Sun Apr 13 201401:48Anthony Recker homers to lead Mets
Anthony Recker homered off Matt Shoemaker in the top of the 13th to power the Mets past the Angels on Saturday.
Recker also had a big two-run single in the seventh that gave the Mets a 4-3 lead. It was 6-3 in the top of the ninth, when Jose Valverde gave up a game-tying three-run homer. The Mets, though, persevered and came through in the end, thanks mostly to the bottom of their lineup; Lucas Duda, Juan Lagares, Recker and Omar Quintanilla had nine of their 11 hits and all seven of their RBI from the 6th-through-9th slots.

Thu Jul 4 201319:04Recker hits game-tying homer vs. D-Backs
Anthony Recker launched a solo homer in an extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
His solo blast off Heath Bell tied the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. The Diamondbacks took the lead in the next half-inning, but the Mets battled back in the bottom of the 14th inning, this time on a solo homer from Kirk Nieuwenhuis. The Diamondbacks eventually went on to win the game in the 15th inning. It was a wild one. Recker has shown some pop in a small sample this season, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him start to get some more playing time over the struggling John Buck.
