Pondexter scored five points (2-8 FG, 1-1 FT), grabbed two rebounds, and added one assist and one steal in 26 minutes off the bench against the 76ers Friday.

Pondexter's game is not one that translates well into fantasy value. In his second game with the Pelicans, he again played big minutes, but the box score shows little. Pondexter is a classic example of a "better in real life than in fantasy" player. He has very little fantasy value in most formats.

Pondexter made his debut for the Pelicans on Wednesday as he came off the bench for 32 minutes and contributed nine points (3-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds, and three assists.

Pondexter's 32 minutes were actually a season high, although his actual production was pretty typical of his other performances this season. Even in extended minutes with his new team, Pondexter is still a limited option who only bodes well in the very deepest of leagues.

Pondexter is expected to debut with the Pelicans on Wednesday in Detroit, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Pondexter, who spent his rookie season with the then-New Orleans Hornets, was acquired from Memphis over the weekend. He's averaging a modest 4.5 points per game in 18.0 minutes this season, but his biggest contributions will come on the defensive end, according to coach Monty Williams. "Quincy is a guy who can guard three positions and has shown the ability to knock down shots," Williams said. "He plays hard. He brings great intensity. Being able to put him on different scorers is first and foremost. Offensively, he'll pick up our stuff as we go along. But his defense and energy is going to help us right away." It remains to be seen how Williams will use Pondexter, but the versatile wing should see most of his time at small forward backing up Dante Cunningham. While he's a nice addition for a Pelicans team scrapping to stay in the playoff hunt out West, the deal isn't likely to have a significant impact on his fantasy value.

Pondexter's impending trade to New Orleans has been agreed upon and will be transacted Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Pondexter was averaging 18 minutes per game in Memphis and he may struggle to keep it that high when he starts his tenure in New Orleans. Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans have the starting spots on lock at the two and three, so Pondexter will be fighting for playing time with the likes of John Salmons, Jimmer Fredette, Dante Cunningham, and Luke Babbitt. The number of options for the Pelicans around Pondexter's playing style will likely smother his ability see significant minutes on the court moving forward.

Pondexter will not be available for the Grizzlies' game against the Suns on Sunday as he awaits an impending trade that will send him to the Pelicans, The Commercial Appeal reports.

The Grizzlies, Pelicans, and Celtics are still awaiting the league office to officially open Monday so their trade over the weekend can be pushed through. Pondexter will apparently stay on the sidelines until this happens, so plan accordingly.

Pondexter will be traded to the Pelicans upon league approval of the three-team deal also involving the Celtics, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

With Jeff Green coming to Memphis, Pondexter will likely end up in a better situation while playing for New Orleans. There's a good chance that he'll provide direct relief for Tyreke Evans and Anthony Davis off the bench, albeit a limited role.

Pondexter (ankle) posted zero points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one block in 12 minutes during the Grizzlies' 103-95 win versus the Heat on Saturday.

Pondexter had been listed as questionable for Saturday after leaving Friday's game versus the Rockets with an ankle injury, but was able to give it a go, and helped the team end a four-game losing streak. In 25 games he is averaging 4.5 points (32.5 FG, 22.7 3Pt, 70.0 FT), 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.2 blocks in 18 minutes per game. Pondexter will receive the occasional night off, but typically sees decent minutes thanks to what he contributes on the defensive side of the ball. Still, what he does defensively doesn't typically show up much on the box score, so unless he starts getting things going offensively he can likely be left on the waiver wire outside of the deepest leagues. The Grizzlies are back in action on Tuesday versus the Spurs.

Pondexter (ankle) is considered questionable for Saturday's game against Miami, Rob Fischer of Sports 56 WHBQ in Memphis reports.

Pondexter returned from illness to start Friday's game against Houston but sustained an ankle injury that has his status for Saturday's game in jeopardy. If the rangy wing is unable to go, Vince Carter and Jon Leuer figure to see increased minutes.

Pondexter was inserted into the starting lineup against the Spurs on Wednesday but only managed to contribute four points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 23 minutes of action.

Pondexter made the start for Tony Allen (eye) on Wednesday but Allen is not expected to be sidelined much longer. As a result, Pondexter will continue to be a lackluster option across most formats as he has only scored more than eight points three times this season.

