travis d'Arnaud and went 2-for-3 with his seventh home run of the year in the Mets' 6-2 loss to the Nationals on Thursday.
Recker had a chance to be the hero, but struck out against Tyler Clippard with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning and the Mets down four runs. If d'Arnaud's wrist keeps him sidelined. Recker will see most of the action behind the plate, backed up by Juan Centeno.

Travid d'Arnaud has been a staple in the Mets' lineup since coming back from Triple-A Las Vegas, relegating Recker to spot-start duty. Recker does have four home runs and 17 runs batted in over 139 at-bats, albeit with a .187 batting average.

Sun May 25 201420:14Anthony Recker has four hits to lead Mets
Anthony Recker had a big day at the plate in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks, going 4-for-4 with a double.
The veteran backstop was also caught stealing in the ballgame. He has done a nice job filling in for the injured Travis d'Arnaud, but his run of usefulness in NL-only leagues will run out once d'Arnaud returns later this week.

Anthony Recker went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
In for Travis d'Arnaud, Recker made the most of his spot start. He took Brandon McCarthy deep for a solo home run to start the scoring, and he later added a double off the right-hander. He's got two homers and four RBI through 14 at-bats to start the year.
