Cunningham started and scored zero points (0-5 FG) while grabbing seven rebounds and adding an assist and three blocks in 32 minutes against the Grizzlies Friday.

With the move to the starting lineup, Cunningham saw a significant boost in his workload. However, he was unable to do much with the extra time. Cunningham is a classic "better in real life than in fantasy" player, as his game does not translate well to any statistical categories.

Cunningham will get the start at small forward Friday, the Times-Picayune's Nakia Hogan reports.

Coach Monty Williams is looking for ways to play Eric Gordon while Tyreke Evans is on the bench, and vice-versa. Cunningham should see a slight uptick in value because of this, but he's nothing more than a fourth or fifth option when he is with the starting unit.

Cunningham didn't see his minutes cut with the return of Eric Gordon to the lineup, logging six points and four rebounds in 26 minutes.

With New Orleans back at full strength, Cunningham was at risk of losing his ample playing time. However, it was Luke Babbitt and Austin Rivers who were most affected by Gordon's return. Cunningham has played a major role off the bench for the Pelicans since signing mid-year, but it hasn't translated to big counting stats.

Cunningham saw an expanded role off the bench on Sunday while Anthony Davis (chest) sat out. He scored 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes.

Since taking a chance on Cunningham the Pelicans have been trying to figure out how to use the forward in their lineups. With Davis sitting out of this game Cunningham was able to show what he's capable of doing when given minutes. However, with Davis likely to return sooner rather than later his upside is severely limited.

Cunningham signed with the Pelicans on Thursday, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Cunningham, who spent last season with the Timberwolves, was without a team after being charged with domestic violence in April. However, all charges were dropped in August, and rumors of teams showing interest in the forward have circulated for the last month. Cunningham will reportedly sign a one-year, minimum deal, and the veteran is already working out with the team in San Francisco and could step into the rotation immediately.

A charge of felony domestic assault from an incident with a woman sharing his home in April was dropped against Cunningham, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "Based on further investigation, there is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt for the charged offense," Hennepin County, Minn. Attorney Michael Freeman wrote.

Cunningham was able to play with the Timberwolves after the initial charges. He was also arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats for allegedly violating a court order that barred him from contacting the woman, but those charges were never filed against him. It looks like Cunningham will be clear of any legal issues related to the incident. He's an unrestricted free agent and there have been no signs Minnesota plans to re-sign him.

It's hard to believe he was in jail last weekend and has two serious charges filed against him. Kevin Love (elbow) did not play tonight and he should be back on Saturday, so Cunningham is more of a speculative add. If you want to add him, hopefully you're not cutting a guy you'll miss.

Cunningham is not going to play on Friday and the team released a statement on Thursday morning. Nikola Pekovic went down again with a right ankle injury tonight, but the injury didn't look to be serious. Pek only has soreness, so he might be ready to go for Sunday. Cunningham would benefit, but fantasy owners don't need to speculative add him in most cases.

Cunningham's minuscule value has likely been crushed by Pek's return, but then again, he's the only backup center available to the Wolves right now with Ronny Turiaf out indefinitely. He had seven points, four rebounds and a block on 3-of-9 shooting and owners in very deep leagues may want to continue holding Cunningham given tonight's minutes count.
