Sat Feb 22 201416:01Phil Pressey expected to start on Saturday
Phil Pressey is expected to start on Saturday night.
Rajon Rondo is getting his scheduled rest and the Celtics will have a severe drop off at the point guard spot. Pressey shot 30.6 percent from the field over his last 12, which is actually an improvement on his season total of 28.7 percent. He did have a nice game mixed in there in his previous start, but it's still very hard to get excited about using him in most formats. A struggling Jerryd Bayless will also see more minutes.

Mon Feb 10 201418:50Phil Pressey and Gerald Wallace starting
Phil Pressey and Gerald Wallace will start next to Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Jared Sullinger against the Bucks on Monday.
Pressey is one of the worst offensive players in the NBA with his season shooting of 27.0 percent from the field and he's also at just 18.8 percent over his last five, which includes two starts. He could have a better game tonight, but he's not a reliable option. Jerryd Bayless will back him up and should have a nice chunk of minutes go his way. On the other hand, Gerald Wallace is a decent plug-and-play.

Wed Jan 29 201423:15Phil Pressey's third verse not same as second
Phil Pressey didn't have it in his third start of the season vs. the Sixers on Wednesday, making 1-of-7 from the field for two points with one board, two assists and two steals.
Michael Carter-Williams didn't give Pressey any room to operate and the size difference was too much for Pressey. He dropped his season field goal percentage to 27.3 percent from the field and might be the worst offensive guard in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics don't have another back-to-back until Feb. 9 and 10, so Pressey can be ignored in almost all leagues until then.

Wed Jan 29 201417:53Phil Pressey will get the start on Wednesday
Phil Pressey will start in place of Rajon Rondo on Wednesday.
Pressey was very impressive in his last game as the starter, making 7-of-10 from the field for 20 points in 35 minutes. However, he has cooled off in his last three games and shot just 29.4 percent from the field on that span. He's far from a sure thing tonight, but there should be some opportunity against a struggling Philly defense.

Sat Jan 25 201400:35Phil Pressey falls off as expected on Friday
Phil Pressey moved back to the bench on Friday during a 101-83 loss to the Thunder with nine points, two boards, six assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
He's earned some minutes and even saw playing time next to Rajon Rondo tonight. With Rondo still likely looking at a minute restriction for a while, Pressey can hold some value in deeper leagues. He's not worth owning unless the Celtics are on a back-to-back and rest Rondo. They have a back-to-back coming up on Tuesday vs. the Knicks and Sixers on Wednesday.

Wed Jan 22 201422:27Phil Pressey scores 20 points vs. Wizards
Phil Pressey scored a career-high 20 points against the Wizards on Wednesday to go with one board, four assists, two steals, one block and five 3-pointers on 7-of-10 shooting.
He's scored only 1.6 points per game before tonight, had a previous career high in scoring of just seven and had a pathetic 23.5 field goal percentage. The switch has come on for Pressey lately for the past two weeks in the assist department, but this scoring output came out of nowhere. Rajon Rondo sat out in the second half of a back-to-back, so fantasy owners can remember this the next time the Celtics rest their All-Star.

Sun Jan 19 201410:25Brad Stevens praises Phil Pressey's play
Celtics coach Brad Stevens praised guard Phil Pressey's play in a recent interview.
"He's playing extremely solid. He's moving the ball. He's playing defense. He's a very reliable defender." While these things are nice to hear, the return of Rajon Rondo will likely hinder Pressey from having much, if any, fantasy relevance.

Fri Jan 17 201422:24Phil Pressey drops nine dimes in loss to L.A.
Celtics PG Phil Pressey followed up Wednesday's 10-assist game with another strong effort, coming off the bench on Friday for six points, nine assists and two steals in 22 minutes.
He set a new season-high with two 3-pointers, nearly matched his season-high in dimes and steals, and scored for the first time in his past five games. His timing is ironic, considering Rajon Rondo's return to action, but the Celtics have more incentive to develop Pressey than to use Jerryd Bayless as a make-shift PG so there's a good chance the rookie will backup Rondo the rest of the way.

Thu Jan 16 201400:07Phil Pressey goes for 0 points, 10 assists
Phil Pressey came off the bench Wednesday and failed to score, missing all five of his shots, but also handed out 10 assists in 26 minutes.
Pressey and Jerryd Bayless will back up Rajon Rondo when he returns Friday, and it looks like Pressey could be the second stringer. Bayless was also 0-for-5 from the floor and finished with just one point, two rebounds and three assists. Both players are intriguing from a fantasy standpoint, but may have trouble making much noise as long as Rondo and Avery Bradley are healthy.

