Wed Sep 8 202110:40Adam Duvall Launches 32nd Homer
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall has found new life with the bat since the trade deadline. Duvall has been hitting much better since being acquired by Atlanta. On Tuesday, he went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in the first inning off the Washington Nationals. This game was certainly a battle, but that three-run blast help Atlanta get the 8-5 win. That marked Duvall's 32nd home run on the campaign. He is hitting .228, but does offer plenty of power upside down the stretch of the season.

Fri Sep 3 202100:36Adam Duvall Crushes Go-Ahead Homer
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall played the hero during Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Braves the lead. Atlanta would hold on 6-5 and secure the win over the Colorado Rockies. That blast marked Duvall's 30th home run of the season, which is only three homers shy of his career high. He certainly has enough time to surpass that number. Fantasy managers in need of a power bat should take a look at Duvall down the stretch.

Thu Aug 19 202111:41Adam Duvall Walks Three Times On Wednesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall is not normally known for his discipline at the plate. Although, he certainly showed he is capable of drawing a few walks during Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Duvall went 1-for-2 with three RBI and three walks in the 11-9 victory. It was an odd stat line for Duvall who had a double as his lone hit in the game. He is normally in the lineup for his power, but the Braves will take games like this as well. Despite the nice three-walk game, fantasy managers should continue to view him as an all-or-nothing power hitter.

Sat Aug 14 202122:24Adam Duvall Blasts Homer Off Nationals
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall joined in on the home run parade against the Washington Nationals on Saturday. He went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in the ninth inning to help cap off the 12-2 blowout victory. This blast was Duvall's 26th of the season as he has proven to be a nice power bat for Atlanta. However, Duvall doesn't offer much upside in fantasy formats outside of his power. Fantasy managers in need of a boost in power should look at Duvall, but he doesn't offer much else.

Mon Aug 9 202111:16Adam Duvall Blasts Two-Run Shot
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall brought his power bat with him for Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. He went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run off lefty Patrick Corbin in the sixth inning. His 24th home run of the season helped the Braves get a 5-4 victory over Washington. The 32-year-old slugger has solid power, but doesn't offer much fantasy value outside of that. He'll be a decent streaming option in standard formats and someone worth snagging in deep leagues.

Sat Aug 7 202100:34Adam Duvall Drives In Three Runs Friday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall appears to be getting into a groove at the plate with his new team. On Friday, Duvall went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI, and a walk in the 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals. That two-hit performance will push Duvall's average to nearly .230 on the season. He has 23 home runs and 71 RBI this season and could certainly help some fantasy managers. Everyone knows Duvall won't hit for batting average, but at least he continues to be a reliable run producing option.

Thu Aug 5 202112:10Adam Duvall Hits Go-Ahead Homer
Atlanta Braves outfielder Adam Duvall was the hero during Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He went 1-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run home run in the sixth inning off righty Ryan Helsley. Duvall also drew a walk in the game, but the homer was the difference maker on Wednesday. He is now slashing .231/.280/.483 with 22 long balls and 65 RBI. Fantasy managers in need of a power bat should look Duvall's way, but they should know that a low batting average comes with that.

Max Scherzer and Trea Turner wearing Dodger blue, Kris Bryant heading to the Golden Gate. Javier Báez joining the Mets, Craig Kimbrel crossing town to the White Sox, José Berríos moving north of the border. Now this truly was an All-Star trade deadline day. After a run-up that saw the likes of Nelson Cruz, Anthony Rizzo, Joey Gallo and Adam Frazier swapped, even more big names changed teams during a whirlwind Friday. From contenders boosting their roster to the also-ran Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals gutting theirs, this was a monster day for moves. “They all feel busy, but today was nonstop,” said Cleveland president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti, who made three trades. “We executed a number of trades but there were probably at least another dozen other ones that we contemplated seriously at different points in time and exchanged different ideas,” he said. Several playoff chasers pursued arms, with Toronto landing Berríos, Philadelphia getting Kyle Gibson and Ian Kennedy,... [More]