Pondexter will start Wednesday against the Spurs, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Pondexter will start in place of Tony Allen, who is out Wednesday with an eye injury. He'll likely return to a reserve role once Allen is ready to give it a go.

Pondexter returned to the lineup on Sunday after missing Friday's game versus the Celtics, contributing 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and two rebounds in 21 minutes during the Grizzlies' 107-91 win versus the Clippers.

Pondexter had his best game of the season last Monday night versus the Rockets before coming back down to earth on Wednesday versus the Raptors. In 12 games this year he is averaging 4.8 points (31.1 FG, 25.7 3Pt, 73.3 FT), 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.1 steals and 0.2 blocks in 18 minutes per game. Pondexter's defense is what keeps him on the floor, but outside of the deepest leagues he's unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy.

The Grizzlies are obligated to dress a certain amount of players each game and so Pondexter will technically be active for Friday's contest. Although, for all intensive purposes he actually will not play as he continues to battle the team-wide stomach bug.

Several of the Grizzlies' main players have been hit with an apparently nasty stomach virus, leaving many players' statuses in question. The illness does not seem to be something that would keep Pondexter out an extended period of time, but it does appear to be severe enough to keep Pondexter out of the lineup Friday. Fantasy players will need to check the status of several Grizzlies going up to game time Friday to see who is suffering from the illness, who is going to play through it, and who is healthy.

Pondexter will get the start at shooting guard Wednesday.

Courtney Lee and Tony Allen will miss Wednesday's game with a stomach virus, so Pondexter should see plenty of run on the wing.

Pondexter posted 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes during the Grizzlies' 119-93 win versus the Rockets on Monday.

Pondexter was called upon to replace Tony Allen, who picked up two quick fouls in the first quarter, and Pondexter did a great job covering the Rockets' James Harden. Tayshaun Prince received a DNP-CD, and if Pondexter is able to consistently provide defense and three-point shooting he could start to see a little bit more playing time. However, until he starts earning more minutes on a regular basis he's only worth consideration in the deepest leagues.

Pondexter is averaging 20 minutes on the court over the first six games of the season.

Pondexter has a secure spot in the rotation but is only averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds this season. When considering that he won't likely see an increase in time on the court, the 26-year-old only seems to be a viable option in the deepest of leagues.

Pondexter is averaging 10.7 points (44.2 FG, 35.0 3Pt, 76.0 FT), 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.5 steals in 23 minutes per game during six preseason affairs.

Pondexter will begin the regular season coming off the bench with Courtney Lee and Tony Allen occupying the starting wing positions, but Coach Dave Joerger indicated to 92.9 ESPN in Memphis that Tayshaun Prince will see a reduced role in 2014-15. Factor in that Pondexter can cover both wing positions, Vince Carter (ankle) is not expected to be 100 percent to start the season, and rookie Jordan Adams will be eased into action, and Pondexter figures to see solid minutes to start the 2014-15 season. Still, Pondexter's upside may be limited by the Grizzlies' depth at the wing, and that might keep him from gaining much value outside of deeper leagues.

Pondexter (foot) said he is 100 percent healthy, the Grizzly Bear Blues reports.

In his interview Pondexter (foot) even joked that he's in too good of shape, and said that he's trying to improve his playmaking skills in order to continue growing as a player. With Tayshaun Prince likely to keep declining, if Pondexter shows improvement and gets off to a solid start in 2014-15 he could be in line to see decent playing time given that he can already defend and shoot the three. Still, given the depth that the Grizzlies boast at shooting guard and small forward, it may be difficult for him to earn enough minutes and produce the numbers necessary to make him fantasy relevant outside of deeper leagues.

Quincy Pondexter was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot and will miss the rest of the season.

The Grizzlies are having some bad luck with the injury bug and continue to lose depth. Pondexter got the start at shooting guard on Saturday with Tony Allen (hip) hurt, so they are really down to just Jerryd Bayless and Nick Calathes for options at the two until Allen gets back. Mike Miller and Jamaal Franklin could also see some time at shooting guard.

Quincy Pondexter started at shooting guard and scored four points with one rebound and one assist in 13 minutes.

The Grizzlies might have wanted to extra length to help combat Golden State's 3-point shooting, but it didn't work at all. Pondexter will likely go back to seeing more DNP-CDs once Tony Allen (hip) returns to the lineup.
