The 25-year-old played shooting guard again Thursday, with Mo Williams taking over point guard duties in the absence of Kyrie Irving (knee). Dellavedova is expected to revert back to the regular bench role he previously held whenever Irving was healthy enough to take the court, but gained invaluable experience in last season's playoff run.

Dellavedova was re-signed by the Cavaliers to a one-year contract worth approximately $1.2 million, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.

Although Dellavedova stepped up in the playoffs after the injury to Kyrie Irving, the numbers in Dellavedova's new contract hint that he will likely fall back into a diminished bench role for the 2015-16 season. He averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 21 minutes per game in 67 games last season with the Cavaliers.

Dellavedova received a qualifying offer from the Cavaliers on Tuesday, Sam Amico of FOX Sports reports.

Dellavedova will be a restricted free agent this offseason, and the expectation is that he'll return to Cleveland on close to a minimum deal. The Cavs will likely look to add depth at the point guard position this offseason, so Dellavedova's role could decrease in 2015-16.

With the season on the line and Cavs seeking a 3-1 series lead, expect his workload to remain without a limit. In two contests as the starting point guard, he's averaged 14.5 points (on 37 percent shooting), five rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 three-pointers, and 1.5 steals in 41 minutes.

Dellavedova said Thursday that he's fully recovered from the exhaustion and dehydration that landed him in the hospital after Tuesday's Game 3, Rachel Nichols of Turner Sports reports.

Dellavedova was admitted to a Cleveland hospital after the game and received an IV to replenish the fluids in his system. He was able to attend his presser Wednesday morning and confirmed Thursday that he'll be fine for Game 4. Expect Dellavedova to again play big minutes as the only active point guard on the Cavs roster.

The scrappy guard will likely rest Wednesday with the hope that he'll be ready to go for Thursday's Game 4. At this point, it's difficult to imagine Dellavedova sitting out, though he could be limited if any symptoms of dehydration or exhaustion linger into Thursday.

Dellavedova experienced "severe" cramping following Game 3 on Tuesday and was taken to the hospital to receive IV fluids and additional treatment, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.

Dellavedova should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's Game 4 with an update on his status likely coming sometime Thursday after further medical tests determine the severity of his ailments. Even though he's hospitalized, the Australian could fulfill his normal role in the starting lineup on Thursday if he's only battling dehydration, but in the meantime he's considered a game-time decision for Game 4.

Dellavedova scored a playoff career-high 20 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT) while contributing five rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes on Tuesday in the Game 3 win.

Dellavedova scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and seemingly grabbed every loose ball. The Cavaliers are 4-0 when Dellavedova starts in this postseason, and he's posted a postive-35 plus/minus in those starts.

Dellavedova concluded his first NBA Finals start with nine points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three steals, one assist, and six turnovers in 42 minutes in a 95-93 Game 2 overtime win over the Warriors on Sunday.

Dellavedova terrorized the Warriors' Stephen Curry on the defensive end while filling in for the injured Kyrie Irving (knee). He also nailed the go-ahead free throws in overtime to put the Cavaliers up one with 10 seconds remaining.

Dellavedova will start in place of Kyrie Irving (knee) in Sunday's Game 2 against the Warriors, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

This news comes as no surprise to anyone but is now official for the first time since Irving was ruled out for the rest of the Finals shortly after Game 1. Dellavedova is in line to see considerable minutes moving forward but coach David Blatt may also go with a bigger lineup by using LeBron James at point on offense. Either way, Dellavedova's value moving forward should be held at a higher regard with numerous opportunities ahead of him.

Dellavedova is expected to start at point guard Sunday at Golden State following Kyrie Irving's diagnosis of a broken left kneecap.

Dellavedova previously fared well during Irving's two-game absence in the Eastern Conference finals, averaging 14 points (on 32 percent shooting), 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 three-pointers in 41 minutes. As the Cavaliers have proceeded through the playoffs, Dellavedova's workload has fluctuated depending on Irving's health, with consistent contributions in terms of threes and assists. While he's hit multiple treys in five of the past 10 contests, he also dished at least three assists on seven occasions during that span.

Dellavedova did not score in nine minutes in the Game 1 loss to the Warriors in the NBA Finals. He handed out three assists.

Dellavedova stands to see a huge bump in minutes if Kyrie Irving (knee) misses games. He is a better defender than Irving, but will need to hit his open 3-pointers to help Cleveland have a chance to win.

His four 3-pointers were a playoff-high and it appeared that he preferred the more difficult long range shots than the wide open attempts. Irving has been dealing with a sore knee, and it's a good likelihood that he'll be limited in minutes even when he returns. Look for Dellavadova to post solid minutes when he's on the court as a role player for the Cavaliers.

Dellavedova will start Game 2 on Friday against the Hawks, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.

Dellavedova saw much of the action when Irving sat during Game 1, so it's not a big surprise that he'll receive the start Friday. He also figures to see the biggest boost in Irving's absence, with J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert also figuring to see boosted minutes in the backcourt.

Dellavedova did not score (0-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt) in 25 minutes in the win over the Hawks on Wednesday. He had two rebounds and three assists.

Dellavedova was coming off a 19-point outburst as the Cavaliers ousted the Bulls. He had some good looks at the basket, but was unable to convert LeBron James passes into points. The former St. Mary's star is Kyrie Irving's primary backup. With Irving ailing, Dellavedova will continue to get minutes.
