Wed Aug 12 201515:50Scott faces up to 25 years in prison
Scott, who was arrested on felony drug charges in July, faces up to 25 years in prison, AJC.com reports.
With the possibility of a hefty 25-year sentence, Scott's stay in the NBA might be in jeopardy. The drugs involved in the arrest have been sent to a lab for processing, so the initial court date might not occur for several months. He's also subject to team and league discipline, which could shake out once the legal process is concluded.

Scott was arrested on felony drug charges Thursday, Chris Vivlamore of AJC reports.
Details of the arrest have yet to be released, but this could force Scott to miss some time during the 2015-16 season. We'll have to wait and see how the league responds, but this will be a situation to monitor as the season approaches. Scott played in 68 games for the Hawks last year, finishing with averages of 7.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.4 steals over 17 minutes per game.

Scott averaged 7.8 points, 1.0 three-pointers, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.4 steals in 17 minutes per game through 68 games in 2014-15.
The 26-year-old, who finished his third NBA season, is under control through 2016-17. Scott missed 11 games in March due to rehabbing a broken toe. He had an average shooting efficiency this season at 44 percent from the field, 34 percent from three, and 79 percent from the free-throw line. Should Paul Milsap leave the Hawks in free agency, Scott could see increased minutes. However, Scott will most likely return to a bench role, splitting minutes with Pero Antic, Mike Muscala, and Al Horford.

Scott received 32 minutes with Al Horford ejected and scored eight points (3-9 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with nine rebounds in the Game 3 loss to Cleveland on Sunday.
Scott came on in relief of Horford in Game 2 as well and averaged 29.0 minutes after sitting out four straight playoff games. He missed 3-pointers in consecutive possession in the overtime period and is now 0-of-8 on 3-pointers against the Cavaliers.

Scott will likely remain out of the rotation during the Eastern Conference Finals, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Scott has not played since Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and he revealed to reporters Thursday that coach Mike Budenholzer informed him that he'd been removed from the rotation. "Coach came to me and said he wanted to give (Mike Muscala) a shot," Scott said. "I support my teammates. Of course, I'm a competitor and I want to be out there with my teammates but I'm going to be a great teammate for my team." Scott, who was a major part of the bench rotation throughout the season, said he is 100 percent healthy, so this looks to simply be a situation in which Budenholzer is more comfortable with Muscala as the backup power forward. Budenholzer also noted that DeMarre Carroll's knee injury will not impact Scott or Muscala's minutes. "Mike is primarily a 4-man," Budenholzer said. "An injury to a 3-man does not trickle down. There is some opportunity but I don't think DeMarre being injured as that kind of trickle down that maybe people are inferring or thinking." Carroll continues to be listed as questionable in advance of Friday's Game 2.

Scott (back) logged 11 minutes of action in Sunday's Game 1 win against the Nets. He posted five points, one rebound, and two steals.
Scott has been a solid role player off the bench for the Hawks, but he hasn't seen enough minutes to contribute heavily on a normal basis. With Al Horford's recent finger dislocation, Scott could possibly see five or so more minutes added to his usual workload. However, Horford isn't expected to miss much (if any) time, so Scott will still be limited in most formats.
Sun Apr 19 201515:58Scott (back) will be available for Sunday's Game 1 against Nets
Scott (back) will be available for Sunday's Game 1 against the Nets, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
This news was expected since Scott was previously taken off the injury report despite missing the final game of the regular season with a bruised back. The injury seemed to be minor in nature to begin with so the 26-year-old may certainly be able to handle his season average of 16.5 minutes per game Sunday.

Scott (back) isn't listed on the Hawks' injury report in advance of Sunday's playoff opener against the Nets, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Scott sustained a bruised back in Monday's loss to the Knicks and subsequently missed the season finale Wednesday at Chicago. After fitting in a partial practice Friday, he's seemingly been cleared for action Sunday. Sidelined for most of March due to a sprained left big toe, he appeared in seven of of the Hawks' final eight contests, averaging 10.2 points (on 41 percent shooting), 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers in 24 minutes.
Fri Apr 17 201515:22Scott (back) partial participant in Friday's practice
Scott (back) was a partial participant in Friday's practice, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. "He is progressing," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "We'll know more between now and (Game 1) Sunday. I don't think we can say either way that he is definitely in or definitely out. He went through a lot of practice today. We'll see how he feels today and Sunday. We are hopeful he'll be ready to go."
Scott is dealing with a bruised back, an injury he suffered in Monday's loss to the Knicks. He'll be re-evaluated Saturday, and a final call likely won't come until after shootaround Sunday morning.