Wed Jan 15 201418:00Phil Pressey will start vs. Raptors on Wed.
Phil Pressey will start against the Raptors on Wednesday.
Coach Brad Stevens doesn't want to mess with his rotation, so he'll slot Pressey into the starting lineup tonight. Pressey is one of the worst offensive players in the NBA, shooting 24.4 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from deep. Fantasy owners in deep leagues should only think about adding Pressey while Jerryd Bayless should have a bigger role tonight.

Thu Nov 7 201300:08Phil Pressey gets 17 minutes on Wednesday
Phil Pressey played 17 minutes on Wednesday, shooting 1-of-4 from the field for two points with three assists, one steal and no turnovers.
"I thought Phil Pressey gave us a spark. The best teams I've coached have always had a spark off the bench," coach Brad Stevens said. All bets are off on just about all of the Celtics' rotation, but Pressey still has a long way to go before making an impact in fantasy leagues.

Sat Oct 19 201315:50Phil Pressey back at practice on Saturday
Phil Pressey (ankle) returned to practice on Saturday and remains questionable for Sunday's game in Montreal.
His ankle sprain from Wednesday only kept him off the court for a couple days. Chances are he'll want to go out and show what he can do on Sunday in order to impress coach Brad Stevens. Pressey is only worth a look in deep leagues for now.

Wed Oct 16 201321:20Phill Pressey rolls left ankle Wednesday
Phil Pressey rolled his left ankle in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game and went to the locker room.
He drove to the basket and his left ankle didn't come down properly, causing him to go to the ground. Pressey got a quick look from the trainer on the bench, then hobbled back to the locker room under his own power. He finished with no points on 0-of-7 shooting, so he's probably out of the running to be the starting point guard.

Fri Oct 11 201322:52Pressey fills up stat sheet in limited mins
Prospective backup PG Phil Pressey played 18 minutes off the bench in Friday's preseason game, scoring six points on 1-of-2 shooting with four rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Pressey hit all four of his free throws and perhaps this active line will help wedge his name back into a point guard discussion that has shifted to Avery Bradley and Jordan Crawford in the last 24-48 hours. Until his role is clarified, Pressey is just a guy to watch from afar.

Wed Oct 9 201323:00Phil Pressey posts big line in loss
Rookie point guard Phil Pressey came off the bench for 13 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two steals on 4-of-5 shooting in 28 minutes on Wednesday.
This was his first preseason game but coach Brad Stevens has been impressed with Pressey in training camp, and was probably even more impressed with this performance. Avery Bradley should be the starter until Rajon Rondo returns to action, but it looks like Pressey will push him. Keep an eye on this position battle over the rest of the preseason.

Thu Oct 3 201312:34Stevens impressed with Phil Pressey
Brad Stevens has been impressed with Phil Pressey in training camp.
"I thought Phil Pressey had as good a day as any guard we had [on Tuesday], Stevens said. Pressey is going to battle with Avery Bradley for the starting point guard spot while Rajon Rondo recovers from ACL surgery. Even if he does win the job, the rookie will likely struggle too much to keep him from consistent value in standard leagues. He's on the radar in deeper leagues and if he keeps up his solid play in October, he could climb into the discussion in shallower formats.

Fri Sep 13 201314:36Phil Presssey spends time with Rondo
Rajon Rondo spent a couple days with Phil Pressey last month and was "constantly in his ear with instrution," according to Scott Souza of MetroWest Daily News.
Pressey could start at point guard for the Celtics until Rondo (knee) returns, and it is encouraging to see that Rondo is helping the rookie out. It is too early to say if Pressey can beat out Bradley and have real fantasy value, but with Rondo's timetable up in the air it is worth monitoring the situation.

Thu Aug 15 201309:36Phil Pressey could get stats without Rondo
Phil Pressey could start at point guard should Rajon Rondo (knee) need to miss time this season, according to CSNNE.com.
He was undrafted and the Celtics really don't have another point guard outside of Nolan Smith, considering how poorly Avery Bradley played at that spot last year. Rondo should be ready for the season to start following his torn ACL back in January, so Pressey won't be worth drafting in most formats at this point.

Thu Jul 25 201313:07Phil Pressey gets first year guaranteed
The first year of Phil Pressey's three-year deal with the Celtics is guaranteed.
He's a little undersized at 5'11", but he made plays at Missouri for the Tigers. Considering Avery Bradley didn't really thrive at point guard last season, Pressey has a shot for minutes behind Rajon Rondo. Obviously, he has his work cut out for him.
