Smith was traded to the Pelicans on Thursday, NBA.com reports.

Smith joined the Thunder shortly after the season tipped off and made 30 appearances with the club, averaging 1.2 points (on 33 percent shooting), 0.9 assists, and 0.9 rebounds in 5.2 minutes. Because Jrue Holiday aggravated the stress reaction in his lower right leg Monday, the Pelicans had a need for point guard depth behind Tyreke Evans. As a result, the recently-acquired Smith and Norris Cole will compete for any available minutes at the point.

Smith did not enter Tuesday's game, receiving a DNP-coach's decision.

Smith has only logged double digit minutes in a game once this month, playing 11 minutes in a blowout loss to the Warriors on Jan. 5.

Smith has been signed by the Thunder, the team's official site reports.

Smith was waived by the Rockets earlier this year, but with all the injuries in Oklahoma City, the Thunder were granted a hardship exception, and they need all the healthy bodies they can get. Despite being buried on the depth chart, Smith could have some fantasy value this season, depending on where the injury situation is at any given game.

Smith is expected to sign with the Thunder on Wednesday, The Oklahoman reports.

Smith is slated to join the Thunder in wake of Oklahoma City being granted a hardship exemption stemming from the plethora of maladies they've already endured this season. Perhaps the fastest player in the NBA, Smith could be in uniform for Friday's game versus the Grizzlies and is expected to compete with Sebastian Telfair for backup point guard duties behind Reggie Jackson.

Smith joined the Rockets in July on a one-year contract, but failed to make the team's roster during the preseason. Nonetheless, the jet-heeled reserve point guard figures to land with another NBA team, after featuring in 70 games for the Suns last season.

Ish Smith has agreed to a 1-year deal with former Phoenix guard Ish Smith, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Smith was waived by Phoenix after the acquisition of guard Isaiah Thomas. The Rockets were in the market for a back up point guard after trading Jeremy Lin to the Lakers, and now Smith will get a chance to fill that void. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.6 assists, and 0.7 steals in 70 games played last season.

Smith's $992k salary was on the verge of becoming fully guaranteed, but Phoenix doesn't have a need for him with Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas and possibly Eric Bledsoe in the backcourt. Smith should be able to earn a backup role with an NBA team, but it's not a certainty.

Ish Smith finished Sunday's road victory with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 19 minutes of action.

There was precious little defense being played, which helped Smith's case, and this marks his highest-scoring game since Feb. 28. He did most of his damage in the first half while Eric Bledsoe sat due to foul trouble, and Smith's solid game doesn't have lasting implications.

Goran Dragic (ankle) has a chance to play on Friday vs. the Pelicans, so there's not much incentive to add Smith if he was left on waivers leaving up to tonight.

He should be extremely busy tonight as the only healthy point guard on the roster. Smith is basically a must-play in daily formats in a terrific matchup, but he may not have value beyond Wednesday night. Archie Goodwin will get in the rotation with a little bit of Dionte Christmas mixed in as well.

Suns backup PG Ish Smith handed out eight assists in just 19 minutes of action on Saturday, earning praise from coach Jeff Hornacek.

"We knew that he could push the ball, knew he could pass it," Hornacek said. "He's a very good ball-handler, obviously. We expected that if we needed him to go in our [up-tempo] style, it would work well." Smith stepped up in the rotation with Eric Bledsoe (knee) ruled out for at least one week, but he's only of interest to deep-league owners in need of assists.

Smith played just 9.9 minutes per game last season, making only 35.2 percent of his shots. Even though he's guaranteed $985K this year, the 25-year-old guard is unlikely to get many minutes and may not be in the rotation.

He was part of the trade that sent J.J. Redick to Milwaukee, but unlike Redick he doesn't have any fantasy value. He is owed a shade under $1 million for each of the next two seasons, though his 2014-15 salary is fully unguaranteed.

The Bucks acquired Ish Smith from the Magic in a trade on Thursday.

He'll be thrust into a better position with the Bucks and he could actually have the inside track to playing backup point guard behind Brandon Jennings. There's no need to think about grabbing him in the vast majority of leagues.

Ish Smith struggled in a start for the short-handed Magic on Monday, shooting 2-of-10 from the field to finish with four points, three rebounds, two assists and three turnovers.

J.J. Redick (shoulder), Jameer Nelson (arm) and DeQuan Jones (foot) were all out tonight, allowing Smith to play 26 minutes, but he failed to capitalize on the enlarged role. All three injured players are listed as day-to-day.

Ishmael Smith started for injured Jameer Nelson (hip) on Monday against the Heat, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes.

Smith had four turnovers in those limited minutes and the Magic turned to veteran Hedo Turkoglu to run the offense. The threat of that should eliminate any fantasy appeal for Smith, and for now Nelson's injury doesn't appear to be serious.

Ishmael Smith drew the start on Saturday and scored a season-high 14 points to go with two rebounds, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes as the Magic were blown out 123-88 by the Raptors.

Jameer Nelson (hip) and E'Twaun Moore (elbow) both missed this game, but neiter injury is expected to keep them out for long. The Magic take on the Heat on Monday, so the day off should help their injured guards.

Ish Smith improved his jump shot after shoulder surgery.

"I feel a whole lot more comfortable," he said. "I feel confident in it," referring to his jumper. Smith will compete with E'Twaun Moore for the backup PG spot behind Jameer Nelson, but right now, Moore looks to have the leg up in the competition.

Ishamael Smith scored six points in 12 minutes on Friday after missing time with a shoulder injury.

E'Twaun Moore has taken over the reserve point guard role for the Magic and had 18 points, two boards, three assists and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes. If you're looking for a point guard late in a very deep draft, Moore, and not Smith, is a guy you should be looking at.

Originally, Smith wasn't expected to be ready until mid-November, but he's worked very hard to return and be ready for the regular season. Right now, we have Smith as third on the PG depth chart behind Jameer Nelson and E'Twaun Moore.
