Adams continues to deal with back soreness, and he was held out of portions of practice for the second consecutive day. The Thunder are considering the center questionable for Sunday's scrimmage.

The New Zealand team was scheduled to participate in a two-game tournament against the Australian Nation team in August for the region's one automatic spot in the upcoming Olympics. Adams noted a schedule conflict as the reason for his withdrawal. According to his representatives, Adams is reportedly focused on the impending season, one in which he'll enter training camp battling Enes Kanter for the starting center spot.

Adams was promoted to the Thunder's starting center this season and averaged 7.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 25.3 minutes per game across 70 appearances.

Adams started 67 of his 70 games played, which coincided with Oklahoma City trading veteran center Kendrick Perkins in February. In an expanded role, the second-year Adams continued to develop nicely, posting 10 double-doubles along the way. At only 21 years old, the seven-footer has emerged into a tough-minded defensive center whose game nicely complements teammate Serge Ibaka and Enes Kanter, who is expected to re-sign with the Thunder this offseason. That frontcourt depth limits Adams' touches to some degree, but he remains an intriguing talent for new coach Billy Donovan to utilize heading into next season.

Adams was a game-time decision heading into Friday but ultimately was able to play. He has been a solid-but-not-amazing fantasy option over the past few weeks, and it's looking like he won't miss much time moving forward. He should be owned in 12-man formats at this point.

Adams has now reached double digits in rebounding in five of his past six games and strung together four straight double-doubles during that span. He's a bit foul-prone, but shoots a good field goal percentage and is among the best rebounding options for players that still may be available on the waiver wire. Adams is worth an add in 12-team leagues and above.

Adams will be relied upon heavily with Serge Ibaka out injured. He has seen at least 30 minutes in his past three games where he is averaging 14 points and 10.6 rebounds. Adams should be owned in the majority of leagues for his rebounding and shot blocking.

Adams started for the Thunder on Sunday, scoring 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 FT) with 11 rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes against the Bulls.

This was great to see for coach Scott Brooks, as both Adams and Enes Kanter started and had strong games. With this game in place, we learned that these two 7-footers may be able to coexist in the starting rotation and be fantasy-relevant, as the two combined for 32 points and 29 rebounds Sunday. Even so, it will be difficult for Adams to get consistent production while fighting for playing time with Kanter and Serge Ibaka when he returns soon. For daily games, Adams is a risky play right now, but Adams value in fantasy games will need to be monitored as his role develops over the next few games.
