F Tyler Zeller, starting for Al Horford, scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to give Boston its 16-point lead with 10:42 left. He had 11 points, and the Celtics went small when he was off the floor.

The Boston Celtics agreed to a one-year contract with free agent forward Gerald Green and a two-year deal with restricted free agent center Tyler Zeller, according to reports Saturday.Green, 30, was originally selected by the Celtics with the No. 18 pick in the 2005 draft. He played for the Celtics from 2005-07, averaging 8.9 points and 2.2 rebounds. He spent last season with the Miami Heat, averaging 8.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 69 games (14 starts).The 26-year-old Zeller, the 17th overall pick in the 2012 draft, appeared in 60 games for Boston last season, averaging 6.1 points and 3.0 rebounds. The 7-foot center started only three games after playing in 82 games with 59 starts the previous season when he averaged 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds.Zeller's deal is expected to include a non-guaranteed second season.According to the Boston Globe, the Celtics also agreed to a guaranteed contract with their second-round draft pick, guard Demetrius Jackson, and a partially guaranteed deal with second-round forward Ben Bentil.

F Tyler Zeller missed his last two shots from the floor on Friday night, finishing 9-of-15 for the game. Had one of them gone in, he would have established a new career high. Instead, he finished by matching his career best with 26 points in 25:05 of playing time. He also scored 26 points in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers last March. Zeller's output helped the Celtics to 70 points in the paint in a 124-109 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

C Tyler Zeller,a forgotten man on the end of the Boston Celtics bench, posted a season-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes Tuesday, the most he's played this season.

C Tyler Zeller came off the bench to produce 14 points and eight rebounds (and six fouls) in 16:53 of aggressive action. "Surely it's tough when he doesn't play and he's disappointed when he doesn't play, but he doesn't show it," coach Brad Stevens said. "He's been a complete and total professional."

Zeller received the start at center in the Celtics' preseason opener Tuesday against Italian club Olimpia Milano. He recorded nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), three boards, and two assists in 14 minutes of action.

Zeller logged less playing time than the rest of his presumptive competition for minutes in the frontcourt, but the fact that he and David Lee saw the starts at the two post spots suggest both are the likely favorites to open the regular season in those roles. That being said, with Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, and Jared Sullinger still bringing their own unique skills to the table, it's difficult to see Zeller dominating the minutes down low. Expect coach Brad Stevens to utilize a deeper frontcourt rotation to begin the season, lessening the fantasy impact of all players involved.

Zeller's numbers improved across the board during his first season with the Celtics. With Boston, Zeller played in all 82 games (59 starts) averaging 21 minutes, 10.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 0.6 blocks and 1.4 assists per game.

Zeller found a good opportunity in Boston after seeing his minutes decline between his first and second years with Cleveland. In Boston, Zeller proved a valuable contributor on a team lacking a true center. Still, Boston desperately needs to find a true rim protector during the off-season. Zeller was adequate on defense, but not the game changer the Celtics need. GM Danny Ainge is very to anxious to use the teams' multiple draft picks and ample cap space to upgrade the roster. Finding a shot blocker would go a long way towards improving the team's defense. With that in mind, Zeller's future role with the Celtics is a bit unclear. Zeller has two years remaining on his rookie contract.

Zeller posted a nice plus-1 +/1 rating, but collected only 9 points, 6 rebounds and zero blocks during 28 minutes of play in Thursday's Game 3 loss.

Zeller shot a poor 3-of-9 from the field, but was aggressive as the Celtics fought hard on their home court. Still, the extra effort was no match for the Cavs' superior talent. Expect more big minutes for Zeller on Sunday as the C's fight to avoid elimination.

Zeller posted 11 points and six rebounds over 30 minutes in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to Cleveland.

Zeller put together a solid outing Tuesday after scoring just six points over 15 minutes in Game 1. His minutes and thus his production have been inconsistent, but if he gets a similar amount of run in Game 3, he should be able to post solid numbers.

Zeller went for 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, and three assists in 25 minutes Saturday against Toronto.

Zeller's up-and-down scoring pattern continued Saturday as he rebounded from an eight point outing to reach 20 points for the first time in nearly a month. Each of his last three double-digit outings have been followed by single digit performances. While Zeller is generally productive when he's on the floor, he rarely plays more than 25 minutes, which limits his value.

Zeller scored 26 points (11-15 FG, 4-4 FT) to go along with five rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes Monday against Philadelphia.

Zeller was extremely efficient Monday in limited minutes against a bad team. It's hard to get too excited about his value going forward as this marked the seventh game in a row where Zeller has played 28 minutes or less. He could have the occasional big night, but don't expect him to be a major contributor on a nightly basis.

Zeller scored 12 points (3-8 FG, 6-6 Ft) with nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 23 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Grizzlies.

He and Kelly Olynyk saw almost equal playing time in this one, and both managed to produce very good fantasy lines despite the limited minutes. Zeller wasn't able to produce consistent fantasy value even when Olynyk was sidelined, however, so don't expect him to go on a tear now.

Zeller hit the game winning bank shot as time expired versus the Jazz on Wednesday.

Despite starting the last eight games for the C's, Zeller is only averaging 10.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 26 minutes of work per game. Regardless, his winning shot in Utah keeps Boston's playoff hopes alive. His minutes may decline now that Kelly Olynyk has returned from injury.

Zeller got the start and scored 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting, along with four rebounds and six assists, in 31 minutes Friday night against the Kings.

The Celtics looked to Zeller with Kelly Olynyk and Jared Sullinger out, and he delivered for the most part. He could be a decent short-term pickup as long as Olynyk is out, but that's an unreliable variable.

Zeller returned to the bench Friday, scoring 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-6 FT) and adding nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, and three blocks in 26 minutes against the 76ers.

Despite returning to the bench, Zeller played the same number of minutes as he did when he started Wednesday's game. Zeller is usually productive on nights when he plays significant minutes, but his workload remains inconsistent from one night to the next. Keep an eye on Zeller, but unless Boston addresses their overcrowded frontcourt, he can probably remain on standard leagues' waiver wires.

Zeller scored 14 points (6-12 FG, 2-3 FT) with five rebounds in 27 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.

He provided some modest production during his spot start, but until Brandon Bass gets traded (or unless Jared Sullinger keeps getting himself disciplined by coach Brad Stevens), Zeller's fantasy value will be limited.

Zeller will get the start Wednesday in place of Jared Sullinger, Jessica Camerato of BasketballInsiders.com reports.

Sullinger missed a team walk-through, so coach Brad Stevens made the call to pull him from the starting lineup. Zeller will step in and make his 28th start of the season after playing only 11 minutes off the bench Tuesday in New York. He finished with nine points and five rebounds.

Zeller will return to a bench role Tuesday, the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett reports.

His run with the starters looks to be short lived, as Jared Sullinger takes back his spot in the starting lineup Tuesday. Zeller was pretty productive in his start Sunday, scoring 17 points with six boards and four assists in 32 minutes, and it will be worth monitoring his playing time going forward, as he is still an intriguing option in deeper leagues.