Fri Jul 30 202118:35Braves reload for chase in mediocre NL East with 4 trades
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves’ flurry of trade-deadline moves on Friday highlighted how fortunate they are to be in the NL East, where any team close to .500 is still relevant. Though the Braves entered the day one game under .500, they were only four games behind the first-place New York Mets. Emboldened by the standings, general manager Alex Anthopoulos acquired outfielders Adam Duvall, Jorge Soler and Eddie Rosario and reliever Richard Rodriguez in an attempt to position Atlanta for a run at its fourth consecutive division title. The moves were notable for a team that has not been above .500 all season. “There’s no doubt we’ve had our challenges,” Anthopoulos said. “The one thing that’s fortunate for us is we’re playing in the NL East in 2021. We’re all in it.” The Mets, second-place Phillies and Braves are still in the race. The Nationals and Marlins bowed out, moving veterans for prospects at the trade deadline. “From our standpoint, when talent leaves the NL East, we’re certainly... [More]
Fri Jul 30 202118:25Busy at deadline, Indians trade OF Eddie Rosario to Braves
CLEVELAND (AP) — Eddie Rosario had moments for the Indians. Not nearly enough of them. Reshuffling its roster with an eye toward the future with several deals before the trading deadline Friday, Cleveland traded Rosario to the Atlanta Braves, who needed another quality hitter to make a run for the NL East. The Indians got veteran infielder Pablo Sandoval, and immediately released the 2012 Wold Series MVP. It was Cleveland's second significant trade in two days. On Thursday, the Indians essentially signaled surrender in the AL Central by dealing second baseman Cesar Hernandez to the first-place White Sox for a minor league pitcher. The Indians made two other smaller deals on Friday. Rosario signed a one-year, $8 million free agent contract this winter with the Indians. They were hoping the outfielder would hit for them the way he did with the Minnesota Twins, but Rosario was injured and never got rolling. The 29-year-old Rosario has been on the injured list since July 6 with an oblique strain,... [More]
Fri Jul 30 202114:25Indians trade OF Rosario to Braves for Sandoval
CLEVELAND (AP) — With the NL East still up for grabs, the Atlanta Braves needed another quality hitter for the season's second half. The Indians had one to offer. Cleveland made its second significant trade in two days, sending outfielder Eddie Rosario to the Braves for infielder Pablo Sandoval on Friday. Rosario signed a one-year, $8 million free agent contract this winter with the Indians, who essentially signaled surrender in the AL Central on Thursday by dealing second baseman Cesar Hernandez to the first-place White Sox for a minor league pitcher. The Braves will pay a portion of Rosario's contract, easing the financial burden on the Indians, who have been ravaged by injuries and are quickly fading from the playoff chase. Atlanta's been in the market to bolster its lineup since losing its best player when All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. suffered a season-ending knee injury while trying to make a leaping catch earlier this month. The Braves also acquired outfielder Adam Duvall... [More]
Fri Jul 30 202114:25Braves bolster outfield by re-acquiring Duvall from Marlins
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves bolstered their depleted outfield on Friday by acquiring Adam Duvall from the Miami Marlins for catcher Alex Jackson. The 32-year-old Duvall is returning to Atlanta, where he played the last three seasons. He hit .229 and ranks among the top 10 in the National League with 22 home runs and 68 RBIs in 90 games for Miami this season. The Braves also acquired outfielder Eddie Rosario and cash from Cleveland for infielder Pablo Sandoval on Friday. On July 15, Atlanta landed outfielder Joc Pederson in a trade that sent first baseman Bryce Ball to the Chicago Cubs. The Braves needed to revamp their outfield as they attempt to remain in the hunt for a fourth consecutive NL East title. Atlanta suffered a severe blow to its playoff hopes when it lost Ronald Acuña Jr. to a season-ending knee injury on July 10. Braves left fielder Marcell Ozuna, who was on the injured list, is facing domestic violence charges following an arrest at his home in May. He has not played since. The Braves first acquired Duvall at the 2018 trade deadline. He was an All-Star with the Reds in 2016, when he set career highs with 33 homers and 103 RBIs. Jackson, 25, has three hits in 43 at-bats (.070) in 19 games with Atlanta the last three seasons. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Fri Jul 30 202113:20Adam Duvall Traded To Braves
Miami Marlins outfielder Adam Duvall was traded to the Atlanta Braves on Friday in exchange for catcher Alex Jackson, the Braves announced on Twitter. Duvall had spent the previous two and a half seasons playing for the Braves before landing with Miami this season, where he is slashing .229/.277/.478 with 22 homers, five steals, 68 RBI and 41 runs scored over 90 games. Meanwhile Jackson has only played in 10 games with Atlanta this year, and is 1-for-23 with two runs scored and a 13:2 K:BB ratio. Jackson is worth consideration in dynasty formats, while Duvall should continue to be one of the better power-hitting outfielders in fantasy.

The Red Sox maintained their one-game AL East lead over Tampa Bay and increased their lead to nine games over the third-place Yankees. Yacksel Rios (3-0) got the victory, pitching two scoreless innings to cap a strong night from the bullpen after starter Eduardo Rodriguez left in the second inning after experiencing migraine symptoms. ATLANTA (AP) — Freddie Freeman homered off Yu Darvish in the sixth inning, Touki Toussaint allowed one run and three hits in his season debut, and the Atlanta Braves beat the San Diego Padres 2-1 on Tuesday night. Toussaint, who missed the first 3½ months rehabbing a right shoulder strain, retired the first seven batters he faced before walking Victor Caratini in the third. He didn’t allow a hit until Manny Machado doubled with one out in the fourth. The Padres tied it 1-all in the fourth when Jake Cronenworth was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on Machado’s double and scored on Tommy Pham’s sacrifice fly. Freeman made it 2-1 by taking Darvish deep over the wall in left field with an opposite-field shot, his 22nd homer. Toussaint (1-0) walked two and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings. Darvish (7-4) was making his first start since July 8 after a stint on the injured list due to left hip inflammation. He allowed four hits and two runs with two walks and three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.... [More]
